Thankful Thursday

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  I am thankful for free magazines from the library. And wonderful librarians that save them for me. Every January they get rid of the previous year’s magazines. They put them out on a table in the reading room, but if I ask ahead of time, they save me what I want so I scored HGTV and House Beautiful.

We are joining the poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt provided.  I tried to guess what they were looking at and I am guessing it is the younger generation.

Oy, look at that one with his pants to his knees

He must be getting quite a breeze.

And that group of friends all staring at their screens
they clearly don’t know what friendship means.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. When I run out of __________________, I use ________________as a substitute.
2. I don’t understand why________________.
3. _________ is the best time to _________.

4. It seems like I’m the only one who _______________________.

  1. Fun poem and getting those magazines really is a good thing! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 And I am thankful you are on the earth too and that I know you through blogging. XO

  2. Your poem is the truth! Nice of the librarians to keep back your favourite magazines.

  3. I really love your poem this week! THAT is inspired and had I thought to do it..I would have said something similar.

  4. Way to go on the magazines. Free is good.

Love the poem. I’d be having the same look.

I can’t come up with the fill-ins today. I just stare and have nothing come to mind. Brain fog or freeze.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

    1. Thank you. 🙂 No worries on the fill-ins. I draw a blank on the poems often. XO

  5. That’s so nice of your library to save you magazines that you like. I used to love getting them through mail but anymore when I pick up one of my favorites they have more ads then content which is bothersome and not worth the money to resubscribe. Nice little ditty. 🙂

  6. Oh, mom would be in heaven if our library did that for her! As it is, when they go together, dad spends eons picking out books for both of them and mom, usually ready to leave before dad even thinks about being finished, lounges with a pile of magazines. Dad even found her snoozing last time they went together.

  7. Librarians are so very helpful!
Hopefully, this summer, we’ll have our refurbished local library open again, and folks will be stunned at how amazing it is.
