Friendly Fill-Ins Week 188

Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link ( see below) to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. On New Year’s Eve, I _______________________________.
2. My focus word for 2020 is ______________________.
3. _________ is the best thing about starting a new year.
4. My personal goals for 2020 include _________.
My answers:
1. On New Year’s Eve, I go out for Chinese food with my hubby and another couple. We go at 5 PM so it will be an early night.
2. My focus word for 2020 is more of a phrase-“let it go”. I am REALLY going to declutter this year. I keep trying and always fizzle.
3. A fresh start is the best thing about starting a new year. It gives me hope that anything is possible.
4. My personal goals for 2020 include decluttering and trying to be healthier.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Here are photos from 2014 and 2015 of Angel Phoebe with gifts she got from Grammie. Earmuffs ( to block out my Christmas signing) and a big bag of Party Mix.

We are also joining the  Pet Photo Fails Blog Hop hosted by Melissa’s Mochas, Mysteries and Meows in memory of Roby Sweet.

Brody was not very cooperative with the Santa photo shoot.

  1. Great photos………Brody is so funny! Love your fill-ins this week too – I plan on being healthier as well this new year and concentrating on HAPPY too. Thank you for hosting the Hop!

    Love, Pam and Teddy too

  2. One thing to remember when decluttering is that most items, if you give them to a second hand shop or just get rid of them, you can always go get another at the same second hand shop if you find you needed it after all.

    Happy New Year to all!

  3. Know what you mean about clutter. That’s always been hard on my mom. She has been pecking away at it for several years. The house almost breathes easier! The non acquisition of more cat items, the things we cat moms love, has helped. Meaning cat figures and non essentials. Not cat toys and treats. Gotta keep those. Katie would NOT be happy if I stopped those.

  4. Great answers, Ellen. Such beautiful kitties. 🙂

I’m working on decluttering, too. Maybe 2020 will be the year it happens. We can hope!

I think hope is the best part of a new year, too.

    Have a blessed weekend and a very happy New Year, my friend! {{{Hugs}}}

  5. Love your fill-ins. Chinese food sounds like a great way to ring in the new year. Decluttering is a hard thing. It takes everyone to make the commitment to no clutter.

Angel Phoebe made me laugh with the ear muffs. You sing that bad? I don’t think so.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  6. Sweet photos! We are decluttering, especially my hubby! OMW – I didn’t realize he had so much stuff. He has some really nice things and is selling them on the internet. I will be so glad when this is over!!!

  7. Precious photos! I wish you all the best in your Marie Kondo year ahead – MOL! I managed one drawer last year … ONE! You’ll do much better than me I am sure.

  8. Great photos! We were on the same wavelength with decluttering although I called it organizing 🙂 Also, similar answers to #3. It’s time to look forward and start all over again. Hope you have a great weekend and Happy New Year!

  9. Our home has filled with a lot of crap since we closed on it Halloween of 1994 (!) but every time my husband sees me trying to get rid of something he gets a little upset. Not sure why, while I’m an odd cross between my mother and father. She bought things, stuffed them in a closet to hide from him, and forgot them. I go through cycles, not so much purchasing as just keeping stuff not needed. ~grin~ Great goals. Happy early New Year!

    1. Thank you 🙂 I like chicken fingers and rice. I like beef with broccoli too, but that is never at the buffet. XO

  10. We really like those fill-ins and will be having a great time playing with our gifts while Dad gives his answers.
    1. New Years Eve is Buddy Budd’s Gotcha Day. I like to stay on the couch and he sleeps on my lap. I like to be home to keep the family settled from the booms going on.
    2. Action. I vow to get moving before noon
    3. Looking forward with a positive attitude
    4. I want to keep moving and get around better this coming year.
    Happy Mew Year to come

    1. Thank you for these great fill-in answers. I think that is the best way to spend New Year’s Eve. Those are great goals too. XO

  11. On New Year’s Eve, I’ll be attending a wedding. I don’t have a focus word and my goal is to come to know God better and love Him more. Hope your 2020 is blessed!

  12. I liked your replies I think a declutter will be needed for me too, I hope you enjoy your chinese 🙂

Nice photos I want some of the party mix heheh!

    Have a decluttertastic weekend 🙂

  13. Those are great goals! I did start some decluttering this year and hope to continue as well.
Maybe we’ll get Chinese on New Year’s too! We usually stay home and do take-out, but you have to get it early for sure!

  14. TBT here: If your local chinese place has “Lobster Kew”, I highly recommend it. The place I used to visit (too far away now) served it on a steaming hot plate with steam rising to the ceiling. Everyone would watch in amazement regretting they hadn’t ordered it.

Or Char Shu Ding. A pork dish where everything is cubed the same size and is delicious. Few places have it on their menu, but some know how to make it.

    1. Thank you for the suggestions, but I don’t eat lobster or pork 🙂 We get the buffet and I stick with chicken and veggie dishes.
