Contest Winner, Easy to Make Cat Toy and Newtown, CT Booksale

Hi everyone- Monday again already! I am very excited today as I am off to the biggest book sale in my area- actually, it is an hour and a half away in Newtown, CT. My mom and I go every year, but we skipped last year as it seemed so sad after what happened at the school. On Wednesday, I am going to ROAR about a new shelter in memory of one of the children.

Monday is fun and games day and I have searched Pinterest for something easy and free to make for your kitty this week. I came up with this: http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/04/no-sew-socktopus.html . It is a simple octopus made out of an old sock and stuffed with polyfil ( or the other sock 🙂 ). Mine didn’t come out as cute as the one on the link , but here is Spooky with it:

016 The link above used google eyes glued on, but I thought it would be safer to stitch a couple on with embroidery floss.

And the winner of the laser and the IKEA mice is——Oui Oui ( make sure you share with your siblings). Congratulations and thanks to everyone who commented. I will be having another contest soon so please keep checking, or better yet, sign up to get the daily posts delivered to your email.

I am off to search for cat books, with about 120,000 books to choose from, I am sure I will find something.005Millie thinks I should wear these  today 🙂

  1. Concatulations to Oui Oui. What a great thing to win those goodies for her Gotcha Day yesterday! XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. Thanks for commenting – maybe you will win the next contest-keep trying.

  2. CONGRATULATIONS OUI OUI! That’s pretty neat considerin’ it was just her birthday and all. PURRfect timing, for sure.

The octopus is pretty cute. And what a super-smart thing your peep did by stitching the eyes instead of gluing googly ones on. SUPER-SMART, indeed.

  3. That looks like a fun toy. We’ll have the mom check out that site and see if she can make us one. Congrats to Oui Oui. How appropriate since yesterday was her Gotcha Day!

    1. I am sure your mom can make one- FYI-tell her not to use a sock with a terrycloth lining-too much lint.

  4. OMC! I can’t believe I won! Thank you SO much! What a nice Gotcha Day present! And thank you very much for supporting my fundraiser. Cause of kitties like you it was a real success! Heandbonks!
