Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that we found my hubby’s train set when we cleaned out the barn. The cats are taking turns at being the conductor.

I am thankful that yesterday was a half day so my mom and I got to spend a few hours with Typhoid Mary and The Great One. We played charades, made beaded snowflakes and watched Home Alone 2.

We are also joining Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day.  And here is the photo prompt provided:

The guy on the bike thinks he is so brave,
acting like he’s risking an early grave.
It is the ones on the ground facing the biggest risk,
Let’s hope this driver can be brisk.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. Some of my favorite Christmas songs are ______________ and ____________________.
2. I like to watch ____________________ every year at Christmastime.
3. I would call this the most _________ time of the year.

4. If I were on Santa’s naughty list, it would probably be because _________.

  1. Wow, the train set was a good find! Love the pictures of the kitties with it! Sounds like lots of fun with The Great One and Typhoid Mary, too. XO

    1. Thank you. I will show a photo of them soon- they are decorations. The Great One sorted the beads, it took months of working on them every time she was here. XO

  2. Love that little train. Mama wishes she still had hers but she gave it to her nephew when he was young…don’t know where it is now. LOVE the title of the book your mama is reading. After she finished it will she still be hungry, haha? Enticing title….

  3. So wonderful you found that train in the barn! My Dad was excited for your Dad to have found such a treasure. The poem is PERFECT too – imagine how nervous the guy on the bike was – – – and the guys on the ground were probably praying……LOL

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. What a great Christmas treat for your husband to find his train after all these years. The kitties look very comfy in the middle of the track. Sounds like you girls had a great day together.

  5. Finding the train set was a great find! My dad bought me a train set because I didn’t have a brother then. I can remember the set but not playing with my dad with it because he died when I was five. I don’t know what happened to the train set. My brother probably took it along with my stamp collections etc!

    1. Thank you. Trains are fun. My kitties keep swiping the mini presents I put in the caboose. 🙂 XO

  6. Trains are always a warm memory of Christmas for me ~ Sweet photos of you dear kitties ~ Xo

  7. Such a nice thankful and everyone is doing a fantastic job being Conductors! Good poem too!

  8. Can you talk our Mom and Dad into putting out our little train for Christmas again? You see, someone who shall remain Tessa, chewed up some of the tracks a few years ago, and well, that train’s been residing in a box ever since. How not fair is that? What we do think is fair is to send you a big THANK YOU for visiting us often, and especially last week when we lost our Olivia. We’re healing and we’d like to think it’s because of you and your kind words. Thank you.

  9. You are right. Our poems are very much alike. The kitties with the train are so cute. I think all of the Kitties Blue would be too afraid to get near it. Sounds like you had a terrific day with ornament making and a movie. 10. Love your poem, we love a writing challange and hope to do one next week, its always so exciting to find something you’ve not seen for ages xxxx
