Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-ins, but first the winner of our Hartz SqueezUps GIveaway is The Catholic Cat– Congratulations!

1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was _______________________.
2. For breakfast, I have ___________________.
3. An instrument I would like to play is .
4. I always try to , because .
My answers:
1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was the swings. I wish I could have a giant swing now.
2. For breakfast I have waffles with butter ( the frozen kind)- I know it is not healthy, but that is what I like. My Mom keeps telling me to stop having awful waffles 🙂
3 An instrument I would like to play is the piano. I got a free piano from Craigslist 11 years ago and I took lessons for a year and a half, but now I use it as a buffet in the dining room.I have no musical ability.
4. I always try to tell my Mom, hubby and niece that I love them daily because you never know when you may not get that chance.
Before I go, please check out Coach Daddy’s 6 words this month is Our Greatest Adventures. You can read about mine and many others. Click here.
We like yours because they make sense fer you..
But for us:
1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was spinning tops and yo-yoing.
2. For breakfast, I have a sandwich. Well, I seldom get up in time for breakfast .
3. An instrument I would like to play is anything that doesn’t demand breathing or fingers. That does sort of limit the possibilities.
4. I always try to do something useful every day, because living here myself, no one is going to help and entropy does not work in my favor. .
Thank you for these great answers. I could never do a yo-yo. You are lucky the kitties let you sleep so late. How about the drums?
Good idea to do something useful daily. Have a nice weekend!
Congratulations to The Catholic Cat!
I’ve always wanted to be able to play music, but never had the opportunity for lessons when I was a child. Now, my memory is such that I don’t think I could learn and retain the information necessary to make a good player. How cool that you were able to get free lessons through Craigslist!
I agree 100% with your #4. None of us knows what tomorrow – or even the next hour – holds. We need to always let them know that we love them and never leave or go to sleep on an angry note.
Have a blessed weekend, Ellen. 🙂
I had to pay for lessons, but I got the piano free from someone on Craigslist. I hope you have a blessed weekend too. XO
Congratulations to your winner!
Too bad we can’t get together for a good swinging. I want a glider on my porch up North, when we retire. I want to just sit and swing. I had to laugh at your fancy buffet (piano). Well, you gave it a go. Saying you love your special people is important. That is why I try to do things like say how I feel, hugs those I love, and share. I want people to know I cared, without a doubt. Even friends. HUGS.
That would be fun to swing. I still try to play simple songs from the practice book once in a while and I hope the great one will want to learn. It is always good to let people know you care. XO
Concats to the winner of your giveaway!
1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was the swings, followed by the giant slide! And in the winter they flooded the grass there so we could go skating…now *that* was fun!.
2. For breakfast, I have a green smoothie or steelcut oats, or a mixture of various seeds and nuts. Sometimes I incorporate those into the smoothie or the oats. I make the steel cut oats in a wide mouth thermos so I don’t have to stand around and wait for them to cook…
3. An instrument I would like to play is the Pipe organ…I used to play the violin, and my sons took piano lessons, and one took organ also. I know how to play three blind mice on the piano, MOL! Hopeless dream about the pipe organ…MOL!!! Mostly I just fine tune the radio:) .
4. I always try to do my very best, because you nevfur know who might be looking over your shoulder! .
Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. That must have been fun to get to iceskate. You are so good about breakfast. I am sure you could get pipe organ lessons somewhere, but not sure where you could practice. I like your answer to #4. Have a nice weekend!m XO
You are right, you never do know what life will bring, so always take the time to tell the people you love how you feel.
Everyone should do that. 🙂
We never know what tomorrow will hold. That is why it is best to tell those we love that we love them. That is also why we should not allow harsh words to come between us. We never know what words will be the last ones our loved ones will hear us say. Have a great week.
That is so true. I hope you have a great weekend.
Mom says you have pianos and swings in common – along with lots of other things! Mom bought a waffle iron some years ago and it was so much trouble to use she buys the frozen ones which are delicious and a lot easier to do. HAHA
Love, Teddy
Great minds think alike, we do have a lot in common. XO and love to you both
I like those frozen waffles too, but I don’t have them very often. I suppose a piano makes an excellent buffet! 🙂
It does make an excellent buffet, it is a smaller sized and when closed it is flat.
