Mewsic Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Mewsic Moves Me hosted by Curious as a Cathy,Xmas Dolly, JAmerican Spice and Stacy Uncorked.

Our dear friend, Stunning Keisha is honorary co-host this month and she has chosen songs about or by American Indians in honor of Native American Heritage Month.

This one stumped me a bit, but I came up with two.

1.From the movie Pocohantas-Colors of the Wind-

2. Tim McGraw’s Indian Outlaw-

And I want to wish a Happy Veteran’s Day to all who are serving or have served. I am thankful to you all for keeping us safe and free.

Veteran’s Day

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Mewsic Moves Me (hosted by Curious as a Cathy, Xmas Dolly, JAmerican Spice and Stacy Uncorked.) The mewsic theme this week is a freebie so I decided to go with some patriotic music for Veteran’s Day. I am thankful to all who serve and have served.

My Dad was in the Air Force.   I use this photo every year of my Angel Lucy posing with his flag and picture.

  1. Toby Keith’s Courtesy of The Red , White and Blue:
  2. Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA.
  3. Billy Ray Cyrus’ Some Gave All.

Veteran’s Day

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and Ten Things of Thankful. I am reusing my art from 2015. Lucy was posing with my father’s Air Force photo and his flag.

Here are my thankfuls:

  1. I am thankful to all who served and are currently serving. I have the utmost respect for anyone who is willing to give their life for people they have never met.
  2. For scoring a 21 pound turkey for $1.32. The grocery store in the next town had them for 39cents a pound and they accept the $7 off coupon from their competitor.
  3. Hubby and I got to finally go to his favorite restaurant for a long overdue birthday dinner ( his birthday is in January, but he had a blood clot and then Phoebe was sick, etc.).
  4. One of our friends that lives in the same town as the restaurant met us there for dinner, it was nice to catch up.
  5. Coffee with a different friend on Friday.
  6. Lots of leftover cake from the great one’s birthday party.
  7. Emmy finally sat on my lap and has done it more than once.

8. Going shopping today with my mom, niece and the great one.

9. The great one already loves books, she opened some at her party last week and sat right down to look at them instead of moving on to the next gift.

10. Lots of great books that I am currently reading.

1. MEDITATION should be taught in schools. ( I wish I had learned how to do this early in life instead of trying now and having my mind jump all over).
3. My ( personal) song is FRANK SINATRA’S YOUNG AT HEART, because I AM LIKE A GIANT CHILD AND THE LINE, “FAIRY TALES CAN COME TRUE” ( I got my Prince Charming).
4. Three things I am thankful for this week are: MY HUBBY, MY MOM, MY CATS, THOSE WHO PROTECT US and EVERYONE THAT READS MY BLOG. ( I know that is more than 3, but I am thankful for the abundance of blessings in my life).

Happy Veteran’s Day!

Happy Veteran’s Day everyone! I have great respect for those that serve our country. It amazes me that individuals will give their life to protect people they don’t know. So if you are a veteran or currently serving- Thank you.

Many restaurants and businesses are offering free meals, haircuts, etc. today to the military. Here is the link to the most comprehensive list I could find:

IHOP has free red, white and blue pancakes. Olive Garden, Applebees, Country Buffet and many others have free meal offers as well. LucyveteransThis is the photo I posted last year of Lucy with an Air Force photo of my Dad and the flag from his coffin. I hope they are together in Heaven.

Veteran’s Day

Happy Tuesday everyone and for U.S. residents Happy Veteran’s Day. I have great respect for those that protect our freedom and our lives. I am proud to say my dad was in the Air Force: LucyveteransLuckily, it was during peace time. Lucy was the only kitty we have that met my father as we got her in April 2001 and he passed away that June.

Today is medical day and I learned a good trick at the vet that I want to share with you. Do you have a cat that purrs when the vet is trying to listen to the heartbeat? Apparently turning on the water faucet in the exam room will distract most cats. If that doesn’t work, there is the alcohol on a cotton ball trick. You hold it near their nose ( not too close) and that distracts them as well. I just learned this recently which is surprising when you figure how many times I have been to the vet’s office.

I have noticed many bloggers showing adoptable pets on Tuesdays and I finally remembered to do it. I went to Petfinder and looked up cats named Raymond, which was my Dad’s name. There were several young ones which will have no problem being adopted, but this cutie in Washington State is older and needs a home:  We are joining in the opt to adopt hopTuesday's Tails Badge:
