Hi everyone! I have a craft for you today plus i want to tell you about some superstitions. Grammie loaned me this book titled Knock On Wood by Linda Spencer.
This book says if you find a penny heads up, keep it, if it is heads down, give it away because it is bad luck. That seems kind of mean to give bad luck away. My mom picks up all pennies ( even me).
It also says if you give a garment as a gift be sure to include a coin for good luck. I have heard of doing that when giving a purse to someone, but never clothes- Mom! Take note!
And now for a super easy Halloween craft-
All you need is a black wreath ( Michael’s has them 40 % off). If you can’t find one, you can spray paint a regular one.
Then you add a pretty ribbon and glue some sparkly items on it. Mom went a little crazy with this one, you don’t need that many items. Next week, I will have more superstitions for you and another Halloween craft.

And my M in L said you need to place a new penny on knives if you gift them to anyone.
But not a nice penny like you, there are none new of you to give away! We love you and wouldn’t think if it, nor your mom, we are SURE of that!
Interesting wreath you made there!
My human never sees pennies at all anymore!
I find them almost every time I go out. 🙂
What a wonderfully spooky door wreath that is! I may need to get my Mom to make one for our door even though no trick or treaters this year………
Hugs, Teddy
Thank you. XO
My Mom was a believer in putting a coin in a purse that was given as a gift… sweet memory for me. Your Halloween wreath is Spooktacular! Great idea. I will have to find something for the front porch, a pumpkin for sure!
Glad I brought back sweet memory. Thank you. XO
Thank you Penny! 🙂 <3
You’re welcome 🙂 XO
Penny, that is a good tip and who knows…Mom may be inspired to do it.
Thank you. I hope she does 🙂 XO
Penny, now that is a neat wreath! We think all pennies are lucky (even you!) and also pick them up.
Thank you for your wise tips, Penny. I love the wreath.

Penny, I figure if the gods want to put money (even pennies) in my path, it’s only right that I accept their gift!
Good point 🙂

Mew mew mew they sure do make thingss Penny!! 😉
We really like this one Penny. Our Dad has to get more crafty. Wait, did we mean that, or…
Thank you, Yes, he should.
That’s a very Halloween-y wreath, nice too. Mom picks up all coins she finds and never looks to see if they are heads up. One time she found a $20 bill:) And yes, she has heard that about giving a purse or wallet and putting a coin in it, but never for a piece of clothing. That’s very odd.

Thank you. Wow $20 would buy a lot of cat treats 🙂
At my age, just bending over to pick up a penny could be asking for trouble. 🙂
MOL! 🙂
Those are some interesting superstitions, Penny. We’ve always heard…see a penny, pick it up, all the day, you’ll have good luck. 🙂
That is what mom does too. 🙂
Love the wreath! I had never heard that about purses either.
Thank you. 🙂
Well, I think your mom would only give a penny away the lucky way. Just flip it over, right? 🙂 Your adoring fans love you, Penny!
Awww…thank you. XO
Haha I agree it’s kind of mean to give away bad luck to someone 🙂 Penny, we know you are a good luck!
The Halloween wreath is very pretty 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
While i’ve heard of making a person buy a gift knife from you with a penny so you don’t cut the friendship, i hadn’t heard of giving money in clothing or a purse that way.
Very nice wreath!
I never give anything sharp for fear of severing a friendship- I didn’t know about a coin with that.. 🙂
Ellen,
Good idea if you’re into Halloween decorating! Thanks for sharing and visiting, my furriend! 😉
Thank you. 🙂 XO
My mom usually picks up pennies–upside down or right-side up–when she finds them. Ooh that wreath you and your momma crafted is spooktacular! Mom and I love All Hallows Eve decor and we also love doing crafts any time of the year. Purr purr purr.
Thank you. XO
Granny picks up every penny, with or without the head up or down, she says it’s the start of a million…well…we still have to wait a little longer if that’s true…MOL😺Double Pawkiss🐾😽💞
I do too. XO
Penny, you are the best penny your mom ever picked up. Good luck for both of you! 🙂 xo
Yes, she sure is. XO
My grandmother said that you should put a lucky penny in the pocket of clothing and a purse when they are a gift
She was wise. 🙂
