Hi everyone! Did you miss me? Happy Chinese New Year! It is the year of the pig.
Do you know what you are? My mom is a rooster. If you don’t know what you are, click here.
Did you know that pennies in Bermuda used to have pigs on the back? My mom has some old ones, she as never been to Bermuda, but someone her Gramma knew gave them to her when she was a kid ( a long time ago).
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Happy Chinese New Year, Penny? We like the pennies with miss piggy on it, very nice 😀 I’m a horse and Granny is a dog, I was hoping I was a cat as I look like one?Pawkisses for a magical Year of the Pig???
Happy Chinese New Year! XO
I’ve always enjoyed collecting foreign currency. Maybe that’s a little weird – but it’s interesting to see all the differences!
That is not weird at all.
My human didn’t know about the pigs on Bermuda pennies! Me? I think there should be cats on the FRONT (we’d never settle for the back).
I agree 🙂
We didn’t know about Bermuda’s pennies either! My Mom and Dad have been there but didn’t notice that…..but then they didn’t notice much of anything other than how beautiful it was there, how pink the sand was and how delicious the sun felt! Oh and Mom found out what a “rum swizzle” was – whatever THAT is!
Hugs, Teddy
I wonder what that is ? 🙂 XO
Oooh I’m a dragon! Laser is a monkey and McLaren is a Rooster. That checks out – Laser causes trouble and blames it on McLaren and McLaren always meows a lot in the morning!
Mom is a rooster too 🙂
I didn’t know pennies in Bermuda had pigs on the back. Cool. I learn something new every single day.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday and Chinese New Year. ♥
There is always something to learn 🙂 Happy Chinese New YEar!
Yes, missed you Penny! I am a Rabbit. I have never been to Bermuda and did not know about the pig pennies! Have to ask Teddy’s Mom about the rum swizzle.. Ha! Thank you Penny for today’s tip and the link where I found out I was a rabbit.
Rum swizzle? You’re welcome 🙂
Rum swizzle Teddy’s Mom talks about in her comment about her visit to Bermuda. I will stick to wine… 🙂
I saw that after I answered your comment 🙂
We do think the years we were born do show some of our traits. Pigs are seen as lucky and signs of wealth for a lot of people. The Germans have Glueckschweine (lucky pigs) at New Years and often show them with money. Happy Chinese New Year.
That is interesting. Happy Chinese New Year!
I was born in the Chinese year of the Rabbit, but I prefer the Vietnamese version which is the year of the cat.
That is cool that they include a cat 🙂 XO
Glad to see you back Penny. Interesting about the Bermuda pennies. Who knew???. You all have a most wonderful day.
Thank you. XO
Mom here is a Tiger…no surprise there since she’s really part cat! We didn’t know about the pennies….that’s pretty cool.
The Florida Furkids
Thank you. XO
Why is there a year of the dog but not a year of the cat? I guess a tiger is close enough. I am a rabbit and my wife is a rat. Since we live with cats that’s probably not good. 🙂
We wondered that too 🙂 There should be a year of the cat.
Cats are cuter than coins. . .??❤
I agree 🙂
How cool is it that your mom still has those pennies with the pigs on the back! How appropriate for today.
She has had them a long time.
I was really disappointed to find out I am a “dog”! Anything but that!!!
That is funny 🙂
Well it says:
You are a: Rat
Lucky numbers: 2, 3
Lucky colors: blue, gold, green
If I made the list it would ready:
you are a : Cat
Lucky number: 7
Lucky color : red and purple and lavender
LOL
Hugs Cecilia
That is funny 🙂 XO
This sounds Crazy but I’m a cat and my zodiac year is the year of the Dog. I will 13 this year so that means I roughly was born September 12 2006.
Daisy Mae
That is funny Daisy Mae 🙂
Happy Chinese New Year. I just checked and I got the dog. Great learning about the Bermuda penny having a pig on the back. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful rest of your week.
Happy Chinese New Year!! We hope you have a great week.
Our human sister-in-law is from Taiwan so she makes sure we all know what we are. Lightning’s year is the rabbit, Misty’s is the monkey, and Timber’s is the rooster. Mom says they suit us well because Lightning is the rabbit hunter, Misty is mischievous like a monkey, and Timber is always howling away, his version of the rooster’s crowing:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
And what is your mom?

I’m a snake! I didn’t know that about Bermuda coins.
Mom gets along good with snakes- Dad and Grammie are too.
That’s interesting about Bermuda pennies. Thanks for sharing with us. 🙂
You’re welcome 🙂
I’m a pig… can I be something else???
Pigs are cute 🙂
I’m also a rooster!
🙂
I was born in the year of the Rat (or Mouse), and The Hubby is a Snake (or Serpent). Sometimes, it feels like I need to hide from him…LOL!
My hubby is a snake too 🙂
Hello and happy Chinese New Year, Penny! Your pig pennies are really neat. I have always been intrigued by various forms of currency, but I had no idea about these. Oh, and it would seem that I’m a snake, which freaks me out just a tad bit. Warm wishes!
Happy Chinese New Year! Snakes are good- my Grammie and Daddy are snakes. 🙂
Hi Penny! What an interesting fact. Yes, we did miss you.
Thank you 🙂
What an interesting tidbit about the pigs on the coins!
Thank you 🙂
Happy New Year! Pennies with pigs on them sound really fun.
Happy New Year!
I am an ox, Samantha is a horse, and Luke is a snake. My hubby is a monkey. We’ve got quite the zoo here!! LOL
