Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Lots of thankfuls this week. I am thankful my hubby didn’t get seriously injured last week when the board hit him on the head. I am also thankful today is the anniversary of our first date, 37 years ago.
I am thankful my mom and I got to attend The Great One’s Chorus concert last Thursday. It was such a sweet show with 5 songs they sang and 5 the band played. The 2 teachers are clearly dedicated and care about the students. I learned something too. They did a song titled, White Sand and Gray Sand. The teacher explained in the 1700’s people used to buy sand to absorb ink. The white one was new, and the gray was used sand. Did any of you ever hear of that?
And I am thankful I saved Kristof from the giveaway pile yesterday. My niece had a bunch of stuff the kids don’t use that she is getting rid of so I took Kristof. The Great One told me to take any of the dolls I wanted. I just feel connected to it because I always had to “talk” him when we played dolls.
I skipped the poem.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

Love hearing about your anniversary, Ellen! And also the concert! I hadn’t heard about the sand and the ink. XO
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Happy Dateaversary! I don’t remember the actual date of our first date (haha) but I remember where we went and how we enjoyed ourselves. No worries about passing on the poem – you have to be in the right mood to write one and you are so busy these days I’m surprised you can post at all!!!
Hugs, Pam
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Aww, how sweet! 37 years – Wow! And the concert – so many things to be grateful for.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
The show sounds wonderful. And to learn something new about the ink, too.
I like Kristof. Is he from a particular movie or book? Looks a bit Peter Pan to me.
I am a doll lover.
Thank you. 🙂 Kristof is from Frozen. XO
You and I share that kind of sentimentality! I love that your niece said go through and take the ones you want. You chose a fun one since you talked for him!! Big smile here! Love the next fill-ins too!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
I never heard of the sand/ink thing. Happy anniversary of the first date! We have our anniversaries in July … there are 4 days so we just celebrate the whole month ha ha
(We’ve only been married for 6 years and known each other for 8 so not as much time has passed to forget LOL)
Thank you. 🙂 Good idea to celebrate all month. xO
The concert must have been fun to see. We’ve never heard of that song so we aren’t familiar with the story behind it.
Yes, it was. XO
Decades ago, my mother called me and apologized for being late to wish me a Happy Anniversary. I’m like, ‘huh?’
Then the penny dropped, and both The Hubby and I had forgotten our wedding anniversary, until Mom reminded us.
Hahahaha!
Our first date is SO EASY to remember, since it was Halloween.
That is funny. Cool your 1st date was Halloween. XO
Chaplin: “Happy First Dateaversary! I am not sure what our Mama and Dada’s first dateaversary is because the first time they met it was on a walk with a mutual friend and they didn’t say one word to each other. Which is not surprising if you know them.”
Charlee: “Our Dada says that Kristof doll looks like an NPC he might talk to in Baldur’s Gate 3! Whatever that means!”
Thank you. 🙂 That is funny I had to look that one up. Kristof is from Frozen.
Happy Anniversary! The concert sounds wonderful.
Thank you. 🙂 I should have recorded it.

Happy Dateoversary from all of us! Those were all really nice thankfuls! Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
I knew they had ink blotters, since they dipped pens or quills into an inkwell, but the sand is a new one on me.
I’m glad you saved Kristoff, such a happy, smiling guy.
Thank you. 🙂
Happy Dateaversary! So happy your Mom and you got to go to TGO’s Chorus Concert. As I have said before you all are making memories that will withstand the test of time. I am so happy you got Kristof! I would love to hear you do another “talk” for a character. Does Gremmie have a voice? I think the Fill-Ins look challenging.
Thank you. 🙂 I hope they will have fond memories. I think all my voices end up sounding like ELmo. 🙂 XO
Happy Dateaversary! I didn’t know that about the ink, that’s interesting.
Thank you. 🙂
What WONDERFUL bunch of THANKFULS! They are purrfect! I Marvelous am so furry thankful that Mom’s “BIG EVENT” is over and that she has some time. Time to brush me, time to cuddle the Kozmo, time to cut Jo Jo’s nails, time to walk the Nutmeg! I am thankful for the treats Mr D gifted me when I gifted him with mole that was terrorising his garden, and now I allowed to come and go whenever I want so long as I take care of all of his rodents! And I am thankful that the Catnip plants are 4-5″ tall! I am thankful that I get to help Mom write comments and visit my online furrends! I am thankful that you are having such a cool celebration and that the Cat Daddy’s Head is doing better! AND Ellen, I am thankful YOU got to keep Kristof! Keep being AWESOME! Your #1 Fan Boy! Marvelous Marv
