Lucy Update

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is ROAR day, but I don’t have an actual ROAR.Β  I try to donate weekly to a shelter or cat in need, but this week, all our funds are for Lucy. Our appointment didn’t get us any answers, but they did blood work so maybe we will have an answer soon. I also made an appointment for her to get an ultrasound. There is a traveling one that is there at least once a month and will be there next Tuesday.

One good thing is that she maintained her weight from last week. They also gave her some of the pasty stuff I had trouble giving her which should firm up her stool. I just need to keep her eating for another week until the ultrasound.

014( She is sleepy, but at least she chose to be out in the livingroom with us)

Trout Talkin Tabbies suggested a Vitamin B-12 injection, but the vet wants to wait until after the ultrasound. Thank you Tabbies- I appreciate the suggestion and will push for this next week.Β  I appreciate everyone’s purrs and prayers.

In better news, my latest article in The Daily Mewz is posted. It is Stinky’s story:

Phoebe will be posting tomorrow.

  1. Glad Lucy is eating. Keep doing what you are doing. I would not make any changes until all of the tests are done and reported. You don’t want to mask any results with changes. Hopefully the lab work will reveal something.

  2. Our purrs and prayers remain with Lucy. We hope you find out something soon so you can help Lucy get better. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  3. I am sending more purrs for Lucy.
I enjoyed reading how Stinky came to live with you. It is a pity we can’t comment there.

    1. Thank you for reading Stinky’s story, I didn’t realize you can’t comment there πŸ™ Thanks for the purrs for Lucy- they help.

  4. We’re sending lots of POTP to Lucy……maybe the paste will help with the bathroom part of things while you wait for the ultrasound next week. Loved your article on Flat Cats at Scouts at Katzenworld (thanks for using our photo!!!!) and we’re on our way now to read Stinky’s Story! It’s ALL GO at 15andMeowing!!

Love and Hugs, Sammy and Mom

    1. Thank you for reading about the Flat Cats and letting me use your photo. And thanks for reading Stinky’s story too. The POTP is helping, and the paste is too πŸ™‚

  5. Sending loads of purrs and prayers to Lucy. We all hope she feels better as the days go by. It’s no fun when anyone is sick at home.
Hugs for all of you from everyone at my house,

    1. Thank you for reading Stinky’s story. I am glad the tv blew up too πŸ™‚ I will try tuna if I need to, but right now she will eat beef food with gravy- kind of odd because she used to always want chicken or turkey.

  7. I hope Lucy gets better soon! Sending prayers for her.
I also would like to mention that you comment a lot on my blog, but when you comment there’s no link to your blog. So, I thought you had no blog. Today I saw your logo at the giveaway at Cat Chat with Caren and Cody and finally realized that you were the same person who commented on my blog! it took me a while, but I finally find out your blog πŸ™‚

Hope Lucy gets better and I’m looking forward reading your next posts!

  8. Wes sending lots and lots of purrayers for Lucy and wes is concatulating yous for winning the cool scratcher at Cody’s Blog!
Kisses to alls of yous but extra kisses for Lucy
    Nellie

    1. Lucy thanks you for the extra kisses- they helped her feel a little better. And the purrayers did too- you are very sweet. I will let Lucy try the scratcher first.

  9. Oh sweet bootyful Lucy and awnty Ellen weez so sowry yous still not know what be da purroblem. We know how it is to not know what’s up. Weez sendin’ tons of purrayers and hope yous get to da bottom of this soon. Seems sissy had a weally bad upset tummy, and dat mey be what’s happenin’ to Lucy. Yous can give her a 1/8 tsp of Slippery Elm Bark 2 times a day or a 1/4 (2.5 mg) of Pepcid 2 times a day safely ifin yous wuld like to twy it. Ifin dat be da purroblem you shuld see wesults wiffin a meal or 3. Good luck.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Lexi

    1. Thank you for the purrayers- they help. Also for the advice. I have Pepcid, but I didn’t use it because she wasn’t vomiting so I figured it was just her other end πŸ™‚ I don’t have the slippery elm bark, but I will look into that. XO

  10. We’ll continue keeping Lucy in our thoughts! So she’s allowed in the living room? Wasn’t that the cat-free room? πŸ˜€ (I’d also make an exception if someone is ill)

Thank you for telling Stinky’s story – I’m so glad you found that poor little thing on that cold night. I’m smiling though that this was the only time she didn’t scratch you – clever kitty. πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you for reading Stinky’s story- she know she wanted out of the cold that night. Thank you for thinking of Lucy. The dining room is cat-free, but I would let her in there if she wanted πŸ™‚

  11. Oh Lucy, we are purring and praying that you’ll be better soon. And for the vets, that they’ll be able to figure stuff out and get you feeling good.

  12. We hope you can get some answers as to what is ailing Lucy…and she feels better soon.

Our vet has given us B12 shots when we’re feeling a bit punky…and they have helped.

    1. I did ask for one, but the vet wants to wait until after the ultrasound. Thank you for the suggestion- I will remind the vet on Tuesday if she is still not back to normal.

  13. We hope Lucy can be ‘figured out’ Being sick and not knowing why is frustrating indeed.
Minko gets weekly b12 shots too. What is the pasty stuff?? He has some issues with looseness…..

    Purrs….and more purrs….

    1. I will get Lucy a B-12 shot after her ultrasound. I sent you an email with all the info. on the pasty stuff. Thanks for the purrs πŸ™‚

  14. Lucy, we have been thinking of you and hoping you feel better soon. Hopefully the vet will be able to understand what is happening once your blood work comes back. Hugs to both you and your Mama. We know it is worrisome when a fur baby is unwell.

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. Thank you for your care and concern. Her white blood cells are elevated, but that can mean infection or inflammation so we won’t know more until the ultrasound. XO
