Wordless Wednesday

Emmy and I thank you all for the purrs and prayers. The full report with the proper terms was not ready yet, but for now Emmy is good. She needs a recheck in 6 months to be sure he heart isn’t enlarged. I was told it was not a normal cat heart and not something they normally see. There was something wrong with blood flow, but I had pulled over in my car and didn’t have a pen and paper with me to write things down. I will explain it more when I find out.  We are also waiting on blood work for her thyroid, it was close to being hyperactive when I first got her. She sure is happy to be back home.

  1. There are four kinds of cardiomyopathy. One does involve the thyroid. But, some are more common than others. It is sad, and you know it happens with age. But, that is no comfort. You want them to be healthy and happy. I know. Emmy is blessed to have you. And, you are blessed, too. Hugs.

    1. I am eager to read the ultrasound report, I hope they send it soon. I am blessed to have found her and I know it was meant to be. XO

  2. Welcome home, Emmy! My late Coolidge had hyperthyroid during his final two years, and we had a compounding pharmacy make up the medication. It was simple to administer because I could just massage it into his ear. He was diabetic for his last nine years and I treated him myself for that, too. He lived to be 17 with all that! I think you will do fine, Emmy, getting diagnosed early on as you did. I will be praying for you, and I will show Effie your picture so that she can be your friend from far away. xoxo

    1. Thank you. I have 4 cats on thyroid meds, I am lucky they let me give them pills twice a day. I had the ear meds for Phoebe though, she was hard to medicate 🙂 XO

  3. Sending Emmy and you hugs, purrs and prayers……at least her heart isn’t enlarged but “not normal” could mean so many things. I hope the final word isn’t something that can’t be managed. Here’s hoping the thyroid isn’t worse too!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

  4. So glad she’s doing better and hoping the vet comes back with good news. Sending more purrs and prayers your direction!

  5. Ellen,

Tell Emmy I like to crash on the sofa after visiting the doctor, too. It’s no fun being poked, weighed and touched, then handed a bill. Nope, I’d rather do without all of that and spend my money on something fun. 🙂 Saying prayers everything turns out okay for Miss Emmy! 😉

  6. We love you in California Emmy! Praying and purring for you. You’re so lucky to have such a wonderful life with Mom Ellen.
