Hi everyone!

Ready for the contest? I am going to have you take a guess as to whether the new kitty is a boy or a girl. Also, does it have a microchip? I am sure many will answer both correctly so whoever does will be entered to win this catnip mat and crocheted turkey leg and baby rat.

Just answer in the comment section of today’s post. I will accept answers until Wednesday night at 9 PM ( EST). I will announce the winner in Thursday’s post.

Mom will be heartbroken if this kitty has a microchip, she is already quite attached. She has been able to brush the kitty and remove some mats. There was no fleas or flea dirt which is a miracle.

I haven’t seen Grammie since Saturday and I miss her. I love her so very much, I hope she visits soon.

    2. Thanks for guessing. I think it is spayed too because it does not seem to be pregnant and if it is a boy, it is definitely neutered 🙂 XO

  5. We are guessing she is Emmy and has no chip…but if there are no fleas, then someone treated her?? And since she is so furendly already she obviously was not on her own for too long.

    Its hard to imagine a pretty kitty like this to be ‘dumped’. ]

    1. Thanks for guessing. I can’t imagine anyone dumping this kitty, but it is scared of men so I think it may have been abused.

  7. I think Oscar has found his new home and he doesn’t have a chip……BUT he may have been neutered already…….no matter WHAT, I think he/she is HOME AT LAST!!! Glad your Mom got to brush the kitty and get its’ beautiful fur sorted out…..the flea treatment she gave it seems to have worked!

  8. He is a boy and no microchip. He has found his new home or hopefully he has. I don’t think he has been neutered yet. I so hope you get to keep him.

    1. If it is a boy, he has been neutered because there is no smell- I remember Brody was potent 🙂 Thank you, I hope I can keep him too.

Since i already won one of your contests, i’ll bow out with this comment — since the cat is so matted, even if there is a microchip, you might be able to report it as neglected and be allowed to keep her/him. There could be extenuating circumstances, as in the cat ran off when the family moved and they couldn’t find it, but be a little suspicious until you know for certain.

    1. I am suspicious, the kitty fears men so I wonder if someone abused him or her.

  23. Hmm…a puzzlement! This kitty looks so much like our Angel Sammy, but I cannot really tell if boy or girl. Okay, I’ll go for boy. No to microchip. I am concerned that this beauty was declawed and dumped, because why else would he be roaming around? You are keeping the mystery going!

    1. The kitty has claws, I checked for that. Very sweet cat though, doesn’t try to scratch.

    1. I first spotted the kitty April 30th, but it may have been around 2 week beyond that because some animal was trying to break into the garage.
      I don’t know how it avoided fleas, I treated a few days ago, but there was no flea dirt.
      That is my hope, a girl with no chip, but boy or girl, I am keeping unless there is a chip.

  28. I’m thinking either girl or neutered boy, because you’d know an intact male if you had one. 🙂 and no, no chip. They just are not widely used. and then on the off chance there is one, I bet it isn’t registered, because that happens a lot too

  37. We’re not going to enter because we’ve won some of your catnip toys, and we want to give others a chance to enjoy them. BUT… we say no chip and a boy.

  40. My guess: boy, and, “chipped” keeps popping into my head, though I don’t want a chip to be in there either! I can’t imagine going through getting a pet chipped and then not keeping up with the pet.

    It is such a beautiful kitty. Black and white, a classic kitty. It looks so very soft. 🙂

      1. Awww I’m sorry to hear that. Is your husband very tall? If he is, maybe this is intimidating to the kitty. When we got our Angel dog Shep, she was afraid of David to start with. He’d stand up and she’d cower. We wondered if maybe she’d been abused before, too. She got to be accepting of him, but she would still cower when he stood up. If your husband sits down and talks softly to the kitty, no sudden moves or anything like that, and over time slowly gets closer and closer, maybe the kitty will learn to trust him. That is how it was working for me and our Angel Bagels. He was a no pet me for the longest time, but he eventually let me slowly approach and pet him. Then, David went into the hospital for a month and all of my trust gaining got undone because I was not here to help Bagels remember that I was safe.

        Sorry to ramble on. I hope that this kitty will learn to trust your husband. Have a blessed night. 🙂

    Awww what a total sweetie! I hope the kitty doesn’t have a chip and is in need of a wonderful furever home like yours! I really understand getting attached quickly. Every single cat on earth will steal my heart instantly! That’s just how it is?? Every kitty is such a unique and amazing soul and a wonderful friend.

    Since we’re not too late yet with guessing, Murli and I will take a guess. Murli says no chip, and I say the kitty is a girl??
