Sunday Selfies

Before we get started, we want to offer our condolences to Brian and his family on the loss of his sister, Kit. She was a proud Crotchety Cougar and will be missed by all.

Joanie was cuddling on the bed with her Gremmie so look what I got back.

Mom has a question for everyone. She is going to participate in the A-Z Blogging Challenge again. Last year, she crocheted something new everyday to go with the letters and then had a giveaway at the end of the month with 2 winners that got all the cat toys and hats. She wants to do that again this year with all different items, but can’t think of ideas for the following letters , I will put in parentheses what she made last year: N(nip tea bag), Q ( Queen’s crown), U ( Uncle Sam’s hat) and W(whale). Any ideas are greatly appreciated and please remember that mom is not that great at crochet so she can’t make unicorns or anything like that.

We are joining The Cat on My Head’s Selfie Sunday Blog Hop and Rascal and Rocco’s Pet Parade.

  1. Your condolences to Brian is a touching way to start your post.

    As for q….a quill (feather)
N….napkin, necklace, nickel, notebook and nutshell
    U…..haha…undershirt or undertaker.
    Sorry that’s it for me.

  2. Crocheted goodies are such a wonderful gift – not everyone can crochet so things like that are special! N, Q, W and U are toughies for crocheted stuff – let’s see……N – neck scarf, Q – quilt (tiny squares of different colors?), W – wishbone, U – ugly toy (some made up little creature toy). Sorry – we just can’t think of anything but we do think you are WONDERFUL for doing this again this year!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

    1. Thank you for these great ideas. Very creative, I like the ugly toy a lot, that could be fun πŸ™‚ XO

  3. Joanie is so cute with Gremmie… hope she doesn’t know her bed was taken! I may have to think on the letters for the crochet. I think Summer’s idea for U is great. Little underpants! It will be so much fun to see what you do this year!

  4. We just left our condolences with Sister Kit’s family. So many friends have been traveling to the Rainbow Bridge, and that is so very sad. We know they all have their angel wings now, though.

Prancie, how wonderful that you got a turn in your tent again! I guess Joanie and Gremmie learned that if you snooze (or cuddle), you lose.

We are looking forward to the A to Z challenge again this year, and are so happy you’re participating again! As for those letters, let’s see what random ideas we can throw out there…

    N: nail, needle, noodle, necklace
    Q: quill, quilt, quarter
    U: umbrella, utensil(s)
    W: watermelon, wheel, waffle, window

The A to Z challenge is going to be fun! We here should probably get started on brainstorming for ours…Happy Sunday to you all!

  5. We like Joanie and her gremmie selfie πŸ™‚
We purr she does not want to be in the tent today πŸ˜‰

Those are some good ideas for the letters.
We’ll be back if we think of any other things πŸ™‚

  6. Hey, don’t you dare say that about your mother’s crafts. ~hugs~ Those toys you sent are amazing, so bouncy when Jezebel gets in a rare playful mood! You know, I’ve decided not to do the April challenge this year, preferring to devote more time to writing while following my favorite regular bloggers throughout. Be well!

    1. My mom thanks you πŸ™‚ She is glad Jezebel likes her toys. I am glad you did the challenge last year which is how I found you πŸ™‚

  7. Looks as if Lorianne and others gave your mom lots of ideas for the crochet. The only thing our mom could think of was necklace. Losing another Crotchety Cougar makes us all so very sad. We know Sister Kit was having good and bad days, but with her weight gain, we thought she was on a good upward track. Thanks for always joining our selfie hop. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  8. Oooh I like both of these selfies and great that Gremmie got a look in to.
Now as to knitting, have you thought of countries (names knitted onto something or emblem), flags (shape and colours on a cushion), fruit and veg, or more animals?
    Toodle pips and happy knitting
    ERin

    1. Thank you for these great ideas Erin, I don’t think I can do names,my skills are not great, but fruit or animals I can handle πŸ™‚ XO

  9. So sorry to hear about Sister Kit. Sasha is saddened about the loss of one of her fellow Cougars. Anything you crochet will be a hit, Ellen!

  10. We’re so sad about Kit going to the Bridge

Your selfies are great, you two (and Gremmie)! Maybe a nectarine for “n,” and a ukulele or (sea) urchin for “u.” πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you for these great ideas, I don’t think I could handle ukulele, but nectarine is easy πŸ™‚ XO

  11. We were so sad to see Kit has made her trip OTRB….she was a great Sister and role model

Ohhh for U how about a U turn nip top almost like a ‘nanner!!
    Hugs madi your bfff

  13. Love the selfies.

My condolences for the loss of Kit. It’s always to early to say good-bye to a friend.

  14. I was thinking of a nut for N (like a walnut). I love the idea of “ugly toy” for U, and someone else suggested a miniature quilt for Q. You could also do a duck for Q (quack)?

  15. We’re very sad about the passing of sister Kid, but happy that we had a chance to know her…not that it makes it easier :'(
Your Selfie with Gremmie is adorable, Joanie πŸ™‚ I came up with UFO, necklace and n…othing…Q is very hard, miss Ellen, but I’m sure you will find something with all the given examples πŸ˜€ Pawkisses for Good Luck πŸ™‚ <3

  16. Just so you know, a certain snowball crochet toy is still in the rotation ’round here, since some boyz like to chase it down and carry it back! So, I’m impressed with your crocheting skills!

  17. We have some ideas! For U what about Ugly– then you could make an ugly Christmas sweater or some such! For W you could do a web for a spider!
We like Q-tip for Q and newt or nap (you could make a nap cushion) for N! AMARULA likes nitwit as an n word cause she says then you can crochet Frodo!!

    1. I wish I could crochet Frodo, he is not a nit wit though. Thank you for these great ideas πŸ™‚ XO

  18. We think that anything you crochet will be wonderful. We love the toys you gave us. Purrs, Snoops and Kommando Kitty

  19. Since I am so late, have you decided what you will make for the letters that were giving you trouble? You might be able to make a quill for the Q. Or a (Mini)quilt!
If you look in a dictionary you might find some other things you could make for letters that you don’t know what to make.
