It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Book Date’s  It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? and Comedy Plus’ Awwww….Mondays blog hops.

I am still not reading any cat books. I did read a good book that was published in 1999 titled A Year by the Sea by Joan Anderson. It is a memoir of the year a woman spent living away from her husband when they were having troubles after their children were grown up. I have already ordered the rest of her books at the library and look forward to reading them.

I am also reading Bill Hayes’ first Memoir, Sleep Demons: An Insomniac’s Memoir. It is not as good as his latest one because he includes a lot of history of sleep and sleep studies. I wrote about his latest one two weeks ago.Click here.

Here is an awww worthy photo of Phoebe with The Great One, Phoebe will tell you all about her visit later in the week. All the other kitties disappear when she is here, but Phoebe is a sweetie.

  1. What a purrfect hostess you are, Phoebe! I can’t wait to hear more about your visit with The Great One.

And I always enjoy your book reviews. You never fail to introduce me to some wonderful reads, and I always appreciate your honesty about the books you read. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Phoebe your nose is all red:))
    How sweet!

Different sounding books. Petcretary could write about being an insomniac too…sigh…

    1. MOL! That is a hat 🙂 I bet she would enjoy this book ans the boring parts would put her to sleep. 🙂

  3. Sweet photo of “Patient Phoebe” with The Great One…….I’m glad Phoebe is the brave one of the bunch…………..

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. Phoebe, what a good girl you are, to let that child play with you. Sounds like some good reading. Thanks for the good reviews. Have a great day.

  5. I am not reading any books right now. But my next book will be The Hidden Life of Trees, suggested to me by another blogger. Phoebe you are a sweetie!

  6. My reading is mostly review books these days as I try to get ahead. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  7. I’m reading All By Myself, Alone – by Mary Higgins Clark. Very good so far.

The Great One must be quite a story if all the other kitties hide.

A huge AWWW on Phoebe for hanging in there.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your wonderful mom. ☺

    1. The Great One is sweet, but loud and the cats are not used to that. I hope you had a great day too.

  8. Phoebe, you are brave. When my #1 Son was a tiny baby, he scared the daylights out of all of the cats and they never went near a child under age 8 again!

  9. Phoebe, I imagine you were a good teacher to ‘The Great One.’ Lil’ ones can learn a lot from we cats, isn’t that right? They are a curious things, the small humans. I haven’t been around them before, but I have seen them from a distance.

    1. Thank you. She has 2 cats and one likes to spend time with her 🙂

  10. Phoebe, you’re such a sweetie! Our mommy is reading “Alaskan Laundry” which is a book she picked up at a museum in Anchorage last summer and is finally getting around to reading.

  11. Sweet Phoebe, it’s good to see you! Our Mom is reading “From a Buick 8,” an older Stephen King book she’s had for years without ever reading it because it’s autographed and for some reason, she thought we might autograph it ourselves. Silly Mom!

    1. Thank you. I pawtographed a library book by clawing it so maybe your Mom should keep that away from you 🙂

  12. That’s is definitely an awww worthy photo! As for what I’m reading, I just got Stephen King’s book Salem’s Lot from Barnes and Noble yesterday. Looking forward to jumping in!

    1. Thank you. I watched Salem’s Lot on tv when I was 10 years old and feared vampires for years. I still get nervous when I get up at night to close a window.

  13. Sounds like he had to pad out his memoir to fill it up with the facts and research on sleep. I think it is such an individual thing anyway. Ah, no cat books!!

        1. I bet she would win at the game, CLue 🙂 tee-hee, you know I am very ticklish 🙂

  16. What a good kitty you are, Phoebe! We are reading The Big Kitty, a Sunny & Shadow cozy mystery. I like it so far. Cozy mysteries with kitties are mostly fun reads. There’s only been one I’ve stopped reading, because the cat was using a ouija board and spelling out words!

    1. Thank you. We are afraid of oija boards and wouldn’t like that either.

  17. Phoebe, I completed your jigsaw puzzle! I’m listening to “Fates And Furies” by Lauren Groff on audiobook, and have a copy of “A Stranger In A Strange Land” by Robert A. Heinlein, but it’s kinda hard to read.

    1. Thank you for completing the puzzle. Mom has heard of Stranger in a Strange Land, but not the other.

  18. What a lovely family in ways furry and non. Thank you for sharing.

I also appreciate your fun remark to my recent blog post. We need pedicures on National Wench Day by any willing creature of our choice. I’ll never forget a beautiful boy kneeling at my feet trying to figure out how to paint my toenails. ~swoon~ Best part of that day!

  19. Very sweet foto. And we’ll be expandin’ on our aggression posts, so stay tuned. We’re also sendin’ purrayers. Big hugs

    Luv ya’

  20. That sounds like an interesting read. Was she able to reconcile with her husband after the year was through?

Phoebe, you are helping to teach the Great One all about sweet kitties 🙂

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. Yes, she was which made the book all the better. The Great One has 2 kitties and a dog 🙂 XO
