ROAR to PALS and Second Chance

Hi everyone! As most of you know Wednesday is ROAR day which is basically a shout out to a great cat rescue organization or individual. This week is a double roar, first to Second Chance for having such great services at low costs. As you know, that is where we took Mia. While we were there, I dropped off the books I gathered last week to donate and I also donated some old shoes. I am not sure what happens with the shoes, but I know they get some money for them. I am impressed with all the different ways they get funding- you can even donate an old car.

My other ROAR goes to People for Animals League in Spencer, MA. They do not have nearly as many resources or funding, but they save a lot of pets. I love to crochet, but I am not patient enough to make anything big so I make lots of cat toys- balls, fish, pumpkins, apples, tea bags and fortune cookies. I always donate them to PALS to sell for $1/each- it is a win/win situation because people get a nice cat toy and help animals all at once. My niece works at VCA Wickaboag ( West Brookfield) and they kindly display them for sale on their counter.

It is going to be hot and humid in New England today so try to keep your kitties cool. Here is a photo of Phoebe “mowing” the cat grass. 010

  1. Oohhh… Those cat toys sound wonderful. They include nip?

That rescue must be a WONDERFUL rescue. What a great rescue to help out with those toys. Bet they appreciate them a lot.

  2. That’s pretty much kitty heaven…cat grass to eat right on the cat tree. Our Mom does like you, she makes catnip toys for the TNR/Rescue she works with to sell to help raise funds. Every little bit helps. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
