Friendly Fill-Ins Week 114

Hi everyone! Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

1. I tried  __________________ and I liked it.

2. Am I the only one who ___________________?
3. _________ is my hero/heroine.
4. If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life, it would be _______
My answers:
1. I tried a California roll and I liked it. I always thought that was another name for sushi, but the local grocery store had free samples of ones with chicken and it was tasty. Now I want to try to make my own.
2. Am I the only one who asks Alexa if I am the fairest one of all?  I am always asking her questions and I couldn’t resist. The first time. she said I was, the second time, I wasn’t.
3. Joni Nelson is my heroine. She gets up at 3 AM daily to feed ferals in Boston, MA in all weather. Her recue is called Boston’s Forgotten Felines. You can follow them on Instagram, click here. Honestly, anyone who does anything to help cats is my hero.
4. If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life, it would be pizza. Meatball and mushroom would be great ( a little meat and a little vegetable).
I got Trouble a dress so she will be easier to photograph. I was also hoping she would be calmer in it.

  1. I don’t think I have ever heard of California Roll. I have heard of Lizard Roll. In the movie Shakiest Gun In The West, the hero tries a treat called Lizard Roll. Our kids used to call tortillas lizard roll just for fun. Have a blessed week.

  2. I’ve heard of California rolls, but have never had one.
Alexa was right with her first answer!
Joni sounds like a very sweet and dedicated lady. The kitties are blessed to have her in their lives.
Pizza would be a great forever food. I love pizza, too, but I chose shrimp for my answer. 🙂

Trouble is a pretty kitty. That is a cute dress, Trouble. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend, Ellen!

    1. I bet you would like it, but depending on if you like hot stuff, maybe hold the sauce.
      You are too sweet 🙂
Maybe there is a shrimp pizza. I hope you have a blessed weekend too. XO

  3. Trouble in a dress! Did she like it? Angel has enjoyed getting dressed up, with hats or sunglasses, but when I put her birthday hat on, she froze and ran away!

    1. Yes, she liked it, but my hubby thought she would be too hot so he took it off. Poor Angel, I guess she didn’t like the hat.

  4. Trouble looks cute in her dress – did it calm her down a bit? I’ve had California rolls before – I like regular sushi too. I’m sure you could make your own California rolls though…GO FOR IT! Anyone that does anything to help cats is a hero to me including YOU!

    Love, Pam

    1. Trouble thanks you. She did calm down with it on, but David took it off figuring she would be too hot.Thank you you are too sweet, I wish I did more than I do. XO and love to you and Teddy

  5. Trouble looks cute in her dress. I love sushi as long as it’s vegetarian or uses cooked fish. I don’t do the raw stuff! 🙂

    1. I don’t do fish, cooked or raw, but the chicken one was good and I think I would like a veggie one too.

  6. I always look forward to your fill-ins! I’ve never had a California roll. A chicken version sounds delicious. I’m always asking Alexa weird and random questions. I’ve never asked her this question before, though, so I’ll certainly be interrogating her on the matter today. Animal rescuers are some of my biggest heroes, too. And pizza is a perfect food to eat for the rest of your life! Plain and simple pepperoni is probably what I’d go for.

Trouble, you are stunning in your dress! You look more than ready to walk a red carpet. Happy Friday to all of you!

    1. Trouble thanks you. I was surprised by how good the California roll was. I hope you have a nice weekend.

  7. We had sort of a similar answer for #3. I picked pizza for #4 too. I love meatball pizza and I love mushroom pizza, but I never had them together. What a great idea. I’ll have to try it some time.

    Love Trouble’s dress! Very pretty.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Great minds think alike 🙂 Trouble thanks you. I hope you have a nice weekend too.

  8. SO likes to make futo maki (basically a California roll) with artificial crab and cucumber. He has a flexible little bamboo mat designed for rolling the nori sheet tight around the rice and all. And, even if it’s not the real thing here in the States, don’t forget the wasabi! ~grin~ Have you heard of Strayer in Oregon, and her Happy Cat Club? She’s amazing. https://catwomanflix.blogspot.com Be well!

    1. I asked my mom to get me one of those bamboo mats for my birthday. Thank you for the link I will check it out.

  9. Oh Trouble, you look so great in your nice new dress. I also would choose pizza to eat all the time. You all have a great day.

  10. I love meatballs and pizza, but have never heard of them together…. will advise my staff to plan testing this!
    Purrseidon >^.^<
PS: Ms. Ellen, Katsu and I would like to thank you for hosting this fun blog hop.

  11. Trouble looks so cute in her star dress (and near a telescope, too!). For favorite foods our mom was going to say ice cream, but pizza sounds pretty darn good. She likes hers with extra cheese, mushrooms and Hatch green chile. Yum!

