It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? and Comedy Plus’ Awww.. Mondays Blog Hops.

Joanie has today off with pay because Phoebe told her that last Monday was a holiday and she should have gotten twice as many treats for working. They threatened to report me to NUCAT.

I just completed The Good Son: JFK Jr. and The Mother He Loved by Christopher Anderson. My mom has always been a fan of the Kennedy family and has read several books about them. This is my first one and I already ordered another one from the library. I found this book very interesting and sad. This family has had more than their share of tragedies. I admire that the whole family was so hard working and committed to public service. They were far from perfect, but they did help others.

Today is the two-year anniversary of Lucy’s passing. I miss her every day. She was my grumpy, yet affectionate girl. She always loved to be on my lap and she came running whenever I would blow my nose ( I think she assumed I was crying every time).

  1. Your book sounds good. I’d love to read it too. I’ve read lots of books about the Kennedys. There is just something about them. I’m not reading anything right now.

  2. It is sad, how many tragedies the Kennedy family has endured. We are thinking of you today as you remember your sweet Lucy. How beautiful she was and always will be. Purrs and prayers to you!

  3. I know how much you love all your kitties and each one we lose keeps part of our heart always………I hope she “visits” you today when you blow your nose! My Mom is a fan of the Kennedys too – they have truly had much tragedy in their family. HAPPY MONDAY!

    Love, Teddy

  4. I understand your sadness about Lucy. I still miss Z Cat and she has been gone since January of 2009. Thinking of you on this Anniversary. I am still not reading, we have been on the road to visiting new great niece. Thinking things will calm down now… oh no, I have jury duty from 13 Sept till 13 Oct!
    Joanie and Phoebe! Funny!

    1. You have jury duty for a month!! That is awful. I am sorry about Z Cat, we always miss them. XO

  5. Ellen, I’m sorry to read this is the 2nd anniversary of Lucy’s passing. I know this is a bittersweet day for you. Hopefully, the hurt isn’t so much these days and you find joy looking through photographs of her. It sounds like your grumpy girl had a tender side if she came running every time you blew your nose. That’s sweet! {{{hgus}}}

  6. We’ve all had that special cat or dog. I’ve had one of both. I still miss them both so very much.

I’m currently reading all the secret places by Anna Carlisle. Excellent read so far.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. ☺

  8. Angel Lucy obviously loved you as much as you loved her, and she’s just invisible now but she’s still with you! Can you believe it, but I’ve got three books going right now: one MP3 book on my phone, one book on CD in my car, and the newest Sofie Kelly Magical Cats books, “A Tale of Two Kitties”. Spent a fair amount of time yesterday watching Hurricane Irma hit Florida on different TV stations, so I didn’t get as far into my reading as I would have liked. 9/11/01 today; we remember and won’t forget.

  9. I’m sorry about Lucy. Today is the anniversary of my dad’s death. It’s been six years, but it still is a sad day for me.

My mom is really into JFK history and I think would like the book you are reading. I making my way through two books still. QUIET by Susan Cain and MISS JANE by Brad Watson.

    Have a great week, Ellen!

    1. I am so sorry about your Dad. Quiet is a good book, I am an introvert so I enjoyed it. I hope you have a nice week too.
