Mewsic Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays, and Mewsic Moves Me (hosted by Curious as a Cathy, Xmas Dolly, JAmerican Spice and Stacy Uncorked.)

This week’s theme for Mewsic Moves Me is songs about Remembering or Forgetting. They don’t have to have Forget or Remember in the title, just in the lyrics.

  1. Strawberry Wine ( Deanna Carter)- 1995- One line , ” I still remember when thirty was old” –

2. Never Say Goodbye ( Bon Jovi-1986)-

3. Memory ( from the musical, CATS)-

I don’t know why Mom thinks I licked her Klondike bar. My spark for today is “Life is Short. Eat Dessert First.” by Jacques Torres.

  1. HAHA on the Klondike bar photo!! There’s some mighty good music represented here…….and some memories.

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

    1. I am glad you got to see it. I saw it too right before it ended in NYC. XO

  2. Those songs are just so great. Such a good idea to have desert first. Great spark. Have a super day.

  3. Love the music and love the Spark. Also love the kitty. Yes let’s eat dessert first.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your mom. ♥

  4. Strawberry wine? WINE? Hmmm… Methinks I now know why the peep is payin’ attention to her stupid strawberries plants and not learnin’ how to grow the nip. Tell me.. Do peeps make wine out of lettuce, too? MOUSES!

    1. You can make wine with anything, but I doubt the lettuce one would taste good 🙂 XO

  5. Strawberry Wine is one of my favorites. The Beatles “In My Life” is another one.

  6. Oh, you brought back some memories with Strawberry Wine. That came out when I was a kid, and I used to play it on repeat all the time. And your Spark is perfect! Trouble sure makes an adorable model for it, too. Happy Monday!

  7. I got to see Bon Jovi live several times and it’s always a good show. This tune brings back bittersweet memories of my first love. ~sigh~ Anyway, many years ago my husband took me to see the musical ‘Cats’. That was kind of him. Be well!

    1. Very cool you have seen Bon Jovi several times. Strawberry Wine reminds me of my first love. I saw CATS on Broadway right before it ended, my mom and I took my niece.

  9. Dad loved Klondike bars!!! Great songs. Mom never heard the Strawberry Wine one but she liked it. Mom is a VERY FAR distant cousin of Jon Bon Jovi. Of course, anything from Cats is a favorite here.

  10. That’s a great spark this week. Sometimes TW really wants to skip right to dessert. You picked NJ’s own Bon Jovi. Good choice!

  11. Memory always makes me tear up.

There’s nothing so good as ice cream, especially ice cream surrounded by chocolate!

  12. Most enjoyable music! Especially “Memories!” Cute kitty! And we did your Spark today! Yep, but we didn’t just have dessert first. We had it instead! ??

    1. Glad you liked my choices 🙂 Dessert for a meal- good idea 🙂

  13. Mom had no idea Memory came from Cats! Very cool. All those are good songs. And Trouble, of course, you are guilty of nothing. 🙂

  14. Ellen,

I added your link to the Monday’s Music Moves Me party. I remember when I thought 25 was old, then when I turned 25 and hearing some teenagers working for me say I was old made me laugh. Age is a relative thing. What you think is old has a way of changing as you get older yourself. lol Thanks for sharing your song picks for this week. Have a good day, my friend!

    1. Thank you for adding my link. I thought I had added it, but I must have forgotten.. XO

  15. Our Mama loves the song Strawberry Wine . ..she remembers when thirty was old too …and fifty! Now she has reached both of those milestones! Yikes!!

the critters in the cottage xo

  16. I love your selections for this week’s theme! I especially like that you picked songs that others hadn’t used in their posts as well. These are some good ones, and I appreciated listening to them.
