It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are participating in Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?  and Comedy Plus’ Awww…. Mondays Blog Hops.

I just finished reading a fantastic book by Elaine Faber titled Black Cat and the Accidental Angel ( Black Cat Mysteries Book 3). I completed it in less than 2 days because I couldn’t put it down.

*Disclaimer : I received a Kindle edition of Black Cat and the Accidental Angel by Elaine Faber for free in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are my own.

It starts with a family driving home from a vacation with their pets. They get in an accident and the carrier with their two cats tumbles down an embankment. The family goes to the hospital depending on the local animal shelter to help take care of their pets. Unfortunately, no one realizes there were cats because of where they landed.

The story follows these two cats as they try to find their way home. Along the way, they help another family in need and help solve a mystery. This is a Christian novel so there are many references to angels and St. Peter which I found very comforting. I could not stop reading because I needed to know what would happen to these two cats and their family.

This was the third book in the series and I had no trouble following it, but I do wish I had read them in order and I am planning to read them soon. I highly recommend this book to any cat lover, especially those that love a mystery. If you are interested in reading it, here is the Amazon link.

The Black Cat in the story reminded me of our Angel Spooky.

  1. Hi kitties! You all sure keep busy over there. Not like my Lazy Old Bat. For an English teacher, she sure binge-watches a lot of Netflix instead of reading—unless you count reddit and Facebook. Phffft. The book your Human’s reading sounds like my kinda story XOXOXO

    1. Indeed. The cat narrates about 75% of the story, so if you want to know what a cat thinks of emus and vineyards and family’s that seem to have more trouble than they should, Accidental Angel is just $3.99 at Amazon!

    1. Perhaps WWII humorous mystery is more your style. Check out my other series, Mrs. Odboddy Hometown Patriot and Mrs. Odboddy Undercover Courier. Eccentric elderly Mrs. Odboddy fights the war from the home front… if she could just remember where she left her gun…

  2. This sounds like such a sweet and fun read. I will definitely have to give it and the rest of the series a read. And Angel Spooky is the purrfect kitty to go with this review. Purrs!

    1. If you like cats and like mystery, this is the best combination. and the cat tells much of the tale in all three books, but most of all in Accidental Angel. Thanks for your comments.

  3. Definitely checking out this book you are reading. I am reading Second Chance Romance by Jill Weatherholt. Jill is a long time blogging friend and just had her first book, Second Chance Romance, published this month. Romance novels are not my usual reads but I am thoroughly enjoying this book. It is a sweet story and I am enjoying the characters that Jill has brought to life. I love the Aunt Phoebe character in this book… 🙂

  4. Sometimes our pets are our guardian angels in one sense. It does sound like a great story!

    1. It is a precious story. Almost my favorite of the six books I’ve written. As the cat narrates the majority of the tale, it is a bit unlike many other cat mysteries you might read.

    1. Do not pass an opportunity to enjoy this wonderful story. Yes, I’m tooting my own horn, but I truly do love this story. Thanks for considering the book. I’m sure you would love it.

    1. And you look just like the kind of cat that would understand Thumper (Black Cat). Quirky, funny, but very very wise. It take Black Cat a while to figure out the ‘guy thing’ but in the end, he realizes… there are more important things in life than knowing your own name. Blessings.

    1. Cat Chat kitties should particularly enjoy a book written mostly by another cat. Give our Black CAt series a try. I guarentee you will like all three books.

  5. Black Cat and the Accidental Angel sounds like a pawesome read and Amber will be adding it to her library asap, thanks fur sharing guys!

Last week Amber was reading The Missing Corpse ~ The Lakeside Cozy Cat Mysteries Series which she really enjoyed!

    Bestest purrs

    1. Pawesome doesn’t begin to describe what a great book it is. I also have an “Amber” kitty. She is actually the muse for Angel in this book. Cream colored shorthair with an attitude! Amber will love love love story,,,guarenteed… or your money back. I’m that sure.!!!

