Penny’s Tips Volume 100

Hi everyone!

My mom said I can’t gossip. She said I can’t tell anything unless it is true, useful and kind. SO I guess I can’t tell you about Brody’s bald spot and Penny’s…..

OK pipsqueak- move along, time for my tips. I know I am dressed in green a day early for St. Patrick’s Day, but did you know you can get pinched for not wearing green  on that day? I already have to worry about Penny pinchers so I am not taking any chances.

My tip today is a twist on a recipe. My Dad’s favorite kind of cookies are cherry winks so mom makes them with regular red cherries for Christmas and his birthday. On St. Patrick’s Day, she makes him some with green cherries.

Here is the link to the recipe at Kitchen Riffs blog, click here.

Just substitute a jar of green cherries for the red. Be sure they are not flavored as there are some cherries you can buy for drinks that are different colors and flavors.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday andCreate with Joy’s Inspire Me Monday blog hops.

Before we go, we want to give our condolences to Grammie. Her sweet kitty, Eloise passed away Monday evening after a long illness.

This photo was from the day she adopted her in 2013.  Eloise was 14.

  1. My human was salivating at that cookie recipe! She already has chocolate chips in the cupboard, however, so that will be probably be her next batch of cookies instead.

I am very sorry about Eloise.

  2. So sad to hear about Eloise and I send lots of purrs to Grammie.
That cookie recipe sounds good to mum. I am happy with my treats 😉
    Purrs, Julie

  3. I am sorry to hear of Eloise and send my condolences to your Grammie. Those cherry winks look good!

  4. Dad and I are sorry to hear about Eloise, too. Here’s some hugs for your Grammie in hopes they help make her feel better. Oh, and dad wants some of those cookies. Just don’t let mom know.

  5. So sorry to hear about your Grammie’s kitty Eloise. I’m sure she’s enjoying having her wings but misses your Grammie. I wonder if we’re supposed to eat something GREEN tomorrow? Maybe a green cherry from a cherry wink cookie???????????

    Hugs, Teddy

  6. Oh goody we got both Penny’s tips and some gossip too. The best of both worlds.

So sorry for the loss of Eloise. So hard to let them go.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Ellen. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥

  7. My condolences to all who knew and loved Eloise.

Green cherry winks sound like something Leprechauns would eat, thank you, Penny.

Because my accounts get treated like spam by so many blogs (and i don’t know why), i am never sure if my comments come through, so i don’t know if my suggestion came through yesterday. It would be nice if we had alternating Penny’s Tips one week and Nosie Rosie’s News (not gossip, news) the next week. That way we get to hear from both of you regularly!

    1. Thank you. Sorry about your comments, we always get them , but wordpress makes us approve them every time.
Penny won’t share the spotlight. 🙂 XO

  8. Good tip about the cookies! We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Eloise; we send hugs and purrs to grammy. XO

  9. I’m sorry for the loss of Eloise. I bet she had a lot of love in her life. Watch out for those Penny pinchers! 😉 Your tips crack me up.

  10. We send Grammie & all of you purrayers as you are missing Eloise, as she goes off on her next adventure .

  11. So sorry that Grammie lost Eloise. Soft woos and gentle hugs to her from all of us.

  13. We want to begin by sending our purrs, thoughts, and prayers to Grammie over the loss of her sweet Eloise. What a beautiful angel Eloise was and always will be.

It was so nice to see both of you today, Rosie and Penny! And given that I love cookies as well as cherries, I’m definitely going to have to give these cherry wink cookies a try. We hope none of you get pinched today! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  14. Great Recipe thanks. Dad says he will start baking after he drops a few pounds.
We send our condolences and purrs and prayers of support for dear Grammie. Eloise looks like she was really sweet and we know she was welcomed at the Bridge

  15. Rosie made me smile. She just about got away with spilling the beans. It’s a good thing Penny quietened her before she got into further trouble. Penny Pinching is only fun when you don’t have to pinch pennies. 🙂 The cookie recipe is a good idea for St. Paddy’s Day. Thanks for sharing! 😉

  16. So sorry to hear about Eloise. My sympathy goes out to Grammie. Hope you all had a great St. Paddy’s day!