Those are some great answers to the fill-ins. Our Mom always wanted to play the piano too, but never made it. You all have a great day.
It is never too late, she could still take lessons.
Purrhaps I should send Purrseidon for a musical visit and the 2 of you could purrsue piano lessons together ;-)))
That would be fun 🙂
Hooray for swings! Those were always my favorite, too. Though I don’t eat them anymore, my sister still loves frozen waffles. Evan always walks around the kitchen with her, demanding butter. I learned to play the piano as a child and loved it. I have unfortunately gotten out of practice over the past few years, but hope to pick it up again in the future. And what a beautiful answer to #4. That is something everyone should get in the habit of doing. Thank you for hosting these fun fill-ins! I always look forward to them!
Joanie, Brody and Prancie always want my butter too 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Great answers! I think my Dad can play most every musical instrument.!
That is impressive.
We have the same answers for #1 and #3. I think if I had a giant swing in my yard, it would be filled with cats. LOL Have a great weekend!
Great minds think alike 🙂
Ellen I love your fill in answers. Especially #4…so true!!
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. XO
Telling those you love that you love this is ever so important. I do this often and you’re right you just never know.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to all the babies. ☺
Thank you. I hope you have a great weekend too!:)
Our mommy used to play the piano and the clarinet but that was so long ago we doubt she’d remember how. We hope you all have a great weekend!
Thank you, we hope you have a great weekend too.
I’ve been known to eat those waffles, too. We have a waffle maker, but that’s just too much effort! 🙂
The frozen ones are just as good 🙂
Congratulations, Catholic Cat!
Wonderful fill-ins this week! Our Mom’s not big on breakfast so in our minds, that should mean more for us. Sadly, she says that’s not how it works. Interesting about your piano. Our Mom wishes she knew how to play that, too, but wonders honestly, how much musical talent she actually has, as well. We like your last fill-in especially, and think that’s very important! Thank you for hosting these every week!
I am glad you enjoy the fill-ins. You never know until you try, your Mom should try the piano.
Great answers! We had the same for one and three!
The Florida Furkids
Great minds think alike 🙂
TW always buys the frozen waffles with blueberries cos blueberries are healthy, right? #4 is good and I do it cos after 9/11 anything can happen when Pop goes into NYC every morning.
I get the blueberry too so I guess that makes me a health nut 🙂 Very true , I am sure TW worries about him every day. XO
For some reason, wildly swinging things give me anxiety attacks. ~shakes head~ It could be worse. I’ve read about other sufferers who can’t even wear a necklace! I just can’t look up inside many stores with hanging signs blown by the ventilation. I turn my face from porch and tire swings while driving.
I have not heard of that, but anything can cause one if it upsets you.
It’s funny … I took piano lessons and then begged my parents to quit when they made me take private violin lessons. I didn’t like the violin – and I wasn’t good at it – but I played it all through high school. When I quit that … what did I do? Went back to playing piano and teaching myself the cello. I truly liked playing both – but I haven’t had either available for years so I kind of try to forget about it. I always struggled with coordinating my hands though … when one hand had a lot of work – I’d slow down to add the second. Still, I enjoyed it 🙂
It sounds like you have a solid music background. You should take one of them up again. 🙂
I never really learned to read music, so my piano-and flute-playing days were short. I once spun on the swings at lunch so much that I made myself too dizzy to stay in school! I love to travel, until that moment when I have to say good-bye to The Hubby and kitties. Then, I want to stay at home!
Reading music is easier to learn as a child, I couldn’t pick it up as an adult.
Swings never stop being awesome.
I agree 🙂
Great answers, we love your #4 ! Purrs
Thank you 🙂 XO
Very nice answers.
Thanks for sharing and for coming by my blog.
Thank you for participating.:)
Great answers and concatulations to the lucky winners!
Thank you 🙂
The extremely dangerous merry go round that you pushed and jumped on and off of as well as stood in the middle of.
Cereal or leftovers, brunch is another matter altogether.
The guitar, started as a tween, never got a guitar to continue on.
Find something good about the day because otherwise, disaster.
I love waffles too and have them often. Also loved the swings and remember fighting over the two swings available to us on the playground in grade school.
Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. I forgot about that merry go round, it was fun. You should take some guitar lessons, you are never too old.
Fun answers. And #4 is the best!
Thank you 🙂