  6. Cats are ever so smart. I would love this book too. Sounds like an uplifting read.

Angel Spooky is a huge Awww too.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your peeps. ☺

  7. If you like a humorous book with a touching message that includes cats… this is the book for you. “Tell your truth a different way.” In this book, I’ve touched on many human failings (which Black Cat experiences) and his struggles coming to understand the right way to proceed with relationships, parenting, and self discovery. Accidental Angel mimics our lives… but through the eyes of a cat. What’s not to love? Please give us a chance to bring a bit of love and laughter into your home. Blessings!

  8. Ellen: Thanks for the opportunity to share my book with your friends. I hope they will enjoy it as much as you did. All three cat mysteries are available at Amazon for $3.99 in e-book. Black Cat’s Legacy, Black Cat and the Lethal Lawyer and Black Cat and the Accidental Angel.

  9. Thanks for the opportunity to share my story with your readers! I hope they will enjoy this book as much as you did and the first two as well. Black Cat’s Legacy, Black Cat and the Lethal Lawyer and Black Cat an the Accidental Angel are all available at Amazon for $3.99 in ebook.

  10. That sounds like a wonderful book! Our Mom was reading some of her Koontz book to us but we asked her to stop. Too many 1970’s clichés that we didn’t understand and when she explained them, honestly, we got bored and wandered off. MOL!

    1. Well, kitties, here is your chance to listen to a book written almost entirely by a cat about cats! I’m sure you will understand his humor and his wisdom!

  11. Madi and Mom: If you love kitty books, you will love Accidental Angel because it’s all about mystery, love, life, kittens, and all told by the cat! What’s not to love?

  12. What can be better than a book about a black cat?! I can’t wait for Mom to read the book to me. Paws to you for sharing your review! Mew Mew!

      Black Cat and Angel 🙂

LadyMum iss reedin Kjelle Eriksson’ss bok “Thee Hand That Trembless”. It iss berry innterestinn as thee main character Sven-Arne disappeerss frum Sweden an iss presumed dead fur 12 yeerss. Hee iss livin inn India an sumone frum Sweden recognizess Sven-Arne who uses a foney name.

    1. Well, if you want more kitty books, here is your chance to read a kitty book AND A MYSTERY! Hurray! Hope you get LadyMum to buy the book. There are three cat mysteries! Lots of fun reading!

    2. That sounds very interesting too. I know you and your Mum would love these books with a black cat and a mystery. Phoebe sends her love XO

  16. Of course it ends happy… because that’s how our books end… but maybe we’ll scare you a little along the way! Tee hee!!! HOpe you will invest your mum’s $3.99 and buy the book.

  17. That sounds like a good story! We like the cover too! We’re not reading anything these days but looking forward to doing so in three weeks!

    1. I need to spend less time reading and work on our taxes or at least bug the hubby to do them.

    1. Eastside: Lots of good cat books out there, but this one is different as Black Cat writes the story and there is also an inspirational message in it. Well worth the bucks.

  18. This sounds like a very exciting book. I can understand why you couldn’t put it down. I would want to know how things went for the kitties, too.

We went for a ride the other day and passed a critter carrier on the side of the road, down in the ditch. I hope whoever had been in it made it home okay. Actually, what I’m really hoping is that no one was in it when it fell down there in the first place! That would be really scary and a critter could get hurt really bad like that.

Thanks for sharing this book with us. Have a blessed week!

    1. Oh my! I do hope the kitty was alright. In our story, the cats were left behind and when Brett finally returns to retrieve them, they have gone on their way, looking for the way home… Thus begins the adventure.

    2. That is awful, I hope nothing had been in the carrier. I hope you have a blessed week too.

  19. So many great looking cats and cat moms on this site. Should be a gold mine for selling my three cat books! Thanks to you that have bought already. Hope you will share your reading experience with your friends. If any of you want to review my book on your blogs or have me do a guest post or interview, please contact me at el**********@mi****************.com

  20. This sounds like a purrrrfectly lovely cozy! I love animals mixed in to the mystery. I’m glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing. Thank you for visiting my blog. (I have a huge Kindle library but only keep about a 100 on my Kindle at any one time. I’ll never get to read them all unless we get to read our TBR shelves in heaven.)
