Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

I am thankful that I got to come home from our road trip. Mom and Dad took me on a road trip, but it easn’t fun. I was afraid they were going to abandon me. My cardiologist is almost an hour away.  Mom packed my gray mouse for the ride ( I wanted to take the brown one).  I don’t have to go back for 6 months now. I need to take 1/4 of a pill daily, but mom said I can have it in cheese so that isn’t bad. Tallulah is having a dental today, she has a lot of resorption.

I thought I would try a poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day, we had to write one based on this photo:

A crowd on the beach,
is someone giving a speech?
Maybe they caught a big fish,
that would make a tasty dish.
Maybe it is a seagull or other bird,
those are tasty too, I’ve heard.
Nope, just a dude on a surf board
nothing worth heading toward.

And here are the Friendly Fill-ins for Friday. Mom came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

  1. Getting meds in cheese is pretty awesome, actually! My human says that maybe she’ll try that next time… on herself! She loves cheese.

  2. Oh Emmy, your Mom and Dad won’t EVER abandon you! I have to do a 6 month check up at the cardiologist ( man, that is a toughie to spell at one in the morning) and CH never abandons me… 🙂 I am glad you have meds that help… me too. Hope Tallulah’s dental went well. I think the poem is pretty dang good!!!!

    1. Thank you. I know they won’t, but I get nervous. I am glad CH never abandons you. Do you bring a mousie with you to the cardiologist too? We hope your medicine keeps helping you. XO

  3. Wow – that was a GREAT poem! Well done! I love it………it’s a freaky photo isn’t it? I thought it would bring some cool poems. As for you dear Emmy, I’m glad that your heart gets help with medication. I’m also hoping that Tallulah’s dental isn’t too awful – absorption is very painful from what I hear. Hugs to the two of you BRAVE ladies!

    Love, Teddy

  4. Oh Emmy, glad you got some nice pills to keep your heart going even though you had to make that long trip. That is one terrific poem too. You all have a great Thursday.

  5. I’m sure thankful all went okay on your road trip pretty Emmy and we’re all sending purrs for Tallulah. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  6. Road trips sure can be very un-fun, Emmy, can’t they? The kitties here agree. We’re glad you don’t have to go back for a while, though, and that you get your pill in cheese. Yum! And your poem is pawsome! Purrs and prayers to you!

  8. I’m glad your trip to the cardiologist is over. You can rest now.

Your poems always make me smile. It’s the kitty humor I think.

I’m all ready for Friendly Fill-ins tomorrow.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your mom. ♥

  9. Sounds like vet time is over… at least for you, Tallulah is another story.

The poem was very good. I saw the same as you did.

Thanks for the fill-ins for tomorrow.

  10. Ellen,

So glad to hear Emmy is doing well. The poem was cute. I like that the dude on the surfboard was not a big attraction. I appreciate you stopping by to vote in my BoTB. Have a good rest of the week. My A2Z Theme Reveal is set for this weekend and then I’ll be back on the dance floor Monday with “your favorite song picks”. Come boogie with me! 😉

    1. Thank you 🙂 Also thank you for the reminder of the theme reveal , although I already revealed my theme 🙂 I will be there Monday.XO

  11. I really don’t like road trip !
You are silly. Your Mum and Dad will never abandon you.
Med in cheese. That’s sound good.

  12. That dude on the surfboard scares me, i’d be afraid he wouldn’t live through it.

Hooray for good meds and being able to stay away from the doctor for so long! Praying all went well for Tallulah.

  13. I’m glad you made it home okay, an hour back and forth is a long way to travel, but now you get cheese treats! How did it go with Tallulah at the dentist, that sounds kind of traumatic too, I hate the dentist and Dexter has never been.

  14. That’s a long trip! I was always so thankful that Tara’s cardiologist was local. We don’t have a whole lot in our neck of the woods, but we do have amazing vets! That’s wonderful that you were able to bring a toy too 🙂

    1. It is a long ride, but at least she travels well. I don’t think Millie would be able to deal with it.

  15. We’re glad everything went well at your cardiologist, Emmy. Y’know, all of our specialty vets are about an hour drive for us. We don’t like it very much either.

  16. We are so glad you got to come home. Sorry awnty Ellen packed the wrong mousy. We’re sendin’ lots of hugs and purrayers fur everypawdy and specials fur Tallulah. You be lookin’ gawjus by the way.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  17. Good to hear you are doing well and can stay away from the Vet for 6 months 🙂
We are purring that Tallulah’s dental goes well. While not fun, she will feel so much better.
We really liked the poem and agree that it is not worth going to the water. Heehee
    Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ

  18. Cheese makes everything go down better! I’m glad that you don’t have to go back for a few months. We think surfing would be very difficult too.
