Samurai A Feral Kitten’s Journey to Find a Home

Happy Friday everyone! I have a book to review today that I won on Goodreads. I enjoyed it so much that I want to spread the word. This would be an excellent Christmas gift for kids aged 4-8, but any age will enjoy it.

Samurai A Feral Kitten’s Journey to Find a Home by Rosemary Wood is a true story. The author and her husband found a feral kitten and started feeding it. Their pet cat gets very jealous and tries to scare it away. This book explains the plight of feral cats. Here is one line:

” They have no one to feed them and must sleep outdoors at night.”

It is also beautifully illustrated with oil paintings so adults will enjoy this too. Here is the link to the website for the book, from there, you will find out where to purchase if you are interested. This book  has won a book festival award. Animals, Animals, Animals named it 2015 Best Children’s Book.

I am starting my hopping a day early because this week, I am co-hosting Feeling Beachie’s Follow Friday Four Fill-In Fun. I came up with the last 2 statements.

  1. I had to chuckle at #4. I always rise before I need to. I get the roosters up each day.

I was saddened to hear of Sam’s passing. Many have crossed The Bridge this year.

  2. That seems a nice book to read to children.

Funny statements!! Pawppy hates it too when a kitty or MJF gets to be a drain of $$, but…you gotta do what you gotta do.

We are pawyering hard fur Sam.

  3. Sounds like a sweet book……the plight of ferals is something that those of us who adore cats keeps near and dear to our hearts – it’s what inspired me to write one of my childrens’ books several years ago.

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Your book was excellent. Feral cats have such tough lives, I wish they could all have forever homes.

  4. That sounds like a lovely book.
My mum is retired so the alarm is banned unless she needs to get up early for a particular reason. She turns the horses out into the fields at 8.30 now instead of 7am and says they can have a lie in too!

      1. I get fed first, then the horses, and mum and dad come last. She always gives me a late supper when she goes to bed so I still have some food left in the morning. She likes to keep fresh food down for me all the time to encourage me to eat. Since I became ill I don’t eat as much as I should, but I keep trying.

        1. I am glad your Mum has her priorities right and makes sure you get to eat first 🙂 Keep trying- I hope you get your appetite back sweet Flynn.

  5. We’ll be sure to check out the book. We have a soft spot in our hearts for feral kitties.
