Hi everyone! Apparently Mom got the hint when I left a plastic eyeball in her shoe. If I didn’t get to write my post today, it was going to be her eyeball in the shoe next time.
I sent my mom outside to get me a slug and instead she comes in with all these peaches. I don’t have a tip for peaches-unless you make them into a pie then you may want my pie crust tip. Click here.
She isn’t too bright. She was digging for slugs until Dad explained those are grubs. Slugs are not in the ground. We don’t have any slugs around, but if you do, you can repel them with pennies. They need to be made before 1983 ( that counts me out) because it is the copper content in them that repels the slugs. You can read how to make a penny ball for your garden. Click here
See you next week!
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Great tip!! Those peaches look very nommy!
The Florida Furkids
Thank you 🙂
Old pennies repel slugs? What a great idea, we do get some of those around here.
Pennies for the pie crust is a lot better than buying those expensive ceramic pie crust weights, too.
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for the tip Penny! I hope one day to have a garden and then all tips are welcome.
Thank you 🙂 I hope you get that garden in the near future.
That’s a good tip! My human has always been a little sad because peaches don’t grow well here – she has always wanted a tree.
Thank you 🙂 I wish we could give you some peaches.
OMC! I am hungry for a yummy and juicy peach!
That penny ball looks like it would be a nice project to make and try. There are way too many of those yucky slugs here…not to mention other ‘beasties’ that want to gobble up my patio garden. Got to get out the eggshells…and somewhere I do have diatomaceous earth…and yes we have beer too. Drunk slugs, MOL, MOL!!
As long as Dalton & Benji don’t try to have at it:)
Thank you 🙂 I did not know egg shells would work too. XO
Oh my! Those peaches look fabulous! Lucky you……..peach pie, peach cobbler, peach tart, peach ice cream…….yum! Thanks for the tip on slugs (ick).
Hugs, Teddy
Thank you 🙂 XO
Oh, my goodness! Look at those peaches! It’s so hard to find good ones at the grocery store – I’ve just plain given up. Penny, we know you’d never ACTUALLY take your Mom’s eye …
I was just teasing her 🙂
Those peaches look sooooo yummy. Thanks for that tip Penny. Interesting that they need to be made before 1983. Anyway, you all have a fantastic day.
Thank you 🙂 There was more copper in the older ones. XO
I don’t have to worry about slugs because we don’t see them here… lots of lizards though. But still interesting about the pennies and good to pass on to others so thank you. Those peaches look beautiful. I love to eat a peach over the kitchen sink when it is so ripe and sweet that it drips juice down to my elbows! Good Morning!
These are nice and juicy 🙂 XO
I will be making that penny ball I always get slugs in my flowers. Thanks for the post.
Thank you 🙂 Nice to hear from you. XO
Yepper. The content of coinage changed drastically…the saddest for mommy was when they dropped all silver in the silver coins and nickel in the nickel coins.
That is sad. XO
Slugs, grubs…they are gross, either way! We haven’t seen many slugs this year, but I play with wee snails when I can…even feed them bits of cat kibble.
Really? 🙂
Great idea for all of the gardeners.
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for the great tip and those peaches look yummy!
Thank you 🙂
We didn’t know that about slugs and pennies, we have both here MOL!
Give it a try 🙂
Very interesting tip Penny. The peaches look so good:)
Thank you 🙂
I always enjoy your tips, Penny. You’re a very smart kitty and you sure know how to get moms attention.
Oh yummy on those peaches.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. My best to your mom. ♥
Thank you 🙂 Happy Tuesday! XO
Wow, that is a very interesting information about pennies!
That is a lot of peaches and they look so fresh 🙂
Thank you 🙂 Just picked peaches.
Great tip, Penny. I thought the slugs were able to read about the year, you know, as in old slugs…MOL 😀 The peaches look so delicious and what a big crob you have…yummy. Now I have a tip for you, sweet girl, you have to go in business, with so much peaches 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Healthy Tuesday to all of you💗💗💗
PS Tell your mom that we updated the Artwork for the Puzzle. Now we’re talking huh😻
Thank you 🙂 And mom thanks you and sends kisses for the puzzle. XO
When I was a child, the only beer in our house was for pouring into a jar lid. Slugs would crawl in and die overnight. Yuck. 🙂 Be well!
That is funny. 🙂

Yummy, look at all those peaches!
It was a good year for our peach tree.
Peaches sound delicious. Homemade peach pie even sounds more delicious. Love your tips Penney.
Thank you 🙂
I must admit I never heard the penny tip, but strangely enough, I haven’t seen any slugs around, and this is giant slug country!
Glad you haven’t had any slugs.
We don’t know if we have any slugs in our yard, but we sure don’t want those nasty grubs. They ruin the grass even more than we do. Mom says we will all be right over to help you eat those yummy peaches – those grow in your yard???? Outstanding.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Thank you 🙂 We have a semi-dwarf peach tree that did well this year.
The penny ball is a good idea! I have a tip. Store your peaches and also nectarines stem side down and it helps to stop them getting bruised.
Thank you 🙂 And mom thanks you for the tip. XO
This is a tip I’ll be keeping in mind, Penny! We tend to get slugs galore after it rains, especially in the autumn. I remember being freaked out when I once found my Halloween jack-o’-lantern covered in slugs after a rainy night. So, I’ll certainly be keeping this penny tip on hand, Penny!
Thank you 🙂 That must have been icky- yet perfect for Halloween.
Mmmm…my favorite fruits are peaches! Slugs are yucky…great tip!
Thank you 🙂
Peach cobbler!
What a great tip, Penny. We had no idea.
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for the tip, Penny. We’ll remember that if we see any slugs around here.
Thank you 🙂
Ugh, digging for slugs – or grubs – does not sound like a fun activity! Peaches are a much better idea.
Thanks for tips about the pennies and slugs though, we did not know that! I haven’t seen as many lately though, it could be the birds eat them!
That might be, you have plenty to eat them 🙂
We love peaches! And, thankfully, don’t have slugs either. I didn’t know about the pennies so thanks for the tip!
Thank you. XO
That’s a good tip! Where I grew up, there were a lot of slugs! No slugs where I am now, though.
Glad you have no slugs.
