Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! Before we get started we want to give our condolences to Colehaus Cat on the loss of beautiful Miss Newton. If you haven’t already visited, click here.

Today is D day for the A-Z Blogging Challenge.  D is for discount care plans. I recommend asking your vet if they have one. Our vet is a VCA and they offer them. I admit I haven’t signed up for one because I can’t afford to do it for each cat. If you only have one or two kitties , it is a wise choice. You pay a set monthly fee that covers vet visits, exams, dentals, etc. All items are discounted, but if your cat passes away, you still have to keep paying monthly or you have to pay full price for any exams already used. This is the link for the VCA care club.

We are also joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. KaTwo is happy for clean sheets on her bed.

Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo prompt.

I can’t believe you called me a rat.
I was not implying you were getting fat.
I only suggested we skip dessert tonight
so we could get home and hold each other tight.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. The highlight of my week is ______________________.

2. Only _____ more days until __________________.

3. I believe I was born to _________.

4. Age is _________.

  1. Another loss? So sad. Our vet keeps trying to push a health plan but our two cats are in their late teens. ~shakes head~ And I’m not going to treat for things they don’t need as indoor eldsters. Heh… But it’s a good idea for young ones. Be well!

  2. We’re so sad about Miss Newton’s passing. She was a special kitty, and will be loved and missed always. That’s interesting info about those discount care plans. Thank you for sharing!

    1. You are lucky to get a discount. We do too because my hubby is considered a senior. XO

  3. Discounts are good but it doesn’t look like rats are good MOL! Great poem. We’re sad to hear about sweet Miss Newton. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

  4. Meowser Ms. Ellen! Katsu and I are sad to hear about Miss Newton and hope you and all our furry furiends are doing well.

  5. Too many babies going to the bridge of late. So very sad.

I didn’t know there was a plan to offset kitty care. That’s a great idea actually.

    Love the poem.

I had my fill-ins all done and before I could hit the schedule button my internet went out. I lost everything. I also lost the comment that I was doing to you. I’m not happy and I’m not doing it again. I’m having a hissyfit right now.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  6. Miss Newton running off to the Bridge was a sad surprise. KaTwo, you don’t know this, but having a bath then sliding into clean sheets is one of life’s great luxuries!

  7. Ka-Two, you look adorable. If I ever get another cat, I’ll get insurance but I don’t think it will be one of these care plans. I liked your poem! Funny.

  8. Excellent poem! Such misunderstandings happen often enough, i think.

Fresh sheets are always welcome, aren’t they.

No discount plans here, although i like the idea behind the one you talk about.

  9. That was a cute poem. Mom never liked or ate sweets when she was younger. Now, she always leaves room for dessert now. KaTwo looks quite content and happy. Like you, we cannot really do insurance or care plans with so many kitties. 10. Oh what a sweet face. Sorry for their loss.

And, yes, that wouldn’t work here with my size herd. I do wish there was a good set up for multiples that worked here.

  11. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with beautiful Miss Newton’s family.

I think it’s wonderful when vets offer discount care plans. I’m like you, though, and the more furbabies that find their way into the family, the more difficult it is to take advantage of the plans.

KaTwo, the kitties here love clean sheets, too. So cozy! And, as always, your clever poem is so much fun!
