Wednesday’s ROAR

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day and my ROAR is for Franklin County Animal Rescue in Vermont :

I made a donation in memory of sweet Truffles:

Today is the last day to comment for a chance to win that Friskies Pull ‘n Play:

Phoebe will announce the winner tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I have 2 ROARS today. I was only able to donate to one so far, but I said I would spread the word. First off, Phoebe wants to thank everyone for all the good wishes for her Gotcha Day!

002Thank you everyone for making my day so special and Grammie thank you for the  treats- I love you so very much. Mom’s turn now- Phooey!

I donated to help our friend Lexi get meds for her UTI, but she needs continued support for her kidney disease so her Mom set up a fundraiser:

Our friends over at Sqeedunk Whiskers and Warehouses has started Pad Paws to help rescue cats. Donations can be made at:

Phoebe will be back tomorrow.

ROAR for Weruva

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day and I have the best ROAR yet. I also have a couple other mini ROARs too.

We won a giveaway that our friends Ashton, Newton and Pierre had ( ) . We won 2 cases of Weruva cat food for my little piggies kitties AND $100 worth of Weruva for the shelter of our choice which was PAL ( ). Winning this made me so happy because I started blogging to be able to help shelters and I would never be able to donate this much on my own. I feel like I have been on a caffeine high since I found out that we won. Thank you CatsHerdYou and Weruva!

A few days ago I got an email from someone with a Kickstarter campaign for a comic book about cat rescue that will help rescues. I always answer every email I get about things like that ( not that I get many). I checked out the campaign and pledged $8 which helps and I will also get a copy of the book when it comes out. For $5, you can get the digital copy. I love it when people use their God-given gifts to helps kitties. Here is the link if you are interested:

And one more thing for the 4th of July, The blog Herding Cats and Burning Soup had a link to a big auction to support our troops so I wanted to share that link too:

Phoebe will be here tomorrow and Friday Lucy and I will be telling you about Toto the Tornado Kitten’s latest book which I actually got to listen to being read by his owner:

Happy Wednesday everyone! My ROAR this week is for PAL ( People for Animals) . I have ROARED for them several times already, but they are my favorite rescue because they are small, yet do so much and never turn any cat away like some of the larger rescues do when they are “full”.

As you know, I crochet cat toys and they get sold at the local VCA vet clinic, all the money goes to PAL. I rounded up 2 more boxes of items while decluttering so I offered the items to them for their tag sale. The shelter gets all the cats examined and fixed at VCA so I left the items there for Sandy ( the shelter owner) to pick up. My niece is the clinic manager so I left them right outside her office door. Now for a funny coincidence

I had a few Lionel train items in the boxes that had belonged to my Dad. I am not into trains so I figured the rescue could make some money on them. There was a popcorn tin, a tin sign and a mini lunch box. My niece got to work and spotted the tin and decided it would be perfect to store the clinic cat’s food in- his name is Lionel 🙂 Then she thought the lunch box would be great for storing his bow tie collection. That made my day, I love it when something I no longer want or need can have new life and be appreciated.

I also think it is great that my vet’s office has a clinic cat. He was brought in for euthanization because he had a lot of medical issues. Luckily the staff loved him and Lionel became the clinic cat. I wish every clinic did this, it would save a lot of kitties.

Phoebe will see you tomorrow, she is working on a 4th of July giveaway. Well, right now she is hiding under the covers on the bed because we had a thunderstorm a few hours ago. And thank you for all the purrs and prayers for Spooky, he is a lucky guy to have so many friends out there. 006He even decided to celebrate Box Day ( a little late).

ROAR for Goodsearch

Happy Wednesday everyone! It is a happy day here- Lucy’s blood work was perfect which is amazing being that she is 16. I was very relieved to get that news. Thank you all for the purrs and prayers. I hope she doesn’t make the connection that she gets pain meds when she pees in bad places or I could have a  problem. We have been calling her Nurse Jackie. I will keep you posted on Spooky, but his test isn’t until Thursday so I won’t know until late Friday.

