Mancat Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays Blog Hop today. Polar Bear loves this toy rat from IKEA. He has one upstairs, but this is the first thing he goes for when he is visiting downstairs. He lives upstairs with his 2 wives, but they all visit down here when supervised. He is sweet, but likes to walk up to the other kitties and whap them with those big mitts of his.

All this heat and humidity is getting to me so I am only doing one hop today. I do want to tell you about a new cat blog, I am not being paid to tell you, but I like to help new bloggers, especially when I like their mission. They want to help spread the word that cats should not be thought of as bird killers when there are plenty of other things that kill birds. Also, the strong bond between humans and cats. It is called Cats, People and the Environment.

  1. Polar Bear is gorgeous…..and we know all about big paws from Angel Sammy! I love my IKEA rat you sent to me too – I have lots of toys in my toy basket but I rummage through them and find JUST WHAT I WANT and often it’s my rat! Thanks for the info on the new blog……….

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. I think Angel Sammy was much sweeter with his paws than Polar Bear 🙂 XO

  2. Polar Bear is very handsome. I am with you on the heat and humidity… ugh. It’s storming here this morning and we had a whopper of a storm last night. We grilled in the garage in the middle of claps of thunder! Love those ratties, the rescue I follow in Canada has several of those ratties and the cats love them!

    1. That doesn’t sound like fun, grilling in a storm. I don’t know why those rat toys are sold in the kid toy dept. instead of the pet dept. 🙂 XO

  3. Polar Bear is such a beautiful kitty. I hope the weather cools off. Heat waves can be very exhausting!

  4. I love the big toy rat! We have a new foster kitty (he’s a big guy) who I think would love that rat because of its size. I will have to look at IKEA online.

    1. They don’t have them online, but if your mom gets to the store, they are in the kid’s toys dept.

  5. Ellen,

Yesterday we went to the store and by the time we got home, unloaded the car, and put stuff away I was zapped of all energy. The heat/humidity really took its toll on me. I’m trying so hard to not say, “I can’t wait for fall weather” but I sometimes think it. Here’s to the last Monday in July!

  6. So nice to see Polar Bear. That name is perfect. My first cat Luna did do damage to her share of neighborhood pigeons, moles, voles, and rabbits. She even caught a garter snake who lived to slither away, I’m happy to say. But I considered it Darwinian, and only started keeping our three girls as indoor only cats after Jezebel became infected with worms. We figure she ate one of Luna’s kills. Don’t tell her I said that. ~grin~ Best wishes to the new bloggers. I need to concentrate on prose today, so will have to visit some other time. Be well!

    1. I once saw Effie hauling a twisting garter snake in her mouth all over her happy garden. Ghastly sight, but the snake probably managed to free itself and high tale it back to the other side of the fence. l’m not at all big on snakes.

    2. I keep all my cats inside because there are too many dangers outside, worms included.

  7. What a great name. Polar Bear. Fits.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday and I hope things cool down for both of us and soon. ♥

    1. Thank you. I named him after Cleveland Amory’s cat in The Cat Who Came for Christmas.

  8. Hi Ellen! Thanks for the shout out. Some people have visited my blog from your page.

Our Leo has a toy chicken he plays with. It doesn’t take much to keep him happy!

    1. I am glad you are getting some traffic. 🙂 Most cats are happy with simple things like crumpled paper and a box.

  9. We have not met Polar Bear yet. He is very handsome and Lightning likes that he is all white like he is.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  10. Polar Bear is quite handsome! My Kit loves those little rats too. She loves to pretend she’s a dog and plays “fetch” with it. LOL

  14. Hello, handsome Polar Bear! Your rat sure looks like fun. Around here, Toby would probably drag that thing around in his mouth. He just loves to treat stuffed toys like that. And I’ll definitely be checking out the new blog you mentioned. Happy Monday to all of you!

    1. It is funny how some like to drag toys around and some don’t. 🙂

  15. Polar Bear, we haven’t seen you in a while. Pierrot likes his rat toy too. So you like to whap? Well, if you have two wives, you must not be all bad. 🙂

  16. I have the same rat, Polar Bear, but I prefurr my mousie 😀 It’s to hot to blog, but we try to be in touch before the sun burns in our environment (=behind the laptop) I think the killing of birdies has more to do with all the poison people spread in the world, we only balance the population. Will hop over to the new blog right away. Extra Pawkisses for now 🙂 <3

  17. Aaaaaaaaaaaaw He is so adorable. Those sure are some big paws he has. MOL We have a huge rat too. MOmmy says it’s so funny to see kitty’s draggin’ ’round a rat that’s almost as big as them. We mostly played with our big rats when we were babies. Now that we’ve discovered the nip nanner and the silvervine toast…well… Big hugs

    Luv ya’

  18. A rat from IKEA….did you have to put it together! 🙂 Polar Bear looks more like a snuggle bug. You’re so nice to plug another person’s blog. Hope it’s successful.

  19. If petcretary evfur gets to an IKEA store she will check to see if there are still any rats there…stuffie ones, not the real ones, MOL! The nearest IKEA is about 90minutes or more drive away. But there is one close to her sister, so maybe when she visits there…

    1. The IKEA is that far for me too so I only get there once every few years. I wish they sold these online.
