Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone!  We have a guest staying with us.

Mrs. Potato Head is going to be here for a while. Until The Great One no longer finds her scary. Mom got this for her for Valentine’s Day, but it scared The Great One. I don’t think she is scary, but her hair does bear a striking resemblance to the president’s hair.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop and Sammy’s Poetry Day. Emmy is thankful that she got to go to Paris with Madi as part of Critter Couture and get this beautiful gown.

Prancie is busy hogging the teepee so I decided to write a poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day.

We had to write a poem to go with this photo. I like to keep it simple so here is my haiku.

Dark, scary,unknown
maybe there is life out there
we may never know

And here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for Friday. Mom came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffty’s Reader came up with the second two.

  1. Oh dear – I’m sure that Trump hair may have been the thing that The Great One objects to – perhaps a nice crocheted hat would help? Love your haiku – it’s perfect for the photo……!

    Hugs, Teddy

  2. We don’t blame the Great one for being a little scared of Mrs. Potato head. That hair do is just way too scary. But we do think Mrs. Potato head is kind of cute. Have a fabulous day.

  3. It’s nice of you to host Mrs. Potato Head for a while. I’m sure she does not mean to be scary to The Great One. I like your haiku too. 🙂

  4. Poor Great One, we never know what will scare a young child. Maybe once she sees the parts can be changed, it won’t be so bad.

An excellent poem for that photo!

  5. Ellen,

Mrs. Potato Head does resemble Donald Trump a tad. Does she have a ‘Make America Great Again’ ball cap? If there is life out there, then I think it’s definitely “intelligent” because it wants to stay far away from us and that’s why we can’t find said life form. 🙂

  6. Oh, I always loved playing with Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head when I was a kid! Though, perhaps Mrs. Potato Head could pay a visit to a hairdresser. Emmy, you look gorgeous! And yet another fantastic haiku! I had a college professor who sometimes would make us write a haiku summarizing what we learned during his lecture, and though I was terrible at it, I did always find it fun to try. You sure do have a knack for writing haikus! Purrs, and happy Thursday!

  7. I’m all ready for tomorrows Friendly Fill-ins. I can do them if we’re not on the boat. Boating makes blogging far more difficult.

    I always enjoy your poems.

  9. Joanie, you are so funny. The lady doesn’t recall there being a Mrs. Potato Head when she was a kid. Maybe it’s all that lipstick and toothy grin that is scary. 🙂

  10. Mr and Mrs Potato Head are scary! I remember my youngest being absolutely terrified! I am glad that Prnacie is taking good care of her. We love Emmy in her gown and the Haiku! Perfect!
