Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop and Sammy’s Poetry Day.

I am thankful that I can still jump up to the tall bureau this kitty cave is on. Joanie thinks it is hers, but she needs to share.

Poor Joanie, she watched Gremlins and now she is very afraid of Gremmie getting wet. She covered him in plastic to protect him ( don’t worry, she gave him air holes to breathe and eat).

Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day to go with this photo:

Stairs leading somewhere
go up if you dare.
Nothing is that scary
not like the movie, Carrie.
Maybe there is a treasure
something you can’t measure.
Now climb those stairs,
I promise there are no bears.

Grammie has been complaining that kaTwo never gets blog time so here she is , helping with the blog.

And here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and Annie at McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two. Right now, they both have worpress blogs so they can’t display the link on their blog, you will be redirected to a separate page. We are working to find a new link service that is compatible with wordpress, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

  1. THose stairs scare me for more than one reason. Dex has wobbled a bit jumping on his favorite perch which happens when he’s talking while jumping. You are very lucky to have such a cool and comfy cave.

  2. Those stairs reminded me of how often I have fallen down stairs in my lifetime…and some of those ‘events’ I can still remember…
I wonder what is on the other side of that door up there…no wait its a window…see the grid?? That is to keep one inside…
    Now I will have nightmares…

Gremmie would not get wet here, it is not raining here…

    1. Sorry you have fallen down the stairs often. I read the link Pam had listed and it sounds like a display room, nothing scary. Gremmie is uncovered now 🙂 XO

  3. Glad Gremmie can BREATHE but now he has a nice “raincoat” to protect his furs! We love your poem today – it goes purrrfectly with the photo Angel Sammy gave everyone to write a poem about! That stairway is pretty spooky for sure……EEEK! Happy Thursday!

    Love, Teddy

  4. I like the poem… like the idea there might be a treasure and that there are no scary bears! Joanie, you and Gremmie are too funny. Very wise to have covered Gremmie up, especially after the movie. Nice to see KaTwo! The Fill-ins are going to take some thinking.

    1. Thank you 🙂 Gremmie is uncovered now. KaTwo says hi. We look forward to your fill-ins tomorrow.

  5. We really like that poem. Well done. Gremmie, glad you have a nice plastic cover to keep you nice and dry. You all have the very best day.

  6. That was a great poem! Stairs can be scary too since Sister Precious lives at the top of the stairs, just ask Brother Simon. Great thankfuls! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  7. Hmm…. bears on stairs… we sure hope not! Joannie, we don’t think you need to worry too much about that water coming out of nowhere, but we totally understand your concern.

  8. Poor Gremlin! ~snicker~ I really like those stairs. They remind me of local Loveland Castle hand built by a WWII veteran after returning from Europe. And that first fill-in makes me think of “The X Files”. ~grin~ Be well!

  9. Great poem, poor gremlin and lovely pyramid atop the bureau!

BTW the puzzle timer was so obviously on the fritz while mew were doing the puzzle, so we think mew did it in 17 mins and 55 secs – how’s that? MOL

    Big hugs

  10. Call our Mom odd (yes….we really mean that!) but she thinks the stairs are hauntingly beautiful. What’s up with THAT? We like your poem and we’re really glad Gremmie can breathe!

  11. That poem is very good. The only thing i would be afraid of on those stairs is tripping going up or down.

  12. Poor Gremmie…that cannot be too comfy. Astrid likes that the shark bed is on the dining room table, as she does not trust being on the floor should Mist May come around, plus she has a better view of what is happening around the house. The kitty cave atop the bureau looks like a purrfectly snuggly place for a snooze. 13. You look so cozy in there, Prancie! Gremmie, though, he doesn’t look too cozy. But, you gotta do what you gotta do, right, Joanie? And we think your poem goes so well with that mysterious staircase. Oh, and hello, KaTwo!

  14. Here are my answers for friendly fill-ins.
    1.) Trust God.
    2.) I would protest Atheism.
3.) I have had Daisy Mae since 2007.
4.) Right now, I am thinking about what to do for my Sparks Post that spreads encouragement.

  15. Very nice poem. Those stairs may look scary but they also make us curious to know what is at the top. Mom says they remind her of a staircase to the attic in HER Grandma’s very old house.
