Happy Veteran’s Day everyone! I have great respect for those that serve our country. It amazes me that individuals will give their life to protect people they don’t know. So if you are a veteran or currently serving- Thank you.

Many restaurants and businesses are offering free meals, haircuts, etc. today to the military. Here is the link to the most comprehensive list I could find:

  6. If there’s a “reunion” of Air Force personnel in heaven (and I’m sure there is!) perhaps our Dads have met there……the case your Dad’s flag is in, is just like the one I have with my Dad’s flag. I think of ALL men and women and even animals who have served our country and it makes me PROUD. Very.

I’m sure if all Air Force personnel have a reunion in heaven from time to time, our Dads have met…..the case you have for your Dad’s flag is just like the one I have with my Dad’s flag…….proud daughters we are. We honor all men, women AND animals who have served in the military to keep us safe, secure and FREE. Happy Veteran’s Day………..

  24. Meowmy used to work in a Canadian Veteran’s Hospital, and now in her current workplace in Michigan, she still works with many of them. Different countries, same thanks and gratitude needed and deserved. What amazing men and women they truly are.
    When meowmy was visiting in Canada, recently she bought some poppies, they are the symbol of ‘Remembrance Day’ in Canada and other countries, too; she wore it on her jacket, its still on there and she got many questions/remarks about it. They are used on account of that poem: In Flanders’s Fields The Poppies Grow.
    The veteran who was ‘selling’ the poppies was a Scotsman, who many years ago served in a military unit too. She and he had a good talk together. And of course she thanked him too.

ALL thee rest were killed…..it iss a tragick storey. mee nevurr met Granpaw butt mee has seen hiss fotoss an hee was such a luvley hansum Hu’man. Hee as a ”Mona Lisa’ smile LadyMum says….an a faraway look inn his eyess in sum fotoss’…

      1. What iss sadder iss that GranPaw’ss Mumma was alive inn Leipstag camp in Poe-land until thee day befur Liberashun. Thee bad men found out thee Alliess were on thee way an they lined all thee prisoners up an gunned them down 🙁
        Granpaw onlee found out where hiss Mumma was buried inn the late 1990’ss….hee did go back to Germany twice (paid bye thee Governmint) so hee saw thee other burial sites butt not hiss Mumma’ss.

        When GranPaw an Neffew came to Canada they gotted a more English soundin name…so GranPaw was known as Henry Heinz T********** an his neffew was called George Guenther R********.

That is why LadyMum uses BOTH her ferst names to reememburr thee GranMum shee nevurr new. Wee have 1 foto of Lady Helene & 1 of Mistur Johann her GranPaw. Hee died just befur thee War started inn 1938.
