We had to help our sweet Tallulah to the Rainbow Bridge today. Before Christmas, she was peeing out of the box. Tests showed an infection and the start of kidney disease. She had 2 weeks of antibiotics and then an antibiotic shot. She was down to 4 pounds despite her thyroid being in normal range ( on meds). She had gained a little weight when checked at 2 other visits. The xray showed nothing and the ultrasound yesterday showed nothing. I knew when I was told she lost a pound in 9 days that it was time and the vet agreed. I asked for one more day. My husband and I both gave her all our attention yesterday. She watched cat videos on my laptop, chased the laser, ate treats and whipped cream. We had a day that I will never forget.
Tallulah showed up in 2006, I thought Jinx had escaped because they looked similar. She was always sweet to us. She was especially close to Noel and Polar Bear. I brought her to say goodbye to them and they each gave her a head bump, they knew.
I won’t be posting for a few days. My Friendly Fill-In co-host will still be running the hop tomorrow so you can check Four-Legged Furballs for the fill-ins.
We are so very sorry. Sending you lots of warm, gentle hugs, purrs and prayers. PoohGirl, Chancy and Mags
Thank you. XO

Oh how tragic! I’m so very sorry. Please take all the time you need and don’t worry about posting. You gave her many good happy years and I’m glad you were able to spend a final day with her. RIP sweet girl.
Thank you. XO
Oh Ellen I am truly very sorry. You are fortunate to have so many cats when you need backup. When my 17-year-old diabetic, hyperthyroid, chronic renal failure Coolidge passed I realized I had never slept in our house wirhout a cat. My vet assured me that getting another cat right away could be very healing. Right after dinner we acquired our wonderful Effie. She had an owner for a year who was moving and could not have a cat. God’s love and healing shone through, for Effie and for me. Four years later, Paladin showed up and asserted jurisdiction with regular meals on our patio. I adored him on sight, but he was feral and would not enter a house. We took him to the Humane Society Animal Shelter Clinic and had him neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and made much of by the staff. He was four years old according to the operating veterinarian. He was the same age as Effie. He came into our house when we brought him home. He explored, he engaged with us, and he played with toys. He had fully transitioned from feral to domestic life. He loves us, Effie, our home, and Effieland, our secured garden my husband built for Effie. Now it’s a garden for two. In our case, getting a new cat right away brought about new life. No wonder the Humane Society vet used the day when Paladin was neutered and transitioned to domestic life as our Paladin’s official birthday.
Thank you. I am glad you kept your heart open to love more kitties. I always will too> XO
I’m so sorry about Tallulah. Lots and lots of purrs to you. <3
