Hi everyone!  We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop 

I am thankful to have finally guessed correctly on the Tuesday Teaser. I wasn’t first, but I was correct for the first time in 6 years.

I am also thankful I get to help home school The Great One for preschool. I have a degree in Education so I might as well use it 🙂 I am glad her birthday is November 1st so she missed the September 1st cut for Kindergarten. I would not want her first year of school to be tainted with COVID restrictions.

I am skipping the poetry again this week. My brain is still not functioning enough for poetry.

  1. Congrats on the teaser!! We’re glad that The Great One’s first year of school isn’t tainted with covid too. Pre-school at home is a great idea though 🙂

  6. 1. I wish I had been alive during the roaring twenties! I’m fascinated with that Age.
    2. My favorite was to have apples is cooked. I can use them in many dishes that way.
    3. I was sad to find out that my neighbor one u from me has let their yard turn into a kudzu mass. I have fight it back from mine.
    4. Reaching out to others and being kind isn’t rocket science.

    The Great One will be benefitted by your guidance and teaching, I am proud of you. XXX

  8. Congrats, Ellen! Better luck next time, eh? Oh how fun you’re helping with home schooling T.G.O. My birthday is in December so I can relate to the birthday cut off. The early grades are easy and fun. It was the high school years of homeschooling that challenged me at times but that’ll be a ways down the road yet for T.G.O. Enjoy being a teacher at home role! Tomorrow is DH’s off Friday so I’ll be MIA in Blogosphere. Have a good weekend!

  14. A big congrats on the Teaser. We were shocked when Dad blurted out he knew where it was in like 15 seconds. The rest of the day he was really slow but, oh well, he is older than dirt.
    We wish you and The Great One much success. It is so nice you will be able to help out and use your background at the same time. That sure is a Thankful

  15. Ellen, there is a terrific book, “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell, that suggests that children who are older when they start kindergarten are far more successful in the long run! It’s a good read.

  18. Congrats on the teaser, Ellen! I had no clue and I usually don’t! I think I came close to one that was on the Gulf Coast once but didn’t comment. If I’m recalling correctly, LOL. XO

  19. I agree about the great one and how lucky she is to have an auntie to help keep her on track.

    There are just so many different ways of schooling this year. I wish our State had selected one for all.
    Our county is Virtual learning all year. Not all 100 counties are doing this.

  25. Congrats on guessing correctly. Mom just looks at those photos and shakes her head. She is amazed at how many can recognize so many locations.

  28. Enjoy home school with the great one, Ellen and we’re thanksful that she’s home too!   29. I used to do the Tuesday Teaser all the time, and once was the first right guesser! But I rarely ever had a clue, so finally gave up on it! 🙂
