Thankful Thursday

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful to everyone for all your kind words, badges and poem for the loss of my sweet Emmy. I am so blessed to have you all in my life.

I am also thankful for every minute I had with her. She was such a sweet and beautiful girl.

I am also thankful for the sign she sent me less than an hour after she left us.

Before we left for the vet, I dumped out her toy bin to choose some toys to send with her. It was hard because so many were the ones she brought to me over the years and I wanted to keep those.

When I got home, I put the rest back in the bin and found this angel charm on the bed. It was hiding under the toys. I have never seen it before.

I am sure there is some logical explanation, but I want to believe Emmy wanted me to know she is an angel now watching over us.

No poem again this week.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I always forget to _________________________.

2. I never forget to ____________________.
3. Nothing makes me _________ more than _________.
4. It might sound outrageous, but I _________.

  1. Oh, what a lovely angel to always remind you of your angel Emmy. We think of you every day, dear Ellen, and of Emmy the lovely kitty so beloved by you and your family.

  2. Every cat here who has gone over The Bridge has been returned to the earth with something they loved while they were here. Skeeter and LC loved treats, so I poured a pouch over each. Iza loved rattly mice, so she got a few to go with her. I know it is all symbolic, but it mattered to me.

Finding the angel charm was special to you.

  3. It’s such an incredibly hard thing to do – saying goodbye but I agree with you – Emmy left you a sign that she is in a much better place now where there is no illness or pain and she is free. You gave her everything including your heart AND a good life – she will now watch over you forever.

    Hugs, Pam

  4. I love that she was able to take some of her toys with her. It made tears here for me. I wish I had done that for Admiral. The angel you found…I hope you find a way to suspend it from something on your bed’s headboard. That will make you smile through the sadness when you see it. XX

  5. BIG hugs as you remember sweet Emmy.
She is at peace and happy now.
She had a great life with you and the angel is her way of saying “Thank you”.

  6. More healing hugs. You were both lucky to have found each other. She needed you and you needed her. She is an angel watching over you.
