Penny’s Tips Volume 143

Hi everyone! Did you miss me?

As you know., Cat Scouts closed. A lot of the Scouts found another place to meet so mom is going to keep doing monthly craft classes. She is supposed to do origami today, but her giant man hands are not made for origami.

She did OK on the cat.

Her butterfly looks like a paper airplane that crashed though.

If you want to try it, here are the videos she followed:

And now for my tip on saving money. When you order stuff online, be sure to read the dimensions of the product when it sounds like a really good deal.

Mom thought she was purchasing a full-sized game to play with the girls.

As you can see, it is more penny sized.  It is still fun though, but not the bargain she thought it was.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

See you next month.

    1. No, there is a tiny version of that, but this is a crocodile dentist. You push a tooth and hope he doesn’t bite you. 🙂 MOL- flew into the window. 🙂 XO

  2. Yes, yes, SIZE MATTERS, for sure. Make sure that bedspread you order isn’t for a doll house, haha. LOVE the origami kitty. Very professional. And…butterflies come in all shapes, you bad kitty, haha.

  3. My dad says he had an origami set when he was real young and loved it. More recently, his oldest grandson has been getting into it, so he and mom bought him a nice book of origami with tons of papers and delightful things to make. Yeah, on that size thing- we’ve read so many stories about things that weren’t quite what they were advertised to be, so beware!

    1. That is a nice gift. Glad it comes with paper because thin paper makes it easier.

  4. Of course we missed you! Glad your Mom is continuing with craft classes – now she needs to have them here on the blog for those who aren’t following the former Scout groups – like ME!

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Next time it will be on the bog, but origami was a disaster. XO

  5. I have always been able to make the origami crane. I’ve never tried anything else once I figured it out I decided that it was really too involved so congratulations on the cat. And a penny toy for a Penny that actually isn’t good deal. Just not good enough for two little girls to play with.

  6. You are so right about dimensions. Read every bit of information they see fit to provide. I have backed off from a purchase because I read the extra fine print. I got nailed a couple of times though.

  7. I’m glad you found a new place to craft! For an Easter craft at my craft night we made oragami bunnies … I had not seen the cat and maybe should give it a try ha ha. I have also ordered things online that ended up not as expected …. go back and read the small print … sigh …. silly me. You think I would have learned but I’ve done it more than twice!! Have a happy day!!

    1. Origami bunnies for Easter sounds fun. You have a very fun family. XO

  8. My fumbling fingers won’t cooperate in making origami. Fifty years or so of typing has taken its toll. I order most things online and one thing I like about Amazon, is it gives you the size and fluid ounces of the products. The images of the products can be deceiving.

  9. Good tips from your mum Penny.
Mum has not done origami. maybe she will…or not.
She is still trying to find a hobby she likes.
So far, reading is winning. I like that as I get to snooze on her lap 😉

    1. Reading sounds like a win-win. 🙂 Crochet is good too because you can play with the yarn while on her lap. XO

  10. I’m sorry about Cats Scouts closing. I can’t do origami. I don’t have a crafty bone in my body.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. XO ♥

  11. Penny, Yes you were missed! Penny your Mom is always making me laugh. The butterfly looks a little smooshed but the cat is super darling! We really check for dimensions now cause we have been taken a few times. Hugs to you all!

  12. I think the cat is really cute! I used to be able to do an origami swan and a few others as a kid in the 1980s, but I have long since lost that skill.

  13. I tried to build an origami chess set once, what a disaster! Glad to know I’m not the only origami-challenged Cat Mom – MOL!

  14. Granny only makes boats out of a piece of papurr since she was little, but it’s really not her piece of cake🙈Your mom is very creative and such a great idea to give us some lessons😺Double Pawkisses for all of you🐾😽💞

  15. Online ordering can be really frustrating. I was looking for a large chai pot. Large is relative – all the way from 8 oz to 29 oz. (I was looking for something to make 2 cups at the same time, including the spices.) Lots of results, only one that was what I was actually looking for.
