Wordless Wednesday

Sorry, we are not wordless this Wednesday either. For the letter L ( of The A-Z Challenge),I chose listen. Truly listening to someone makes that person happy and it should make you happy too.Β  To quote Epictetus, a philosopher, ” We have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak. ”

  1. Sometimes it IS hard, but when we listen well, we dare not interrupt until the speaker has finished…only then is it our turn…if needed. Sometimes the speaker only wants/needs someone to listen!

Um…I need to follow that advice better, LOL!

  2. Love that quote AND, listening is truly important – if someone is taking their time to say something we should give them OUR time by listening………

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom too

  3. I like that! I need to remember that; and mom as well! WE take twice as much as we listen!

  4. I see you’re listening. Intently. I agree we have two ears and one mouth for a reason.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. β™₯

  5. We love that quote. It would be nice if more people decided to use their ears to REALLY hear others. Too many are more interested in being heard than in just listening.

  6. Your post reminds me of a poem that my sister taught me as a child:
A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw, the less he spoke
The less he spoke, the more he heard
Why can’t we all be like that wise old bird?

  7. Hello, gorgeous Rosie! I’ve never heard this quote before, but now I’m going to write it down so that I can remember it. Purrs!
