Friendly Fill-Ins Week 48

Hi everyone! Time for Friendly Fill-Ins, be sure to leave your link at McGuffy’s Reader. You can also answer in the comment section. Before the Fill-Ins though,we have our A-Z crocheted toy, F is for fortune cookie.

Penny, is that a fortune cookie on your back?

1.I don’t understand why ________________is so popular?

2. My in case of emergency person is_________________.

3. There is so much                               !

4. I would be lost without                             .
My answers:
1. I don’t understand why HAMILTON is so popular? I like theater, but have no interest in that particular show.
2. My in case of emergency person is my husband and I also list my Mom too in case I am ever in an accident with my hubby. Did you know you are supposed to put their number in your cell phone and label it as ICE? Emergency responders are trained to look for that.
3. There is so much TALKING!!!! Everywhere I go, people are on cell phones when they are driving, walking, etc. It seems like many people can’t just be alone with themselves.
4. I would be lost without MY HUBBY, MOM AND MY CATS.

  1. TOTALLY AGREE with #1 & 3! I can’t believe how attached to personal devices so many people are. We can’t go anywhere without seeing people, who are so obsessed with their phone, that they are a hazard to themselves and everyone in their path.
    Hamilton doesn’t sound like anything I’m interested in, either, though Ms. Munchkin thinks it sounds ‘cool’ and that is part of the place Professor Gunner got his name from.

    1. Yes, they are a hazard especially when driving. I feel bad for kids in restaurants when their folks are always looking at the phone instead of chatting with them.

  2. Penny does not appear to be happy having that crocheted cookie on her back. Good job on fill-ins, of course. Yippee, hooray…the sunglasses arrived from Mudpie in the mail today. Mom plans to get photos in the next couple of days so that we can send them to the next kitties on the list. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

  3. We don’t know that much about Hamilton but there is a lot of talk about the play so there must be something to it! My Mom and Dad only go to the local theater group for their plays and they do the old “standards” ! Love the rest of your filling in too……HAPPY FRIDAY!

    Love, Angel Sam and Ted

  4. What does your fortune say, Penny? I’m sure it has something to do with how adorable you are. And what fantastic fill-ins. I could not agree with you more on #3. Sometimes I feel like I could walk right out in public and break out in song and dance without any notice whatsoever, as everyone would just be too busy talking to and staring at the devices they carry around with them. Maybe someday I’ll do that social experiment and see how it goes. Thank you for hosting this always fun challenge!

    1. Penny thanks you. And we think you should try that experiment- just kidding 🙂

  5. That’s so true about the endless chatter. Great fill-ins! Thanks for reminding me about ICE. I forgot to do that with my current cheap TracPhone.

  6. I am going to do Fill-in here today, hope that is okay. I am with you on #3. The fortune cookie toy is cute… I would think the kitties would love that!
    1. I don’t understand why the squirrels have to chew on my rocking chairs when there are a bazillion trees out in our woods!
    2. My in case of emergency person is my husband, CH.
    3. There is so much noise! Some days I feel overwhelmed by it.
    4. I would be lost without CH, my husband.

    1. Thank you for your answers. I am sorry the squirrels are chewing on your rocking chairs. Maybe you could put hot sauce on the rockers to deter them. I have heard they are looking for salt so mybe salted peanuts would keep them away. I am glad you have a good hubby. Have a great weekend!

  7. I love your answers! I did not know about ICE. That is a great tip! You are so right about all the talking and just time spent on smart phones. I am right there with you on #4.

    Penny is such a cutie. I bet she has a good fortune.

    I hope you all have a happy weekend!

    1. Thank you 🙂 And Penny thanks you too. I named her after Penny on Big Bang Theory plus some of her colors look like a Penny. Have a great weekend. And Snowball sends kitty kisses to Pierrot.

    1. Silence is good. 🙂 Yes, be sure to set up ICE in your phone.Have a great weekend!

  8. I agrfee: Hamilton seems a bit too much for me.
    That is interesting about the emergency contact information. The initials backward are: ICE! That is why techs are trained to look for it. I need to make sure Bill does that!
    Your statement: “It seems like many people can’t just be alone with themselves.” Amen! I think this is true, people have forgotten the simple acts of being Quiet and Alone! Noise and motion are everywhere. It astounds me how people share everything on Facebook and social media, too. How many things do they need to connect? That is one reason I miss snail mail. It is personal.
    HUGS!

    1. I agree about snail mail, I miss it too. Facebook is good for some things, but I prefer one on one emails. I like silence and luckily, my hubby does too. XO

  9. I’m sure Hamilton is good, but if I was going to choose a show to see, that wouldn’t be on my list. It doesn’t look like my kind of show. My “in case of emergency” is my husband too.

    Love the pic of Penny and the fortune cookie.

    Hope you have a great weekend!

  10. I’ve just updated my cell phone with my ICE contacts: The Hubby first, Mom is 2nd…maybe I will add my sister as 3rd. I use my cell a lot, but not to talk; it’s for looking up facts and interesting things, and for looking at photos of cats, cat artwork, catios…you get the picture! LOL!

