It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! Thank you to everyone who gave me some ideas for the A-Z challenge, they are greatly appreciated. I will try to find a pattern for kitty underwear-thank you Summer 🙂

We are joining McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks, Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays, Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? and Curious as a Cathy’s Mewsic Moves Me blog hops. We love to hop!

We just finished Lessons from Stanley the Cat by Jennifer Freed. Psychotherapist, Jennifer Freed writes about lessons she learned from her beloved cat, Stanley. This book was published in 2010 so you can get a cheap used copy on Amazon. My Spark is one of his lessons, “Do not let any bad comments or derision bother you. Consider negativity as passing gas.” Very wise advice.

This week’s mewsic theme is your favorite love songs so here are mine:

I have never seen a Twilight movie, but I love this song.

  1. Oh Miss Ellen, that “Consider negativity as passing gas” is definitely a good tip! The world of humans can be full of negativity, especially in this crazy one filled with “computers.” Hugs!

  2. For the moment I read my own blog since 2007 ! That’s sometimes rather funny. I also noticed that my English had improved !
Kim is not on the pictures, she was away and then she spends the days always in the same position ! I could copy and paste the same picture each week. Maybe she will put her tail on the right side instead of the left.

  3. Stanley was one very wise kitty! Love that quote……!!! Happy Monday – it’s good day to read another book I think…….cold and cozy.

    Love, Teddy and Mom too

  4. I always enjoy seeing your babies pose.

I love your Spark. Very wise advice indeed.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your mom. ♥

  6. You and Gremmie are such a cute pair of models, Joanie. Now, this is the Spark of all Sparks! And I also found myself drawn to this song by Christna Perri when I first heard it a couple years ago, though I have never read nor watched anything related to Twilight. Happy Monday!

    1. Sorry you had troubles, thank you for trying again 🙂 I hope you have a nice week too!

  7. Oh my gosh, I love the song from Christina Perri and the one from the Wedding Singer. I’ve seen that movie a few times and always enjoy it!

“Consider negativity as passing gas” That is so good. And so funny!

  8. Ellen,

Don’t worry if you haven’t seen any of the Twilight movies. I streamed them last year and by the time I finished the series I thought, “WOW, so over-rated!” The only movies that I really care anything about was the last one. I so enjoyed your beautiful choices for this week’s theme and love songs definitely are wonderful “Sparks” of encouragement for us all. Thanks for sharing & for joining the 4M gang on the dance floor, my friend! 😉

    1. Glad I didn’t miss much with Twilight- vampires scare me.
I am enjoying the Mewsic hop 🙂 XO

  9. The book sounds very interesting. I believe we can relate a lot as we learn so much from our kitties 🙂 Consider negativity as passing gas – this is so wise!

  11. Oh, that’s awesome advice! I’m busy reading “Weak as a Kitten” from my short story series. Besides polishing it needs a midway scene and a proper ending. ~grin~ Be well!

  12. guyz…stanley soundz like one veree wize dood….we will hafta chex out hiz book !! 🙂 ♥♥

  13. Stanley is a great name for a cat! I’m listening to “At The Water’s Edge” by Sara Grue, and I have no idea where the story is going to next…and I like that!

  14. That Spark is great! Next time someone says something negative around me or about me, i’m going to laugh to myself and think, someone just passed gas!

  15. Okay, don’t laugh, but I have never seen the Wedding Singer and I just watched the video and now I’m going to go watch that movie if I can find it on You Tube & I bet I can. hehehe~ Great pickin’s here my friend!!! Thanks for playin along with us!

  16. I did an A-Z challenge a few times. It can be very daunting to come up with something for every letter! I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy the challenge. I love the song, Thousand Years, and could hum it all day long!

  17. “Consider negativity as passing gas”… what a great thought, it made me laugh! And… I will remember it the next time someone is being negative because that surely is what their comments are like, a bunch of hot, smelly air! 🙂

I do not see your link on the Sparks Linky thing, so I missed it yesterday. Am I just missing it, or is it not there? <3

  18. Hi Ellen,
Hope you had a fabulous Valentine’s Day. Seems like forever ago already for some reason and hard to believe the week has already come to an end.

Great post here. Thanks for sharing the book “Lessons from Stanley the Cat” — sounds like a great book and I’d definitely like to give it a read. Love the negativity quote: “Consider negativity as passing gas.” Words to live by for sure! Is that your cat in the photo? Cute!

Thanks also for the introduction to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. I wasn’t familiar with her and really enjoyed the song.
I never saw “The Wedding Singer” movie either. I’ll have to see if I can catch it on Netflix.

    enjoy your weekend,

    Michele at Angels Bark
