Hi everyone! Bet you weren’t expecting a Penny’s Tips on a Monday. As you know tomorrow is Dr. Seuss Day so I am doing my post today and I invited Emmy again because we have more Dr. Seuss ideas for you.
Mom made a Cat in the Hat out of a lightbulb and she painted one on a rock. This photo is blurry, here is a close up.
She also made a Grinch out of a light bulb year ago and somehow it is still around which is a miracle because she is a klutz.
They are both easy to make. Mom used acrylic paint from Walmart, it is only 50 cents a bottle. She is keeping the light bulbs, but she will leave the rock by the library. There is a spot there to leave them for others to take.
We also found an easy snack to make that she plans to make with The Great One this week. It is just a pretzel with a white chocolate melt and a green m&m to look like green eggs. She found that on a blog called Practical Functionality. Click here.
We are joiningComedy Plus’ Awww …Mondays andCreate with Joy’s Inspire Me Monday blog hops. And don’t forget tomorrow is the big day and Comedy Plus is hosting the Dr. Seuss Hop.

Hi Penny! we are glad to see you here today (instead of Tuesday)! We love your crafts! With the light bulbs and the rocks and the green eggs! We have asked Mom to make the ham (instead of the green eggs) for us! She said we could each have a slice of deli ham tomorrow to celebrate Dr Seuss’ birthday! Slide through the tunnel and we will get Mom to give you one too! Have a marvellously happy day!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Your mom is so creative!
Thank you. 🙂
How creative! I love the lightbulbs.
Thank you. 🙂
Those are fun, your mom is very creative!
Thank you. 🙂
Great tips! We especially like the rock one. Our mom saw that someone had left painted rocks in different spots in our little enclave, but a Seuss one would be extra fun!
Thank you. Happy Dr. Seuss Day!
Penny,
Your mom is so clever and creative. I like the painted light bulbs and the rock is really cute, too.
I agree! And remember, we klutzy people need love, too. 🙂
Good point. 🙂 XO
Thank you. Happy Dr. Seuss Day! XO
Great ideas and not difficult. Mom could manage the lightbulbs just fine.
