Tummy Tuesday

Happy Tummy Tuesday everyone! First, a medical update. Spooky is doing well taking his antibiotic for lyme disease. Unfortunately, it does give him diarrhea, but I think he can tough it out to get rid of that lyme. He is much perkier than he had been and does seem to move quicker. One day he jumped on my hubby’s lap and stuck his head in the potato chip bag in a botched attempt to get one. He also got to the top of the cellar steps before my hubby and hubby had a head start.

I was hoping he would walk better, but I guess he really does have arthritis. I have tried several treats and supplements with the glucosamine, but they all upset his tummy. I am glad he is showing some improvement and he has definitely put on some weight since being on the thyroid medicine. The next step is to get his dental, the vet wasn’t concerned about his high blood pressure because bp goes down when they are under. I just need to get my cheap frugal CHEAP husband to agree.

And now for those tummies: 021Joanie wanted to do a patriotic one for the 4th of July

And Phoebe is jealous about all the attention Joanie’s belly gets so she wants you to admire hers as well:003

See you tomorrow for our ROAR and we will tell you about the amazing prize we won- you may have already read about it on the blog we won it from.

  1. Love those bellies!
You both are going to gt lots of rubs:!

Fourth of July *is* soon, but furst we here in Michigan, get to celebrate meowmy;s homeland’s Birthday: Canada Day!
We hope its not raining so we can watch the Maple Leaf Flag flutter in the breezes.

    1. Thank you, I have not tried coconut oil with him. I tried to give it to a couple other kitties for skin problems and they acted like I was squeezing lemon on them. What kind did you use? Joanie and Phoebe thank you.

  2. I’m glad Spooky is kicking Lyme disease’s butt – sending purrs his way. It sounds like he has lots of issues he’s battling.

  3. Thank you for the update on Spookey! I’m sorry to hear that he’s diarrhea – I hope he’ll recover soon!! Sounds like the diarrhea is solely caused by the antibiotics though, so I wouldn’t worry.

Oh, poor Phoebe, you belly is admirable as well!!

  4. Look at those tummies! So beautiful.

Glad to hear the Lyme disease is under control. Those nasty ticks… They have some explaining to do, for sure. MO– USES!

    Purrs,

    1. Joanie and Phoebe say thank you. I am still earning about cat lyme disease. It is odd how it affects humans in so many ways and causes different symptoms. Some recover immediately with antibiotics and some don’t-very strange.

  5. Jumping on a lap and stealing chips is a very good sign of health improvements !
Pookie’s teeth were all taken out, now she can’t get any infection anymore, ever since she eats better and even has put on some weight !

    1. I am glad Pookie is feeling better. I think Spooky will be happier after a dental. That is funny their names rhyme πŸ™‚

    1. Spooky, Phoebe and Joanie all thank you. And I noticed that too when I like something the thumb goes down- very strange.

  6. I recommend some probiotics for Spooky, since the antibiotics are not only killing the Lyme stuff, but it’s killing the good bacteria in his gut. May help with the poopy issue. We also discovered “CannaCompanion” for pain; just suggesting because it’s medical hemp and it also aids with digestion and some other issues. Can you ask the vet for a discount on the dental, just this once? I know it’s hard to ask for stuff like that, but do it for the kitties sake…again, just a suggestion. The floofy tummies are glorious; I’d be huffing them if I were there in person!

    1. The vet office had discount dentals earlier this year which we took advantage of so I doubt they would do it again- but, it never hurts to ask. I will look into CannaCompanion- thank you πŸ™‚

  7. Try putting a little pumpkin in his noms. Just a little plain pumpkin (no spices in it). Carmine and Milita get pumpkin everyday for the fiber and it helps them stay regular. πŸ™‚ They don’t mind it in the food at all.

As far as the arthritis, I use Codequin for cats for Carmine, but if glucosamine upsets his tummy, maybe you could ask your vet for Adequan injections for him instead. Jewel was getting those for her arthritis. They cost $20 an injection at my vet, but I’m not sure what other vets charge.

    1. Thanks for letting me know about those injections, I never heard of them. I will need to see if they have tummy side effects because his tummy is touchy. I thought pumpkin was for constipation and I have tried it with the kitties, but only Joanie, who doesn’t need it seemed to eat it. Kitties can be difficult. Thanks for the tips.

    Hugs, Sammy

    1. Phoebe says thank you and Joanie is a bit offended. Spooky is almost done with the medicine and I am sure he will be fine. The one time I forgot to give it to him, he went to the bathroom regular.

  12. Phoebe has a fabulous cat tummy! I don’t have a cat, but my friend has 9 and I go visit hers for my cat fix. I’m pretty sure if my neighbor friend didn’t have kitties for me to visit I would have one of my own. I have owned them in the past and likely will again.

    1. Thanks for visiting us. I am happy to hear your neighbor has 9 kitties, I hope you decide to get one-or 2 someday πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚ We were pleasantly surprised to see that we were featured πŸ™‚ Happy 4th!
