Thankful Thursday

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Joanie is thankful she has a play date with Typhoid Mary today. Joanie was so happy that she had 3 children to play with at our open house. She just sat on the bed and enjoyed all the loudness and running around. I am thankful to have my complete nativity outside this year. It took me 25 years to get all the pieces. I was buying a new one every year in the early 1990’s then they stopped making them before I got my Three Kings and camel. Last year, I was able to buy them at a tag sale, but we didn’t do a lot of decorating because we weren’t entertaining due to Covid.

We are joining the poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt provided:

Santa, is this some kind of joke?

I’m going to give that big belly a poke.
I asked you for a bike in my letter
good thing my Grammie can do better.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  1. Wow, 25 years…but glad you now have a complete set. A vintage one at that!

That is a cute poem! We giggled!

Joanie sure s a social kitty…we angel kitties Pipo & Minko would be hiding somewhere with a crowd like that! Our Toki and Simba might ave joined Joanie in that pawrty, though!

  2. We all have our favorite decorations for the season. I have some neighbors who explode their yards with all sorts of stuff. I like my small string of quiet blue lights along the house overhang. To each their own…

  3. How wonderful that you got your Nativity complete and that was a fun poem, poor girl. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  4. Finding lost items, and completing sets is easier now with the interweb; everyone posts everything!
I am super glad that there are used books available online, especially the one’s from the UK.

  5. Wow, that sure is a long time to collect something! I’ll bet you’re pleased to have the complete set now, huh? Silly photo, and wonderful poem!!

  6. Sounds like your open house was tons of fun.

Love your outdoor nativity scene. It’s beautiful. Took a long time to do, but you did it.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  7. We are so glad that Jaonie got to play with Typhoid Mary and the kids at the open house! And Ellen, concatulations on getting your Nativity Scene completed! How fortunate that you managed to find the missing pieces. AND the poem ROCKS! It made our Mom laugh!

  8. What a lovely Nativity scene! All the secular decor is cute, but I want something like this. Seeing the white painted silhouettes around town makes me want one. Joanie is one unique kitty. 🙂 Merry Christmas and hugs, my dear.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 The painted ones are nice, but hard to make. A few years ago, my hubby made a giant reindeer for his sister like that and it took a long time. Joanie is a sweet girl. Merry Christmas! XO
