Hi everyone! Today is day I of the A-Z Blogging Challenge. I is for Insurance. If I only had one or two cats, I would buy them insurance, but I can’t afford it for my entire crew. There are several companies offering pet insurance now and they all have their pros and cons. Here are two links to websites that break them down. Consumeradvocate and Top10Pet Insurance
Hi everyone! Please don’t tell Penny that today is supposed to be her day to post. Today we are focusing on the letter H in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. To see more blogs participating in the A-Z hop, click here.
Today is more of a warning than a money saving tip. Most of you buy your flea and tick products from the veterinarian which is much safer. This is one area, I don’t recommend cutting costs Some still buy products over the counter at places like Walmart. One of the big brands is Hartz, and I am warning you to not buy those products. I have read many horror stories about cats getting burns and even dying after these products were applied. Here is a reputable link for you to read more about it.Click here
Trouble wanted to try a different hat/ears. We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and The Pet Parade. We are also joining Sabi Saturday, the new hop my Cactus Catz. You show something you have rescued from the trash or something you repurposed. To find out more, click here.
For my art this week, I have some masterpieces The Great One and I made this week with more paint chips 🙂
And for my Sabi Saturday is a bunny statue that I got for free. Someone had a bunch of things out in their yard marked free and this bunny was one of them. He has a small chip on his ear on the other side, but when sitting like this, he is perfect.
And for The A-Z Blogging Challenge, we are on the letter F. F is for fluids, i realize most of you don’t need these for your cats, but many cats have kidney disease and do require subcutaneous fluids to be given at home. We did this for Spooky and Phoebe. I follow Frugalwoods blog and recently there was a post with cost saving tips for pets and someone wrote they get the fluids from a regular pharmacy like CVS instead of through the vet. I have done this with pills, but never fluids- apparently it is a lot cheaper, $2 versus $30 from the vet. Here is a link to the article. Click here.
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for more Catburry Bunny auditions.

Hi everyone! Before we get started we want to give our condolences to Colehaus Cat on the loss of beautiful Miss Newton. If you haven’t already visited, click here.
Today is D day for the A-Z Blogging Challenge. D is for discount care plans. I recommend asking your vet if they have one. Our vet is a VCA and they offer them. I admit I haven’t signed up for one because I can’t afford to do it for each cat. If you only have one or two kitties , it is a wise choice. You pay a set monthly fee that covers vet visits, exams, dentals, etc. All items are discounted, but if your cat passes away, you still have to keep paying monthly or you have to pay full price for any exams already used. This is the link for the VCA care club.
We are also joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. KaTwo is happy for clean sheets on her bed.
Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo prompt.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. The highlight of my week is ______________________.
Hi everyone! Today is day C of the A-Z Blogging Challenge. C is for coupons, the Sunday paper always has some for litter and cat foods. If you don’t get the paper, you can check online. Here are some sites I found with printable coupons: LOZO has several including $2 off Rachel Ray Cat Food, $3 off Purina One and some litter coupons too. Click here. There were several for dog food on there too.
Fancy Feast has coupons on their website- click here
Coupon Mom has several cat food ones too. click here
These are just some to get you started. If you go to the website of your preferred brand, they may have some too.
Hi everyone! Penny is here today with tips, but not Penny’s tips. These are tips to keep your cat healthy and save money. Today we are focusing on the letter B.
To see more blogs participating in the A-Z hop, click here.
B is for brushing. If you brush your cat’s teeth at least 3 times a week, you can prevent dental issues. This is better for your cat’s health and your wallet because dentals at the vet and extractions are costly.
I am guilty of not doing this, but I am going to try. I know already some cats like KaTwo and Polar Bear won’t let me, but I will try on Joanie and Sammy. As you can see from the photo, Penny is a good candidate too. Every time my cats go for a dental, they come home with a toothbrush and a sample of toothpaste. I found a great website that gives instructions. You don’t even need a kit, you can dilute hydrogen peroxide in water ( 25% peroxide to 75% water) , dip a cloth in it and rub it on your cat’s teeth. For more information, click here.
Unfortunately, some cats are more prone than others to plaque buildup so may still require dentals, but hopefully, less often.
Brushing your cat’s fur at least once a week is also a good idea. The more you brush, the less they ingest which means fewer furballs.
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
