Friendly Fill-Ins Week 261

Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. I wish ________________ were as _____________ as ______________.
2. My plans this weekend include ________________ and _______________.
3. It’s hard to believe that _________.
4. I need _________ in order to _________.
My answers:
1.  I wish all my cats were as sweet to one another as Rosie is.  Rosie gets along with everyone and all the cats seem to like her, well except maybe Trouble.
2. My plans this weekend include Typhoid Mary’s birthday party and going to the cemeteries to bring flowers to graves of loved ones. Typhoid Mary will be 3 in June, but the party is a week early.
3. It’s hard to believe that 5 months of 2021 are already over.
4. I need to write an 8-10 page short story in order to apply to graduate school. There are 3 MFA programs in Creative Writing I am interested in applying to.  Just a thought right now as they are all expensive. I do want to improve my writing though.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Here is a flashback of the first photo I ever posted on here- May 25, 2014.  Angel Lucy dressed for Fleet week in NYC.

  1. Great fill ins! We had similar answer to #3. Time is really flying this year. Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. The nickname Typhoid Mary makes me laugh every time! Rosie always looks such a sweetheart.
That is a sweet flashback of Angel Lucy.

  3. Good filling in! Mom and I think Rosie is a sweetheart – no wonder everyone but Trouble loves her. We think your writing is wonderful BUT we also think it’s great to do things to improve yourself even if you don’t need it (hahaha) – Graduate school would be FUN for you (Mom says). Happy Memorial Day Weekend…….

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. Thank you. You are too kind. My writing has a long way to go to be as wonderful as yours. XO

  4. I also wish that all my cats will be nice to each other! Okay, it’s only the two females that bitch at each other. I guess it happens in all of creation!

8 – 10 pages is quite intensive for a short story. I’m sure you’ll be able to pull it off!

Enjoy the birthday party and have a good weekend!

    1. I thought that seemed long for a short story. I like to keep things short. Have a nice weekend.

  5. You are so right about time flying by! I am sure Typhoid Mary will have a wonderful birthday. I hope you pursue grad school. Angel Lucy♥
    My Fill-Ins~
    1. I wish I were/was as interested in picture taking as I was 20 years ago.
    2. My plans this weekend include food on the grill and a walk on the beach.
    3. It’s hard to believe that I finally got to meet up with my gal pal that I haven’t seen for 47 years. It was wonderful.
    4. I need SSNS delicious shrimp dip in order to eat shrimp.
    Thank you!

    1. Thank you. And thank you for these great answers. Interests come and go, maybe you will get the urge again. That is so nice that you got together with someone you hadn’t seen in so long. XO

  6. I LOVE those pictures and that Fleet Week picture with Angel Lucy is perfection! Oooh, can’t wait to read more from you about your venture. Did you or do you have to take the GRE?

    1. Thank you. The 3 programs I am interested do not require the GRE. 🙂 XO

  7. Ellen,

I admire you for wanting to go graduate school. Sometimes, I think it would be nice to go back but then my lazy side kicks in. Thanks for hosting the Friday fun. Have a lovely holiday weekend!

  8. Oh Ellen good luck on your creativity writing I know you will bowl them over with your story.

Typhoid Mary is too funny, wish her a very happy 3rd
    Hugs Cecilia

  11. Good answers Ellen! You already write well, but graduate school would be an interesting experience. XO

    1. Thank you. I want to write as well as you do. Your book is amazing. XO

  12. Really wonderful fill ins and we are sure you will do really great with any program you get into. Do you have State Universities where you are that have what you want to study? Purrs

    1. Thank you. I am trying to find a completely online course. Many MFA make you do a residency. XO

  13. LOL I do love the hats haha!

I liked your replies I agree with #3 it’s gone sooooo quick

    Have a tanfasticaltastic weekend 👍

  14. You write just fine. This cat sez school learnin’ ruins humans. Happy Birthday to TM. You’ll be celebrating Blogoversary 10 sooner rather than later.

  15. I love that sweet Fleet Angel Lucy and we loved your answers too, Ellen. Hope you can find a cheap writing course to fullfill your dream🙏Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend to all of you🐾😽💞

  16. Such fantastic fill-ins, as always! I kind of wish I had put the same answer you did for #1. My boy Evan gets along with all the cats in the house, and usually ultimately gets along with any cat he meets. He’s been that way since he was a kitten. I wish all my cats were that way, because then I wouldn’t have Eddy mostly staying in my bedroom because she can’t place nicely, especially with Tonks. And I love love love the idea of you getting an MFA in creative writing! That honestly sounds both fun and beneficial. I very often wish I had gotten a degree, or at least a minor, in creative writing. Whether or not you go that route, though, I will always enjoy your writing. Hello to Angel Lucy, and purrs to all of you!

    1. Joanie is in our bedroom for the same reason Eddy is in yours. XO

  17. Mee-yow wow ‘angel’ Lucy sure was a cutie Miss Ellen!
Guud Luck on gettin yore coursess dun….you can due it!!!
    ***purrss*** BellaDharma an {{huggiess}} LadyMew

  18. Adorable photo! #4 sounds very exciting for you!

  19. Awww, Angel Lucy was such a sweetie!

Sometimes I too get asked why I didn’t go back to school, too…but nope, I didn’t need any extra stress.

    1. I wish my garden area were as pretty as the ones seen in magazine, etc.
    2. My plans this weekend include relaxing, going to church on Sunday, taking some pics of the pups and going to work on Monday. (its my turn to work the holiday, but it would have been my regular Monday to work anyways. But then I will have off on July 4th!)
    3. It’s hard to believe that in July I will have at this work I do for ten years!
    4. I need to lose weight in order to fit into a lot of my summer dresses.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Don’t be fooled by magazine everything is photoshopped to perfection-people and gardens.
Sorry you have to work Monday, but glad you get the 4th of July off. Congrats on 10 years at your job! Everyone needs to lose weight since COVID. XO

  20. We had a cat like Rosie named Abbey. She got along with everyone, including Chris. The only exception was Princess but Princess only liked humans and pretty much was Abbey’s opposite.

  21. Exciting about graduate school! I’m sure you can do it and I wish you well. Sounds like Rosie has that perfect temperament and she’s able to get along with everyone. xo

  22. I LOVE your Fill-Ins this week! Especially #4! What a terrific goal! And cats that get along with all the others, they are hard to come by. Rosie is a jewel! Thanks for the Friendly Fill-ins, I LOVE doing them. The Picture of Angel Lucy ROCKS!

  23. Rosie sounds like our angel cat, Don Juan. He loved everyone cats, dogs, humans, he was just the most easygoing cat we’ve ever had. ♥
