ROAR for Winnie’s Wish

Wednesday is ROAR day, but first Phoebe wants to thank everyone for their purrs and prayers for her handsome purrince. He is on a special food that will hopefully make his tummy better.

This week’s ROAR is for Winnie’s  Wish. I donated 4 items that I hope will get some bids. There is still time for you to donate too:

Auction for Winnieswish

I added a post to the We Live Strong Today blog started by Ann of Zoolatry. It is a place to share stories of how cancer has effected you and/or those you love.

Two Perfect 10’s

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day and my first ROAR is to wish a happy 10th birthday to Joanie and Sammy. 005

I wish I had them all 10 years, but I didn’t adopt them until May 2010. It breaks my heart to know they had a 3rd sibling that was adopted before I got there.

There are so many cats in need out there. One is a cat named Ghost that was adopted by a couple that was homeless themselves and chose to share the few resources they have with this loveable guy. For GHOST and Family

And we donated to Boris the cat who is always raising money to help kitties in need, there is a youcaring fund located here: Boris

Phoebe will be here tomorrow, but she will probably be mad that she has to share a post with me.

Gone to the Dogs

Hi everyone! I have another beautiful graphic of Lucy that was made by Pipo and Minko’s Mom ( )

LucytributeThank you- it is wonderful just like Lucy.

For today’s ROAR, I want to show you what I made while I was grieving ( I still am) Lucy. My niece had a tag sale and I asked her for the t-shirts that didn’t sell so I could make dog toys. I don’t know how to crochet any dog toys, I tried to make a bone once, but the pattern was too difficult for me. 001 008I ended up making 52 of these- I was obsessed with ripping up the shirts and making these. When I ran out of shirts, I searched the house for any older ones to rip up ( my hubby has a few less undershirts now) .I have a little fabric left for about 10 more and then I will go back to crocheting. I highly recommend this as a stress reliever. I found the directions here:  . All these will be sold at the vet clinic where they sell my crocheted toys and all the money  goes to PAL. At least something good will come from my grief.

Penny wants to remind you to comment for a chance to win these Big Bang Theory/Soft Kitty socks – winner will be announced on Thursday’s Post- 010

I was sad to see another kitty went to the bridge ( )

Forever, Dorf

Lucy Update

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day, but I don’t have an actual ROAR.  I try to donate weekly to a shelter or cat in need, but this week, all our funds are for Lucy. Our appointment didn’t get us any answers, but they did blood work so maybe we will have an answer soon. I also made an appointment for her to get an ultrasound. There is a traveling one that is there at least once a month and will be there next Tuesday.

One good thing is that she maintained her weight from last week. They also gave her some of the pasty stuff I had trouble giving her which should firm up her stool. I just need to keep her eating for another week until the ultrasound.

014( She is sleepy, but at least she chose to be out in the livingroom with us)

Trout Talkin Tabbies suggested a Vitamin B-12 injection, but the vet wants to wait until after the ultrasound. Thank you Tabbies- I appreciate the suggestion and will push for this next week.  I appreciate everyone’s purrs and prayers.

In better news, my latest article in The Daily Mewz is posted. It is Stinky’s story:

Phoebe will be posting tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Thank you all for trying to help me yesterday with the syringe. Ann  ( ) and Flynn ( ) were familiar with it and helpful. I ended up breaking mine so I had to get a new one at the vet, they also showed me how to work it. My niece is the hospital manager so she made a note to tell all the techs that they need to show people how to use them before they leave with one.

Joanie wants me to tell you her tummy was featured on Katzenworld:

My ROAR this week is for The Animal Rescue Site. I know most of you are familiar with it, but in case you are not, you are missing out. It is a great place to shop for kitty items for your cat and for you and when you do, you are also helping to feed shelter animals.

I recently purchased a ring for myself for $12.95 and in doing that, it buys 14 bowls of food. My hubby and I outgrew our original wedding bands a long time ago. About 10 years ago, I bought some cheap bands to wear with the hope we would someday be able to wear the originals. We only wear them when we go out and I guess I go out more than he does because mine is all scratched. I thought a ring with paw prints would be a good replacement. I would display mine on my hand, but apparently I have already outgrown this one : I am pretty sure it will fit when the humidity goes away and my hand isn’t as puffy.

We are praying for more sick friends: Purrs and Prayers for Minnie

and our friend LadyBird needs prayers too:

Power of the Paw for LadyBird

Phoebe and Lucy are having a giveaway tomorrow. 001

Wednesday’s ROAR

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day and I am still ROARing for Billy of Meezer Tails. He has a lot of medical isues and may need an eye removed. I know many of you have already helped, but I thought I would keep spreading the word:

Purrs and Prayers for Billy SweetFeets

I am off to Dakin in Springfield, MA. Someone asked me if I could help get her cat fixed so of course I said yes. She paid the $50, but I did the transporting. Dakin keeps the females overnight so I need to go get her today. Do you know of any places that do that?

Phoebe is still on vacation, having a great time with Flynn and her purrince and so many others. Joanie or one of the kitties will write the post tomorrow.

Double ROAR

Happy Wednesday everyone! I have a double ROAR today. First off is Bootsie and I am sure most of you have already done your part, but I thought I would spread the word some more. In addition to the You Caring Fund: there is also an auction- and the item I donated has no bids 🙁  There are some other items without bids too so please check it out: Auction+for+BOOTSIE

Last I read, he was still in need of a foster home – living in a storm drain is never good, especially when you are already sick.

I also want to let you know about another fund to help a blind cat named Nala. I saw on the website that there is a gofund me for her called Nala’s eye surgery,   I wanted to donate, but I can’t find that page so I will have to wait for more information- I will keep you posted.

Even if you can’t donate, prayers are always good and purrs too. Make sure you comment for a chance to win some catnip toys ( I still need to make them) and this catnip mat made special for The Perseid’s Meteor shower tonight. It looks like it is going to be clear so I guess I better have lots of coffee to be awake from 1-3 AM. 015Snowball is modeling with it016Phoebe will announce the winner tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day and I have 2 ROARS. The first one is for Bootsie, many of you read about him at Brian’s Home which is where I read of his plight and decided to donate.  Here is the link to his funding page and his story :

I also want to remind everyone that The Winnie’s Wish Fundraiser is still going on and for $18 you can get some really cool gifts for your kitties.

005Phoebe will be here tomorrow to tell you about her week. And Friday, Lucy and I will be telling you about an excellent children’s book.

More sadness in The Cat Blogosphere this week. Cats of Wildcat Woods ( ) said good-bye to their sweet Ivy.

Ivy, Forever [Small]She was an inspiration to FIV cats everywhere, surviving for 17 years.

This week’s ROAR isn’t actually about cats, but I thought some of you may be interested. A while back, I told you about couponsfortroops:

It is a group anyone can join to send coupons to American service families that are stationed overseas. That group closed and a new one has taken over: . For the cost of a U.S. stamp, you can mail coupons to a family overseas. I always mail pet food ones as well as food and household products. All you need to do is go to the website and fill out a simple form, after that, they will send you the address of a family.

Congratulations to Pipo and Minko ( ) for being the first to get all 6 answers correct on the toxic/non-toxic plant quiz. They won a catnip ice cream cone and a chicken leg.

Phoebe will be here tomorrow with a new poem and photo of her purrince.
