Happy Thursday everyone! I decided to upgrade my Christmas stocking this year.

001My small last year’s one is next to it, but you can barely see it. I figure I have been mostly good this year and I do a lot of work around here so I deserve a big stocking.

I helped Sammy with his Cat Scout service project, sending cards to people in rehab centers and a hospice. 002 003Sammy did do some of the work too.

Stinky went to the vet Wednesday. She can see that the retina in her bad eye is flat, but she can’t tell us why. She gave Mom the number for a kitty eye specialist about an hour away so Mom is going to call today. She is hoping to get in for Monday or she may have to wait until after Christmas. Mom was actually a little relieved because she would rather have a problem in the eye than in the brain. Thank you all for your purrs and prayers. We will keep you posted.

I haven’t seen my Grammie since Monday. I love her so very much, I hope she visits today.

  4. Paws crossed that Stinky can get into the eye doctor before Christmas! Although you are right, it’s better it’s an eye problem than something else.

  9. You sure are helpful with the Scouts card project Phoebe…..I’m sure Sammy appreciates it. I think your BIG pink stocking is nice and roomy so Santa Paws should be able to put LOTS of stuff in that for you! Glad to hear that Stinky only has an eye issue and not something worse. Hopefully the eye specialist can let you all know what’s going on with her………meanwhile, isn’t it FUN waiting for Santa Paws to come visit us?????

  11. Phoebe, you and your mom are so kind and caring. You deserve the biggest stocking you can get.

    We are so very glad to hear this more hopeful news on Stinky. Hopefully it is indeed just her eye, as that can surely be managed. My Angel Rosie had a problem eye for almost her entire 21-year life. When she was young her right eye started to change color and the pupil became irregular. These changes were deemed benign, and not much was done but monitor it (I guess 20 years ago they didn’t know much what to do with such a strange eye issue as hers). For over 15 years Rosie just had an abnormal eye out of which she could not see much, if at all. Strangely, at 21 years old, that eye of Rosie’s suddenly started to degrade. So, at that point we had it removed. Sadly, my girl Rosie passed away a few months after her eye removal, but that was due to progressive heart disease and cancer wholly unrelated to her eye.

  12. Prayers for all your family – your Mom is right about an eye problem being the lesser of 2 evils. Hopefully you all will have a Merry Christmas ! (There are 13 of us here, plus one who is off visiting – and 2 woofies !)

  13. I second what The Menagerie Mom said. You are so very kind and loving that your entire family deserves nothing but the best. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Oh, I’ll keep purring about the eye problem. Hopefully it can be fixed easily. It is the lesser of all the evils.

  17. That’s a mighty big stocking. I hope Santa fills it with lots of yummy foods or fun toys. Hopefully the eye vet can figure out what’s going on with Stinky-Winky’s eye…and it’s just her eye.

  20. We think Santa Claws won’t have any problem filling your stocking sweet Phoebe. Your Mama sure is busy doing all sorts of nice things for everyone! Would you tell her we received the wine cat tags from the auction? Thank you! And thank you for the sweet , knitted cat toys she included in the parcel. We are very much enjoying them 🙂
