Monday Hops

Hi everyone! Today we are joining Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? and Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays Blog Hops.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading 2015

DSCF2232 Sammy is showing you most of my selection of the week. I am also reading a cat book that I will review this week.

I am reading Stop at the Red Apple: The Restaurant on Route 17 by Elaine Freed Lindenblatt. For anyone not familiar that was a stop on the way to The Catskills for many years. I have never been and it is now closed, but it is interesting to read about.

Normally, This Would Be Cause for Concern by Danielle Fishel is a fun memoir. I already fessed up to watching Girl Meets World so I will fess up to enjoying this immensely. I have had several laughing fits, the cats look at me like I am crazy. And she writes that she is always in her pajamas at home- me too 🙂

FAQ Me by James Altucher is interesting. I am a big fan of his, I will write more about him in another post. He answers questions on Twitter every Thursday afternoon and this book is a bunch of those.

For Awww….Monday we have Phoebe and Snowball  ( Sammy is in the background too) .

  1. However do you manage to get through so many books in a week?!
I can’t manage more than two at a time, one in Hebrew and one in English or – as I’m doing now, one fiction and the other non-fiction, whether or not in the same language. But that would still take me more than a week, unless one of them was VERY light reading, in English.

    1. I read a little in each daily and I finish by the end of the week 🙂

  2. You’re all looking mighty fine today! We love hearing about your books-in-progress. You always give us such wonderful reads to add to our “to read” list. And, I’m very glad to know that I’m not the only person who likes to hang out in pajamas at home. On TV they always show people all dressed up in jeans and jewelry and makeup while hanging out at home, and all I can think is that I must look like a potato sack compared to that. Honestly, though, I think I’m okay with that. Well, purrs to all of you, and have a lovely day!

    1. I am OK with that too, until we get a pop-in visit. 🙂 Hope you have a nice day.

  3. You sure are reading a lot this week!!! As soon as my mom comes home she changes into her pjs! If anybody wants her to go anywhere with them they have to arrange it ahead of time because as she says “One the bra comes off, I’m not going anywhere!” That includes the mailbox!!! (Which is why, Mr/s Postman, she gets the mail once a week when she puts the trash can on the street!

    1. I am exactly like your Mom 🙂 Which is why I hate pop in visits because I have to grab a sweatshirt to cover up my pajama top. I used to go out to get the mail with my robe over the pj’s, but neighbors teased me so now I send the hubby.

  4. What a great bunch of photos with happy kitties in them! I’m sure your Mom is happy too with all those great books to read…………..STAY COOL!

    Love, Sammy

  6. Hey,, I live in my pj’s when I’m not out and about. Just too darn comfy. Why get dressed up at home? The kitties don’t care (lol).

    1. Thank you. I don’t like to get my clothes covered in cat hair so house- plus the comfort factor too.

  7. I think it is funny you “fess up” to watching Girl Meets World.” I have never seen that show but, many years ago, more than 30 now, a friend of mine was discussing a situation that was going on in his personal and professional life. He said he did not want to be like these two characters in a soap opera. He went on to explain the situation.

What was funny was that I, too, had been watching the show. I would come home from U.S.C.S. and turn on the tube. Back then, we only had 3 or four channels to choose from. The strongest signal that time of day came from a channel that was showing The Guiding Light. I turned it on for the noise, since I was living by myself for the first time ever. It seemed to be a good idea.

I would cook lunch while the show was on. I got interested in the show and actually enjoyed it. I think the show was the Guiding Light and the problem he was talking about was between a young doctor, Kelly, and his fiancee, Morgan.

I would not have told any of my friends that a big, skinny, redneck watched a soap opera or, as most women called them, stories.

    Have a great Monday.

  8. I’m glad you liked the Danielle Fishel book! I am a big Boy Meets World fan and that book has been sitting on my tbr list for way too long.
