Nosey Rosie’s Gabfest

Hi everyone! I am having a great week with no kids to hide from.  I did have a bit of a fright on Saturday when mom was facetiming with The Great One. I thought she was here, so I hid and so did Brody, Trouble and Tuffy.

Mom’s friend was able to trap the sickly stray cat. Mom went with her to the Tractor Supply clinic and it turns out Vinny is hyperthyroid. Mom’s friend took him back with her so he can be with his brother. She is pretty sure she can get him to take the pill twice a day if crushed into his food.

Mom is doing one of her craft classes with the former Cat Scouts today. They are going to make reusable bags out of old t-shirts. Mom had an old t-shirt from The Nanny tv show.

All you do is cut the collar off and most of the sleeves.

Then you turn it inside out and sew the bottom by hand or with a sewing machine. Then flip it back so you can see the design. If you don’t sew, you can cut a bunch of 6 inch long strips across the bottom of the shirt. Then you tie the strips two at a time across the bottom. You can do it with the shirt inside out then reverse it so the ties are not visible or you can have them out for a fringe type look.

Sorry to disappoint you gossip wise. The Beasty Boys have really calmed down, I may need a new name for them.

  1. Good on your Mm’s friend for taking n the kitty that needs meds. Purrayers and POTP !

  2. Interesting report, Rosie! I’m so glad your Mom’s friend is going to take care of the sick kitty! That’s a great idea to reuse the t-shirts. I thought about ways to re-use old T-shirts that are too small now, but have designs I still like. Never got around to trying it, though. XO

  3. That is a clever way too repurpose an old T shirt.

So glad that the sickly kitty will get the help needs.

That is funny that you had to hide form the face time app, LOL! That’s like when us pups bark at dogs on the computer screen.

  4. How about The Beatific Boys? And we’re not sure about the fringe thingy. Mama is studying the instructions but it’s early here and the coffee hasn’t kicked in, whatever that means….You have the most come-hither eyeballs, Rosie, wow!

  5. That craft is very crafty and useful! Thanks for sharing it! So the Beastie Boys have calmed down? Maybe they just WANT you to THINK they have but they’re planning some future mayhem. Better stay alert!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  6. That is a good idea for old T shirts. Ivor usually has them for using in the garage but you have given me the idea to not cut the neck too big and put a clothes hanger in it and use it for reusable bags. I am glad the Beastie Boys have calmed down, and also that your mom’s friend is going to care for the stray cat.

  7. Dear Rosie, your mom’s trick with the t-shirt is a fun one. I have used blue jean pant legs and t-shirts for many years to make useful bags. Sometimes the stuff that went in the bags wasn’t so useful, LOL.

  8. I’m glad the Scouts are still meeting even if occasionally . I know that was the best fun for all of them when they were still a group.

  9. MOL MOL that Facetime can be a tricky thing. Good to know you enjoyed no kiddo days.
OMCs. Ellen are you a lefty? Looks like you are cutting with your left paw!! Favorite sis of angel Madi is a lefty too.

  12. Java Bean: “Ayyy, when I was new I used to bark at the screen when my Dada did FaceTime with his parents and his auntie, but now I know they stay in the computer and don’t come out, so all es bueno.”
Charlee: “We are glad to hear the sickly stray will be getting medicine!”

  13. Great idea with the old t-shirts! And… super great news about Vinny. Your Mom’s friend thinking she can pill him is a very good thing. Rosie, I’m sorry you had a little scare with the facetime deal. That was a coincidence kinda thing. No disappointment today. You had some good news and the craft was fun. I don’t know what to think about the Beasty Boys but I think it’s another great thing!

  14. Rosie looks quite cute and cozy today. How nice that this very needy stray kitty is being tended to. It might be nice to make a coupe of tiny t-shirts for your Beasty Boys. Maybe the heat has slowed them down.

  15. Glad you’re having a relaxing time Rosie. I like your Mom’s craft project.
