Emmy and Brody look like they could be related. Every morning they sit and wait for a taste of butter.

  1. Ellen, our mom loves Mad About You, and wishes some channel carried reruns. Butter every morning. Can we come live with you? Mom says that cornbread stuffing with cranberries sounds really different and yummy. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

    1. I have the first 3 seasons on dvd, I wish it was on tv in reruns too. Netflix doesn’t even have it. You kitties can come see us whenever you want, but your folks would miss you if you moved here. XO

  2. A bit of butter is worth the wait.

It’s been years since i’ve even thought of a banana cream pie, they are good!

  3. Ellen,

I’ve thought about making stuffing with cranberries but I usually keep the recipe close to DH’s mother’s. Maybe one of these days I’ll make two kinds. I don’t know that I’ve ever had banana cream pie. Is it sorta like banana pudding? DH is allergic to bananas so I don’t make it except on rare occasion and usually without the bananas for him. I add the bananas to mine, though. Mez love bananas! We like watching “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” every Thanksgiving. That’s such a fun movie, a bit over the top at times but still a hilarious film. I’d found a romantic comedy based around Thanksgiving on Amazon Prime “Home for the Holidays” that we may try. I may watch the trailer before we decide to settle in with it and many times over Thanksgiving weekend, we’ll watch “Christmas Vacation”. That is our all-time favorite holiday movie and sometimes we’ll watch it more than once during the season. We never get tired of it! Let me close by sending warm wishes to you for a joyful, blessed Thanksgiving, my friend!

    1. Banana cream pie is a crust lined with sliced bananas and topped with banana pudding and whipped cream-yum. I will check out Home for the Holidays. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving too. XO

  4. Cornbread stuffing? Banana cream pie? Now I’m hungry! I am so happy that Emmy (and Brody, and all of the kitties!) has you. And, I love watching Everybody Loves Raymond, especially the holiday episodes. Thank you for hosting this always fun challenge!

  5. I loved Mad About You!
I can’t wait to eat homemade noodles over mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.
My favorite kind of pie is cherry pie!
This year, I am particularly thankful for a brand new great niece… 🙂
A funny holiday tradition in our house is… we don’t really have a funny holiday tradition at Thanksgiving. Maybe we need to start one! We do watch It’s A Wonderful Life while putting up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.
Emmy and Brody are smart to want their taste of buttah!
Thanks to you and Annie for the Fill-ins. I love the ones around the holidays.

    1. Thank you for your answers. I have the first 3 seasons of Mad About You on dvd. That is a nice tradition, I like to watch Christmas dvds when wrapping gifts. Have a nice weekend! XO

  6. You know, I wondered if it was possible for Emmy & Brody to be related. For years, several of our rescues were, and we knew it for sure, too.
That pie sounds good. That could be your funny tradition! HUGS, my friend. I love you guys.

    1. They actually are very different, she is tall and he has stubby little legs and their furs feel different. Plus he came from 2 miles away and I think she was a drop off that had been a housecat, but they photograph similar. XO

  7. Aww, the kitties are adorable and they do look very much alike.

What a fun tradition of watching shows you love. We listen to music while we go about our meal preparation.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday weekend. My best to your wonderful peeps. ☺

  8. That’s a great picture of the two of you. But Emmy… you DO know Brody has a girlfurriend?? Don’t get TOO close! – Leia.

PS: pie is best with graham cracker crust.

  9. Emmy and Brody look so adorable waiting for their butter. The Thanksgiving episodes of Raymond are always so funny. I forgot about Mad About You. I remember watching that show. That’s a good one. Yes to #1! When I was young, I didn’t like pumpkin pie so my mom would also get an apple pie. I would have loved to have a banana cream pie!

  10. I haven’t watched Mad About You for years – you’ve prompted me to find an episode to watch as I used to love that. Princess Cookie Cat always sits beside me when I have toast hoping for a little bit of butter off the plate at the end.
    Have a lovely day.

    1. I hope you can find Mad About You, it is not on Netflix or our cable. I have the first 3 seasons on dvd. I hope you had a lovely day too.

  11. I’ve never seen Mad About You, but Everybody Loves Raymond had some really funny moments.

I can’t wait for the dressing/stuffing and cranberry sauce either!

I’ll bet Emmy is pretty thankful to be a part of your family now, too. 🙂

Have a blessed weekend and a very Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. When Mad About you was on in the early 90’s, I am sure you had your hands full with watching kids. I am glad Emmy is adjusted now. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving and week too.

  12. 1. I can’t wait to eat our fresh organic turkey with a new paleo styled recipe…and spicy cranberry relish on Thanksgiving.

    2. My favorite kind of pie is tart cherry, and apple rhubarb.

    3. This year, I am particularly thankful for our health, and the fact that we and our boys are all gainfully employed…and for our new little pup. .

    4. A funny holiday tradition in my/our house is we do not have one, MOL! But a tradition we have that is not funny is that we go to church where collectively we give thanks to the Lord for our many blessings.

Who taught who that butter was yummy?? Emmy or Brody? They sure do look all alert for it too come their way,MOL! .

    1. Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. I am glad you are all healthy. I am sure your meal will be delicious. I like the idea of going to church to give thanks. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! XO
I guess Brody taught Emmy because he was here first.
