Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. Before we get started, we want to give our condolences to Food Service Girl at Trout Talkin Tabbies on the loss of Tuna of Moon. TO visit, click here

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful to all Veterans and the sacrifices they make to keep us all safe.

I am also thankful there is no school today so The Great One and Joanie will have a play date.

We are joining the poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt provided:

Most prefer a sunny beach

with a cool beverage in reach.

This is what I would want to happen upon,
although I hope they put the woodstove on.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I have a __________ on my ___________________.
2. I wish I could speak fluent __________________.
3. I wonder what would happen if _________.
4. If I want _________, I’m going to have to _________.

  1. I had relatives who served in WWII, in the Netherlands and in Indonesia. Hubby had relatives who served in various military work, including his Dad. Some in WWI, ,some in WWII, and some in wars before those.
He was not conscripted to go to Vietnam…nor his brother, both were excused due to issues that did not make for good military, hubby has very bad eyesight…think bottle glass…

In Canada we wear poppies, obtained by donation, to commemorate Remembrance Day as we call it there.

They will have a service at my work for veterans past and present who we have served, and for all vets in general as well. Our sons when they were in Middle school, and Junior High, used to go to the Cemetery at Fort Custer National Cemetery, (Battle Creek, Michigan), to help place flags on all the graves there.

I was shocked to tears when I heard about Tuna. He will be missed by all. I have known the Tabbies since 2009…back in the Catster days.

    1. My Dad was in the Air Force. I am thankful to all who served. And I am sad about Tuna too. XO

  2. We thank the veterans of our countries and always remember.
You would definitely need a good fire blazing there!

  3. Yes, so thankful for everyone who served. I think about my great uncle on Remembrance Day. I never got to meet him, but I know him through photos and stories from my Mom. Great poem and I hope you enjoy the play date.

  4. Veterans rock. I salute and respect past, present and future veterans.

Love the poem. I want the beach though.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins. Thanks for co-hosting.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. xoxo ♥