This week I have something everyone can do to help cats and it won’t cause you anything. Most of you have probably heard of .It is run by Google but to look up something you go to goodsearch instead and it donates to a charity of your choice for every search. There is also a shopping section and money gets donated from there as well. I typed in “cat” and over 150 shelters were registered. I looked at the list and chose one in Massachusetts called the Ellen Gifford Cat Shelter. I know a lot of my readers are involved with shelters, you may want to tell them to register so they can get donations too.

Joanie thanks you for all the tummy rubs yesterday. Phoebe will be writing tomorrow and she is putting together a giveaway.

Happy Wednesday everyone. Thank you all for your input yesterday on places to buy pet meds at good prices. This week’s ROAR is for Georgie from Cats of Wildcat Woods.

Purrs and Prayers for Georgie

As most of you probably know she is being fed with a feeding tube and is suffering from fatty liver disease. Her bill is quite high so if anyone wants to donate to help, this is the link: Oa7tnMo1DW6_S8HeMC&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d99e4111b56ef0eae45e68b8988f5b2dd

I donated $10 which is what I usually donate. I do hope one of these days I figure out a way to make money with this blog so I can donate more.

Please stop by to visit Phoebe tomorrow. She had a rough day today and is still hiding from the heavy rains we had earlier today- she didn’t even want her supper.

ROAR for Texas Kitties

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day, but first I will give you a Spooky update. Unfortunately, the vet I wanted is on vacation so I left a message with another vet that had dealt with Spooky in the past. She called back when I wasn’t here and my hubby took the call. All I got out of him was that she didn’t think he could have that. I guess I have to wait until next week to check with the other vet. Thank you all for your input and suggested links yesterday. I am going to print some of that out to back my theory when I call back. Also thanks for the purrs and prayers.

Now on to the ROAR-as most of you know, Texas has been getting a lot of rain and floods which has displaced many families and pets. Miss Sneakers of The Opinionated Pussycat has made a list of several shelters that are helping these pets and are in need of help: . Each one has many ways listed on their website to help. The first one I clicked on was Hill County Paw Pals and they are connected to Amazon Smile. Whenever I use Amazon, I go through Amazon Smile and the next time I do, I will make sure they get the donation.

Be sure to visit Phoebe tomorrow, she had me crochet a big fish that would be great for bunny kicking and she plans to have a giveaway.

ROAR for Radish

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day, but first something fun-many of you probably already know about this, but if you have a rescue cat ( most of us do) then you can enter Jackson Galaxy’s contest to win $100 worth of Petmate toys for your kitty. Just upload a photo with a short rescue story to enter:

This week’s ROAR is for a shelter cat named Radish that was saved by Layla Morgan White of Cat Wisdom 101. Poor Radish was on the Kill list and she rescued him, but he needs medical attention. Here is the link to donate to:

Prayers are always welcome too.

Sammy is very sad, he didn’t pass his Botany exam for Cat Scouts.001

Phoebe will see you all tomorrow. And safe travels to all of you that are headed to Blog Paws.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I have a lot of ROARs today. I can’t afford to donate to all of them, but I figured I could spread the word and maybe you all could as well. And prayers are always nice too.

First off, Boris the kitty ( I think you all know him) is raising money for a shelter cat that hurt his paw when he managed to escape to another part of the shelter- truly living up to his name of Rascal:

And Harvey of Dash Kitten had to have ear surgery because of cancer:

And Timmy the Tomcat recently posted about this poor kitty who was pulled from death row in NYC and was doing well in her forever home until mammary tumors were discovered.

I am going to make a small donation to one of these, I wish I could do all. I am not going to say which one though because they are all equally important.

Phoebe will see you tomorrow.004

Today is ROAR day and I want to ROAR for TEAMTNR which was a favorite charity of Nerissa the Cat. I know if Nerissa found it to be a worthy organization then it certainly was. I made a donation in his memory, many of you probably did the same, but here is the link for anyone still interested:

And the winner of the Fat Cats book and catnip toys is Manx MNews:  Congratulations Annabelle, Boo, Ping and Mr. Jinx.

This is the last day to sign up for the Traveling bikini-Phoebe will announce tomorrow where it is off to first:
