Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that I had the kids over this past Sunday. Typhoid Mary was happy to get her slime making fix- she made 7 bowls of the stuff.

I am thankful to you all for the purrs and prayers for Penny. Please keep them coming.

Today is brought to you by the letter N for The A-Z Blogging Challenge .

N is for my angel Noel. She was another deal where someone had a baby and no longer wanted her. It was another student I tutored (I seem to have gotten a lot of cats that way). She was with us from 2006 until 2019 when we lost her to cancer.

N is also for Nicolas Cage. Which most of you know is my favorite actor. And the only thing on my bucket list is to meet him. So far, the wax version is as close as I could get.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. If I had to choose a fictional world to live in it would be _______________________.
2. _________________________ is a book or movie that changed my life.
3. As a kid, I gave _________ the name _________.
4. If I had a parrot, I would teach it to say _________.

  1. Ahahaha seven bowls, that’s a load of slime! Noel is one gorgeous kitty! And that’s a funny picture of you with the wax Nicholas Cage, I didn’t even know there was one! XO

    1. The kid really likes her slime. 🙂 Thank you. 🙂 I think there is a newer version now with his receding hairline. XO

  2. I just saw on Instagram that Nicolas Cage was one of the most giving individuals on earth, supporting those poorer than others who needed help, contributing to medical costs of others, giving, giving, and giving. And could mama have the recipe for slime, please?

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Slime is a mix of glue, activator ( borax and water) , food color and shaving cream. They just like the feel of it, I think. XO

  3. The wax museum had a lifelike Nicholas Cage! And all of the kitties that have lived with you, they’ve enjoyed a Wonderful Life and great care. 10 15 or 20 years just never seems enough.

  4. That’s a lot of slime, and what do you do with it? Maybe we should call Ghost Busters! Sweet pic of Angel Noel, and that’s a great picture of you and the wax Nicholas Cage!

    1. The kids like to play with it, but she has made so much she could sell it. 🙂 Thank you. 🙂 xO

  5. Many many many purrs and prayers for Penny. XXOO

You made me smile all the way around my head when you showed us how close you were to Nic Cage! I LOVED that!

Angel Noel, I remember you, XXX

  6. I cannot understand giving up a pet after you have a baby. It makes no sense.

  7. Slime, slime everywhere! I’m glad the children had fun.

    Angel Noel was precious.

  8. So many more prayers for Penny♥ And a wonderful thing that Noel landed with you. That was a good long time to have been loved by you and been in a forever home. She was a beautiful girl. I do hope you get to meet Nicolas Cage!

  9. Seven bowls?? What does she make with that much slime? Yikes. You’re definitely Aunt of the Year in my books. Noel was such a pretty kitty.

  10. Noel was a gorgeous cat and lucky to have you to take her in. Whatever does one do with that much slime? Ellen, our mom loves the photo of you with wax Nic Cage. He is super tall. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali

    1. Thank you. She just leaves it here and plays with it when she visits. He is tall, over 6 feet. I think he was on a stand because I am 5 ft 10 inches. XO

  11. Oona: “Seven bowls of slime, that is impressive! You will definitely have a full complement of slime catapults should you need to defend your stronghold against invaders. Oona approves!”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, can we eat the slime? Asking for a friend …”
Lulu: “Don’t drag me into this.”

    1. Thanks Oona. Probably not Java if the activator is made with Borax, but I guess it is ok if made with baking soda. 🙂
