J is for Jackson

Hi everyone! Thank you all for the purrs and prayers for Spooky. I will give frequent updates. Today is J day for the A-Z Blogging Challenge and I have 2 authors to recommend.

First is Lillian Jackson Braun, she wrote several The Cat Who mystery novels, according to Wikipedia, she wrote 30, but the last one was canceled by the publisher. When I went to a book sale last week, I purchased one of her books to give away today ( just say in the comments that you want to enter to win). This is book #29, The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers.

I also want to recommend Jackson Galaxy’s books. I know I didn’t give his most recent one the best review, but I do like his original and all he stands for. He has helped many cats on his show and has educated many pet parents that watch the show. Until he came along, I never gave much though to cats thinking vertically.

  1. We have read all of the The Cat Who books but wouldn’t mind reading them again. Love Koko, Yum Yum and Qwill. We haven’t ready any Jackson Galaxy books.
We look forward to updates re Spooky.

    1. I have only read 2 of her books, but I liked them. Spooky will get his first injection tomorrow, I pray it helps.

  2. We love Jackson Galaxy! Unfortunately, my human has been busy and we haven’t been able to watch the new season – they are sitting in the DVR right now.

  3. I certainly wouldn’t mind giving your giveaway book a try! I’ve never actually read any of Jackson Galaxy’s books, but I really should. I’m really glad that he focuses on cats thinking vertically. And, I love your Brody sighting! Purrs!

    1. Good luck in our giveaway. I have been having a lot of Brody sightings 🙂

    1. I am impressed that she has read them all. They are good books, I have only read two so far.

  4. I didn’t realize The Cat Who books had been cancelled. I’ve read a few. And yes, we applaud Jackson Galaxy. Go Brody!

    1. Only the last one was canceled, the author passed away , but I am sure her fans would have bought it.

  5. I found “The Cat Who…” books by accident, reading the first book “The Cat Who Could Read Backwards” and falling IN LOVE with Qwill and Koko. Turns out, Lillian worked for both the Detroit newspapers, and I could tell she used the Detroit area as location for the book. I managed to read every book…in order…because a friend had the entire set and happily loaned them to me. My favorite book is “The Cat Who Saw Stars”. I like Jackson Galaxy, enjoyed his book, watch his TV show religiously (much to The Hubby’s chagrin), and hope that his notoriety help more people understand their kitties.

    1. I am impressed that you read them all.I have only seen a few episodes of Jackson Galaxy’s show, but hope to see more one of these days.

    1. They are very popular, I am sure you would enjoy. Hope you have a nice day too.

    1. It is a paperback so it is light, you can enter. Thank you for being so thoughtful though.:)

  6. Lillian Jackson Braun was our first intro to novels about fine feline friends.
Mom reads all she can find
    Hugs madi your bfff

  7. BRODY !!!!!!!!! dood….grate ta see ewe out & about 🙂 ♥♥♥

  8. I enjoyed reading Lillian’s books but it may be they began to sound the same after a while so her publisher stopped publishing them? Don’t know…anyway, how wonderful it is to see Mr. Brody slinking around the house – the more he visits downstairs the more comfy he will be with all of you. Now if you can convince the other kitties to give him a chance maybe all will be well for everybody!

    Hugs, Sammy

    1. Lillian passed away so maybe the last book wasn’t finished, I can’t think of any other reason to cancel it. I wish Phoebe and Prancie would be nice to poor shy Brody.

  9. He is an amazing fellow and we think his books are a ‘must have’ for all cat lovers…We don’t know Lilian Jackson’s book, but I am curious about the Cat with 60 whiskers…really?… I have to go…to count my whiskers 😀 Good Luck Pawkisses to all 🙂 <3

    1. Let me know how many whiskers you have. 🙂 Pawkisses to you too.

  10. I would like to be entered to win your book, Phabulous Phoebe !

And how good that Brody is coming out. I just read somewhere that feral cats are often comfortable with other cats.

    1. You are entered in the giveaway. I just read that too, they want affection from other cats, not humans. We probably read it on the same blog 🙂

  11. Yay! A Brody sighting! How exciting!

Our mommy can’t wait to have time to read again and she’s seen those books so she might have to check some out! If they don’t need to be read in order we’d love to enter the giveaway!

    1. I am glad your Mom will have time to read now that tax season is almost over. You were entered in the giveaway, but I am sorry, you didn’t win. We start a new giveaway tomorrow though.

  12. Well, we don’t need to have a copy of the book…too many other ones here unread…sigh… MOL!

Oopsie, we see we can’t enter anyways, OMC!! MOL!!!Meowmy has been uber busy of late…working chores and some impawrtant appointments fur her and pawppy.
So now its CATch up time!!

  13. Jan used to have almost a complete set of Lillian Jackson Braun’s books, but we only have a small house and ran out of room to store all the books Jan accumulated, so she gave them to the library years ago. It was nice to be reminded of them. She read all but the last one or so.
