Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Sammy is thankful that he got to be assistant chef for his friend Teddy last Saturday. If you missed it, click here.

We are joining their poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt provided:

If you really want to know

in the ocean I want to dip my toe,

but if I get salt stains on my dress
it will be a big mess.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two. The linky stays open until Wednesday night.

  1. Being assistant chef is something to be thankful for because before you know it you’ll be an executive chef.

  2. Good work as assistant chef, Sammy! And I love your take on the picture expressed in your poem, Ellen! (Come to think of it, how did she walk across sand in high heels; it seems like the heels would sink with every step . . . ) XO

  3. That was a very good recipe from Sammy and Teddy.
Salt stains on that red dress would show up a lot!

  4. Sammy was a wonderful Assistant Chef last week…….AND we think your poem is purrrrfection – it was a weird photo wasn’t it!

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. So enjoyed Sammy at Teddy’s Bacon Saturday post. It was and is a delicious recipe! Dipping a toe in the ocean works for me! Red dress lady is as confuzzled as I am this morning! She is waiting for the slow boat to somewhere, nobody is going to miss her in that red dress!

  6. Way to go Sammy. That rocks. Those maple bacon cheddar biscuits look great.

Love the poem and you don’t want to make a mess with that pretty dress. What with the radio though?

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-Ins.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  9. At first glance I thought Sammy had an ice pack on his head. lol I like walking in the surf if it’s not too strong. We haven’t done that in years. Maybe, when we go to Maine I can dip my toes in the ocean. I imagine even in the summer the waters are a bit chilly that far north. 🙂

    1. It kind of does look like an ice pack. 🙂 Yes, Maine water is cold. XO

    1. I hope you can get to it soon. I am not a fan of the ocean, it scares me. And I don’t like the salt smell- I know, I am strange. 🙂 XO

  11. Charlee: “Ahh, the ocean.”
    Chaplin: “Dennis’s nemesis!”
Lulu: “I thought you guys told me the elevator was Dennis’s nemesis.”
    Charlee: “That too.”
    Lulu: “And the parakeet?”