  12. Mushrooms are a fungus…not a vegetable, but nonetheless, Mom says that pizza is a great choice for an only foot to eat. Trouble is so cute in her dress. Did it calm her? Clothing does just the opposite for us. Mom thinks that is so funny asking Alexa that question. She might try it and see what answer she gets. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    1. Thank you. It did calm her, but my hubby took it off because he thought she would be too hot. XO

  13. Trouble is beautiful in her new dress. Suits her perfectly.
Who is the amateur astronomer? You, your Mom or your Dad? Or Joanie. Mom’s eye zeroed right in on the Meade. One of my other favorite brothers has a telescope and he does a lot of photography through it. XXX

    1. Trouble thanks you. I got my hubby the telescope for Christmas, it is manual though so he can’t do photos. XO

  14. 1. I tried avocado as a child and I liked it.
    2. Am I the only one who uses their turn signal? ( major driving irritation )
    3. My sweet husband is my hero.
    4. If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life, it would be breakfast.
    (sorry….. I cannot just eat eggs )

    1. Great answers! I agree about the turn signal, sometimes my mom doesn’t use it and I tease her and tell her she is elderly so she is exempt. How sweet your hubby is you hero.

  15. Sorry, I just can’t figure that linky thing out-maybe someday when I have more time and patience. Your kitty is cute. My answers were posted yesterday to the fill-ins.

  16. Now we have to have Mom go see exactly what a California roll is – if it has chicken, we are all for it.

Trouble looks adorable in her pretty dress.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  17. Of course you are the fairest one of all! Alexa should know better than to answer otherwise.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday!

  18. Great fill ins! Pizza is delicious and the Tribe of Five have often tried to steal a some off the plates of The Humans. And Trouble is rocking the dress!
    Purrs & Head Bonks,
    Lily

  19. Trouble looks so cute but I love her own furs too. Great answers. TW thinks California rolls are sushi too and won’t ever try them. Actually mushrooms aren’t veggies; they’re fungi. Some are edible and some aren’t. TW learned not to use store-bought mulch on her garden quickly when the mushrooms started popping up unwanted. She says pizza is a wonderful choice. Birthday cake would prolly be her answer.

  20. Good Afternoon!
    1. I tried fried mush and I liked it!
    2. Am I the only one who can’t stand the smell of clam chowder?
    3. Shelly Roche is my hero/heroine. She runs a feral cat rescue in Langley, BC. You can see her passion at work on TinyKittens.com
    4. If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life, it would be homemade noodles… with mashed potatoes!

I kinda stole your idea on #2, Ellen. But I would have picked Shelly anyway. I want to check out your link to Joni Nelson. I have never had a California roll. Trouble looks sweet in her red dress! Hope it helps with calming her!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. What is fried mush? I am not big on seafood, but I don’t mind chowda. I will check out Shelly’s website, that God for people like her. The dress does calm her, but my hubby took it off of her because he thought she would be too hot. XO

  21. Trouble looks so adorable and stylish in that dress.

#3, King of Dwarves Thorin. Or Grand Admiral Thrawn of Star Wars. It’s a toss up. #4 FRIED CHICKEN!!!

  22. My Trouble has big eyes! Yes Black cats are hard to photograph. I don’t think we could get any of ours to wear a dress (especially the males). – Pizza is a good choice on the food.

  23. Trouble looks calm in that photo anyway, and so cute!
One food…that’s a tough one, I’m not sure I could choose. I might have to go with cinnamon rolls! LOL

  24. TBT here: *I* agree about pizza. I’ve seen discussions of this about this elsewhere. Some people want a favorite food like hamburgers, cake, or some comfort food. I’m too practical; If I get only one food, it has to be nutritionally balanced! So, I want a supreme pizza.

The crust for starch, pepperoni and sausage for protein (and salt), tomato sauce for veg, vitamin C and anti-oxidants, cheese for dairy, mushrooms for a long list of trace minerals, peppers and onions for more veg, black olives for other trace minerals and vitamins and healthy fat, and I’ll allow pineapple for the fructose and vitamins (I’ll pick them off separately before eating, LOL).

    And besides, I LIKE pizza.

  25. I didn’t know that about California rolls. I have only seen them at the sushi counters. I may have to try one. Thanks for the info!

  26. 1. I tried going to a Tigers baseball game and I liked it. ( I might go again in mid September…

    2. Am I the only one who likes to eat raw veggies most of the time? The peeps at work think I am strange, MOL!
    3. My hero/heroine. Honestly I don’t really have one…though like you said those who help furry ones in need are for sure.
    4. If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life, it would be ice cream!! Go figure!

That is a sweet dress that Trouble is wearing. Looks to be patriotic?

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Glad you enjoyed the baseball game. I have been and liked it, but it is too far away.
I prefer cooked veggies except in salad 🙂 Trouble does look patriotic. 🙂 XO