  11. I love seeing my sweet Penny! I’m sure the fortune inside the cookie is “You are well loved by someone with orange fur!”

  12. I love the fortune cookie. So cute.

    I like #4 the best. I can tell this is true and it shows in almost every post.

    Have a purrfect day and weekend. My best to your peeps. ☺

    1. That is a common thing now of people getting hit by cars because they are not looking while walking. Have a nice weekend too !

  13. I didn;t know that about ICE…but it makes sense. I have ‘hubby’ typed by our phone number and daughter by our daughters.
    Hugs Cecilia

  14. guyz…..hay thanx for de tip bout de werd ICE; we will make sure de food gurl
    getz thiz added ta de cell ewe lar…..N we dont noe much bout hamilton; we dont get out much huh !! happee fry day two all !! 🙂 ♥♥

  15. My daughter and her teen friends are all about the Hamilton soundtrack. They’re in Thespians, so I think that has spawned their love of musicals. I don’t know why people have to talk so much, either! I enjoy time alone.

  16. Long ago I added ICE to my phone, but know I’m wondering if I should add ICE2 as a back up? I would be lost without my BOOKS (after my hubby and cats, of course!)

    1. Good idea to have more than one ICE in case you are with one of them in an accident- I hope that never happens.

    1. It is a popular Broadway show, the only one that ever interested me was CATS. XO

  17. Joanie and Penny, we are thrilled you want to join The Ladies of Autumn, just have your Mom send us you e-addy (alasandra at cableone dot net) so she can add you to the blog authors

    We agree about #3

    1. That bugs me too, what is so important that they can’t watch where they are driving or walking.

  18. Sometimes I wonder if many of the folks out there would be able to breathe if they didn’t have a cell phone attached to them.

    And, for all of the “connectivity” out there, we are becoming a more “weather channel” society…all small talk and no real in-depth relationships in many cases. That is very sad to me.

    I am glad that you have your kitties, husband, and mama. That is such a blessing. 🙂

    1. I agree, it makes me very sad to see kids with their parents being ignored because the parents are texting.

  19. Your fortune cookies are getting much better. They don’t look like perogie no more.

    1. I don’t understand why FOX News is so popular. That’s what TW says. I was gonna say vegetables.
    2. My in case of emergency person is Pop, of course.
    3. There is so much anger in the world!
    4. I would be lost without Pop and my Tunnel of Pain and Suffering.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I did make a lot that looked like pierogi, but that is OK 🙂 Thank you for your great answers to the fill-ins. I think you forgot to put TW for #2 and 4 though.

  20. Our baby daughter has a professor who knows many of the cast and crew on Hamilton. It seems the play is sold out for several seasons. As I understand it, the play is not even close to accurate.

    1. That is interesting that it isn’t close to accurate, it amazes me what people flock too- I wish I could figure it out because my blog is not something people flock too 🙂

  21. Mew mew mew that iss cute Penny!!! A fortune cookie iss sorta like a chip rite???
    An mee sweetest Phoebe gurl; yur beeuteeefull…….toe-tallee…..
    An mee hopesss mee winss so that Teddy by will win! 😉
    ~~~tummy tickullsss~~~ an ***paw kissesss*** Siddhartha Henry~~~ xxxxxxxx
    1. Penny thanks you. You are so thoughtful to want to win for Teddy. XO and tee-hee tummy tickles.
  22. We bet your fortune cookie says that you are beautiful and will live a long, and bountiful life Penny 🙂
    Our Mama says that she spends a lot of time in silence and that most of the time if she has a choice, she prefers being alone with her fur kids! 🙂
    the critters in the cottage xo
  23. Talking with real face to face peeps is becoming a lost art it seems.
    Fortune cookies are fun! Our great auntie loves to open them up and read them…she is 97…we always giggle when we hear about her humourous antics.
    1.I don’t understand why loud contemporary music such as rock, etc is so popular?
    2. My in case of emergency person is Hubby, sister, brother…and they are ICE!! no, not cold but in my phone. Which even as a not-smart-phone can be set up that way..
    3. There is so much envy, hatred and unrest in the world these days. Its becoming hard to not ‘offend’ anyone. !
    4. I would be lost without real live people to talk with, and do things with. And I need my Church family, too. We are very supportive of each other, esp during times of illness and crises. .
    1. Thank you for your answers, I always enjoy them I am glad you still have an aunt that old who still enjoys life. My phone is not a smart one, but I was able to ICE it too 🙂 I am glad you have a wonderful church family in addition to your own wonderful family. XO
  24. I love theatre, but I have no idea what Hamilton is about either. I hear a lot of talking about it though. But yeah, I agree about the constant chatter and constant noise of our world: I love being alone and quiet with ME at times. The rest just adds to my busy brain and it doesn’t need more, trust me!! ha.
    I do have the ICE in my phone!
    1. Glad you have ICE in your phone. And I don’t think you are missing much not knowing about Hamilton.
